Chapter 627: Chapter 627 Who’s Fault?
For now, the focus was on building a strong foundation for the future—his son and daughter understanding that their financial independence would come sooner if they remained disciplined.
This would allow their father to focus on supporting his wife, and maybe even grow their family in the future and have more children.
With this bonus in hand, he couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of gratitude—and excitement for what lay ahead.
With the driver suitably rewarded, Leo, Luke, Xavier, and Dave entered the exclusive elevator, heading straight to the presidential suite without any interruptions.
Hera, meanwhile, clung nervously to Leo, burying her face in his chest as if seeking solace.
‘Athena, damn it! You jinxed me! You started this whole ‘stealing the male leads’ thing and even having one more than Alice in the novel. Now, I don’t even know if I’ll survive till tomorrow,’ Hera thought, covering her face in exasperation.
What Hera conveniently forgot was that she had been the one to tease Athena about having six lovers—just to one-up Alice—because of Athena’s mother constantly trying to marry her off.
Athena would tease Hera right back, but now that it was Hera living this reality, she realized just how hard it was to emulate Alice, the supposed master of time management.
These men always acted like insatiable, hungry wolves, never giving her a moment’s peace.
She could feel her body undergoing subtle changes. Despite being intimate with Xavier just last night and with Leo earlier, a persistent yearning still coursed through her.
Was this insatiable pull yet another effect of the infamous female lead halo?
As Hera pondered, she clung to Leo’s shirt and buried her face, avoiding everyone’s gaze as her cheeks grew warm.
Perhaps it was the food coma or the exhaustion from the day finally catching up to her.
Nestled in Leo’s arms as he cradled her in the elevator and carried her down the hallway to their presidential suite, Hera felt as though she were being gently rocked to sleep.
In moments, she succumbed to the pull of slumber.
By the time Leo laid her carefully on the bed, the other three were trailing close behind.
Dave, wearing a mischievous grin, had already started unbuckling his belt, clearly anticipating what was to come.
At this point, none of them found it strange to share such intimate moments together—after all, Leo, Zhane, and Rafael had done the same the first time with Hera.
As Dave approached the bed, he noticed the other three standing motionless, their gazes fixed on the bed.
Without hesitation, he shoved past Xavier and demanded, “What the hell are you all standing around like statues for? Shouldn’t we be warming my sweetheart up?”
But as the words left his mouth, his steps faltered. His eyes landed on Hera’s serene, sleeping face.
She lay there, her soft snores barely audible, like a kitten’s gentle purr. There was no sign of pretense; she truly seemed at peace.
Her beauty was captivating, an enchanting blend of alluring elegance and adorable cuteness.
Realizing she was truly asleep, Dave’s hope shattered in an instant. He turned to Leo with an accusatory glare.
“This is your fault! You wore her out!” he huffed, his lips forming a pout as his eyes reddened with frustration.
He had been so eager for tonight—finally, a chance to be close to Hera. Every time he’d tried before, the timing had been wrong.
And to make matters worse, Leo, Zhane, and Rafael had all shared moments with her without telling the rest, leaving him feeling excluded. Now, when he thought it was finally his turn, Hera was so exhausted she’d fallen asleep.
Dave glanced at Leo and Xavier, both of whom had enjoyed their private moments with Hera, monopolizing her without having to share. It was painfully obvious that they were the ones who had worn her out.
But Dave couldn’t do much about it—he knew it was partly his own fault for being slower than the rest. Still, his frustration was obvious, resembling a child throwing a tantrum after someone stole his candy.
Meanwhile, Luke stood silently, his gaze fixed on Hera’s sleeping form, his expression unreadable. Leo, on the other hand, looked guilty—he couldn’t deny that he had worn her out.

Their “quickie” might have been brief by his standards, but it had clearly taken a toll on Hera, who barely managed an hour’s rest beforehand.
Xavier wasn’t off the hook either; he felt a twinge of responsibility, knowing he’d almost kept Hera up all night the previous evening.
With this in mind, none of them tried to argue with Dave’s frustration—they understood where he was coming from.
After all, they’d all agreed to share Hera fairly. But at the same time, the rules were clear: how much time they got with her depended on their ability to claim it.
Fairness was the goal, but friendly competition was inevitable sometimes. Subtly, they all vied for more time, and in this game, losers could only cry and resolve to try harder next time.
As Leo and Xavier exchanged smug looks, their eyes practically taunting Dave, he could only retreat to the other side of the bed. Frustrated, he quickly stripped off his suit and shirt, stealing the spot beside Hera.
“We’ve been out all day. Go wash up first before jumping into bed!” Xavier’s voice was sharp, stopping Dave from diving into the bed and started going under the blanket.
They had all planned to sleep in the same bed, and while he had been willing to let Dave sleep next to Hera to calm him down—after all, he looked like a wounded puppy—he wasn’t about to let him skip a shower just to claim the spot beside her.
Xavier, being a clean freak, couldn’t stand the thought of anyone slipping straight into bed after being outside all day, especially with the grime of their outdoor clothes.
None of them were fond of it, really. Reluctantly, Dave dashed to the bathroom, his urgency almost comical.
As he neared the door, he sprinted inside as if someone were chasing him, afraid that the others might rush in to take a quick shower and leave him with a spot too far from Hera once he finally emerged.
Watching him, the rest of the group couldn’t help but chuckle, shaking their heads in amusement at his antics.
Since Hera had already showered before they went out to eat, Leo rummaged through the closet and found clothes that the bodyguard had purchased earlier.
It seemed the bodyguard had bought enough for everyone—outdoor and indoor sets for Hera, Leo, Luke, Xavier, and Dave.
He had even sent some of the clothes ahead to the hotel and made sure Hera’s pair was delivered to the race venue afterward.
This thoughtful gesture saved Leo the trouble of buying sleepwear for Hera. With the help of Xavier and Luke, they carefully dressed Hera in a fresh set of pajamas.
Luke handed the clothes to Leo, one piece at a time, while Xavier folded the used clothes, still warm from Hera’s body.
Leo gently helped the sleeping Hera change into her pajamas, carefully removing her bra with quiet attention.
As the fabric slipped away, the soft pink hue of her nipple became visible. For a brief moment, the three of them paused, their gazes fixed on her, as if contemplating whether to allow themselves a fleeting touch or to hold back.
