Chapter 491: Chapter 491 Does It Taste Good?
While Rafael and Minerva were fighting for their lives, the rest of the group remained in the dark about his situation, unaware of the danger he faced.
Rafael’s assistant kept the details tightly controlled, carefully managing information to prevent alarming others or risking interference.
This secrecy was crucial to ensure Rafael’s rescue mission for his sister would not be thwarted by those who might attempt to derail it.
Because of this secrecy, the other five struggled to piece together what Rafael was up to, relying only on the limited information Dave had shared.
No one mentioned it to Hera, as they didn’t want her to worry, especially with her big day tomorrow.
Xavier accompanied Hera back to her penthouse to look after her; after their long day at the boutique, she’d begun experiencing severe cramps near her navel, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Concerned, Xavier was too worried to let her go home alone in that state.
The moment Xavier brought Hera home, he didn’t hesitate to lift her in a gentle princess carry from the basement all the way up to her penthouse.
Hera, weakened by the pain, didn’t have the energy to protest and allowed Xavier to do as he wished.
Once he had carefully settled her into her room, he immediately headed down to the kitchen to prepare something to help ease her discomfort.
“Sir, do you need any help?” Amy asked, trying to stifle a smile but failing miserably; she found Xavier’s actions both endearing and thoughtful.
“No, I can manage,” Xavier replied, focused on stirring the pot of honey water.
He had boiled water, added honey, and even some orange peel, making the mixture with the same care as if he were baking.
Amy and Hannah couldn’t convince him to let them help—he was determined to do this for Hera himself.
Earlier, he had also prepared everything upstairs: he drew a hot bath, laid out towels, and set out fresh pajamas for her before coming down to the kitchen.
Sitting in the bathtub, Hera began to feel some relief as the hot water soothed her body.
Although there was still a lingering ache in her stomach, the intense pain had subsided.
Now, with a clearer mind, she felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her as she recalled Xavier’s attentive actions.
He had gone to her walk-in closet to find her pajamas—and even her underwear—and had discreetly checked the bathroom for her preferred feminine products, taking note of the brand she used.
Only after ensuring everything was set did he finally leave the bathroom and head out.
Xavier didn’t say much as he quietly went about everything he did for her, but Hera felt her heart warm from his thoughtfulness.
Despite his aloof and silent demeanor, a certain warmth and genuine care radiated from him that made her feel understood and looked after.
There was no need for grand gestures or elaborate words—he simply showed he cared through his actions, and that spoke volumes.
‘That’s Xavier for you,’ Hera thought, smiling to herself as she leaned back and let the warm bathwater soothe her.
She didn’t linger long in the tub, and after a few minutes, she drained the water and switched to a hot shower, quickly scrubbing off the last traces of stress.
Once finished, she dried off and put on the pajamas and other essentials Xavier had thoughtfully prepared.
She skipped her usual routine—no additional products—just a simple rinse with shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner before stepping out, feeling both refreshed and comforted.
When Xavier finished preparing the honey water, he didn’t have to wait long for Hera to emerge in the bathroom.
As he pushed the door open, he found her seated at the vanity, blow-drying her hair.
He approached her, placing the honey water he had made on the counter in front of her before gently taking the dryer from her hands.

With a warm smile, he began drying her hair himself, encouraging her to drink the honey water he had prepared.
“Drink it slowly; it’s still a bit hot,” Xavier reminded her.
Truth be told, he didn’t actually need to boil the honey and orange peel to make the honey water.
Unsure of his kitchen skills and reluctant to ask for help from Amy and Hannah, he had gone the extra mile, boiling water when all he really needed to do was pour hot water in a cup and stir in the honey and orange peel.
But what mattered was that he had tried.
Hera could tell the effort he put into making the honey water; the consistency hinted at his extra step, as if he were preparing something for a cake rather than a simple drink.
‘So, he really doesn’t know his way around the kitchen,’ Hera thought, smiling sweetly at Xavier through the mirror.
A playful memory surfaced, reminding her of the time he had asked her to cook for him during their variety show together.
She couldn’t help but giggle to herself at the thought.
“Does it taste good?” Xavier asked suddenly, noticing her giggle.
His smile was genuine, with his eyes crinkling in warmth.
Although the honey water was slightly bitter from the overboiled orange peel, Hera nodded and returned his smile with sweetness.
“It’s delicious, thank you, Brother Vier,” Hera said, a teasing lilt in her voice.
She didn’t notice the sudden change in Xavier’s expression at her words. The way she said it felt like music to his ears, sending a jolt through his chest and a sweet sensation churning in his stomach. He instinctively reached out to touch her lips while placing the hairdryer down with his other hand.
“Let me have a taste,” Xavier murmured, leaning down to brush his lips against Hera’s. He intended only a brief peck to savor the sweetness of the honey water lingering on her lips, which looked so tantalizingly inviting.
“Not enough.” But the gentle kiss only heightened his thirst, leaving him with a dryness in his throat and a desire for more.
He leaned in closer, his entire frame enveloping her.
Gently, he rubbed his thumb along Hera’s lips, then pressed it to the corner of her mouth, coaxing her to open up.
As soon as she complied, Xavier couldn’t contain his urgency; he dove his tongue into her mouth like a hungry cat.
His other hand found its way to the back of Hera’s head, drawing her in closer and urging her not to pull away.
Caught off guard by Xavier’s sudden move, Hera tried to find her voice, but he didn’t give her a chance to pull away. Instead, he deepened the kiss, holding her firmly in place.
“Hmmm.” Hera’s eyes fluttered as Xavier’s hair brushed against her face, sending a ticklish sensation through her.
A warm churn began to grow in her stomach, a familiar feeling that made her realize just how much she desired him.
Slowly, she reached up to his hand, still cupping her face, his thumb resting at the corner of her lips.
His big hands enveloped her face effortlessly, and she felt the heat of his touch as he gently caressed her cheek. “Ha…”
She barely had a moment to exhale before Xavier leaned in for another deep kiss, consuming her with urgency.
