Chapter 494: Chapter 494 Preparing Like a Husband
‘This guy is really good at acting—what a vixen,’ Dave thought, looking Leo up and down.
But Leo ignored him, keeping his eyes fixed on the door.
Moments later, an irritated Xavier opened it, topless, with messy hair and a distinct red mark on his collarbone.
All four of them stared at the clear red mark on Xavier’s collarbone.
His hair was disheveled like a bird’s nest, but it only added to his charm, giving him a rugged allure—though that wasn’t the point.
Xavier tilted his head to the right, as if stretching his neck muscles, but the men in front of him knew he was purposefully flaunting the kiss mark to irritate them.
Of course, Xavier wanted to show it off. He had made a deal with Hera: he’d only let her go to wash up if she gave him a kiss mark.
At first, Hera was hesitant, but with Dave’s incessant knocking and the other men gathered outside her door, she knew she needed to get going—they still had to travel to the distant racing venue.
Feeling a bit guilty and flustered, almost as if she’d been caught sneaking around, she finally gave in.
Leaning close to Xavier, she could only reach his collarbone from their position in the bed, so she pressed a hard kiss just above it, leaving a clear mark.
She felt a bit shy at first—she had never given anyone a kiss mark before and wasn’t sure if she was doing it right.
“Again,” Xavier murmured, his voice low.
Thinking he was dissatisfied and that she might have done it wrong, Hera leaned in once more.
This time, she licked his skin lightly before pressing her lips against it.
“Ugh!” Xavier shuddered at the sensation of her tongue on his skin, pulling Hera closer to make her apply more pressure.
He only stopped when he felt a familiar warmth stirring in his core, realizing he was pushing things a bit too far and would soon be genuinely aroused.
Satisfied with the mark she’d left, he gently pulled away, giving her a relaxed smile and urging her to wash up while he went to open the door.
It was only then that Hera understood why Xavier had wanted the kiss mark—to show off.
She couldn’t decide whether to laugh at his playful antics or feel flustered, because Xavier was acting silly and wanting to show off to everyone, or maybe cry because deep inside, she already knew how far she’s went with every man standing outside that door and Xavier’s attempt could still be treated as innocent.
Hera stopped overthinking and dashed to the bathroom to calm herself down.
Only after watching her scurry away like a startled rabbit did Xavier rise from the bed, chuckling to himself.
But his expression darkened slightly, still feeling the tension churning in his stomach.
When he opened the door, an unmistakable air of ambiguity lingered around him.
His trousers sat low on his waist, accentuating his Adonis belt and a noticeable bulge, causing the faces of the four men outside to darken.
Meanwhile, Amy had already retreated to the kitchen to help Hannah prepare breakfast for the six of them—and to avoid watching the confrontation.
Though curious about who might win her young mistress’s heart among the five men vying for her, she wasn’t bold enough to watch openly, so she missed seeing Xavier as he appeared.
As soon as Xavier stepped out, Dave was the most visibly irritated, as always.
“Motherfucker! You crawled into my sweetheart’s bed even knowing she’s on her monthly period?” Dave growled in a low voice.
Xavier leaned casually against the doorframe, unfazed. “Like you said, she’s on her period. What are you so worried about?” he replied lazily.
“Dave, do you think you’re the only one who can crawl into Hera’s bed while she’s sleeping?” Luke teased, clearly hinting that he knew about the time Dave had slipped into Hera’s bed after getting drunk at the penthouse, only to have Luke come back to retrieve him.

Dave visibly stiffened at Luke’s words, slowly turning to look over his shoulder. There was a dangerous glint in Luke’s eyes, as if silently warning, ‘You dare lie to me?’
Dave gulped, realizing his secret was out, and decided to stay silent, leaving the whole corridor in an awkward silence.
Breaking the tension, Leo walked past Xavier and entered the room to help Hera get ready.
Approaching the bathroom door, he asked, “Wifey, would it be alright if I pack a few clothes for you to bring to the race, just in case?” His voice was filled with genuine thoughtfulness and concern.
Although Leo’s voice sounded caring, the men outside, who could see his expression, couldn’t quite tell what he was thinking.
However, the air around them felt heavy—especially for Dave, who involuntarily shuddered.
After Luke’s teasing, everyone had pieced together what likely happened that night.
When they arrived at Hera’s penthouse, Dave had been the most anxious to ensure Xavier hadn’t slipped into Hera’s bed while she was asleep.
Though they all shared the same suspicion, Dave’s concern seemed to come from experience, and Luke’s teasing had simply been a way to test his reaction.
“O-okay!” Hera stammered in response through the door.
Inside the bathroom, her heart was still pounding.
Even though she knew this was a reverse harem story, she still couldn’t get used to the situation.
It felt impossible to look each of them in the eye after being intimately close with one, only to then face the others as if nothing had happened.
She took a deep breath in and out, calming herself, then washed her face to fully wake up.
Thankfully, there hadn’t been any issues with her period spilling onto the blanket or bed; in her rush, she hadn’t had the chance to check earlier.
Now, though, she felt relieved—she didn’t want to embarrass herself or make anyone uncomfortable by seeing blood on the sheets.
Although she knew these men probably wouldn’t react like others, she couldn’t forget Alexi’s reaction, and she still felt a bit self-conscious.
Even so, she reminded herself that this was a natural cycle of her body.
As she began to overthink again, she washed herself, trying to rinse away those intrusive thoughts.
‘I have nothing to be embarrassed about; my body simply goes through its natural cycle. Boys may be fussy, but real men understand and takes care.’ Hera repeated this mantra in her mind, and it truly helped her calm down and shift her perspective.
On the other hand, as soon as Leo received the go-ahead, he headed to Hera’s walk-in closet.
It was as if he had been living there for ages; he quickly located the Gucci Savoy suitcases.
After selecting one, he picked out three pairs of shoes: a classy stiletto, a pair of running shoes, and some sassy black military boots.
Unsure of what Hera would want to wear after the race, he focused on choosing items that he felt would suit her best while ensuring her comfort.
For clothing, he selected a beautiful yet comfortable maxi dress, a cozy sweatshirt, and a stylish trench coat paired with a leather skirt.
Unable to decide between a thin-strapped plunging neckline tube top and a fashionable long sleeve, he decided to pack both.
