Chapter 634: Chapter 634 Hera In A Pickle (Edited)
Right now, all Hera needed to do was manage the situation. Finding the mole was Gerald’s expertise, while her role was to restore order and assist Vince.
Hera squinted, her mind clouded with thoughts as she turned on her heel to leave. The weight of the incident pressed on her; it hadn’t reached her grandfather yet, or at least, no one had been able to contact him. She could only pray that he was safe.
It seemed that some powerful force was now moving against them. A creeping sense of unease gnawed at her, for she couldn’t shake the thought that if she could alter and steal some of Alice’s fate, that meant that she could change the entire course of the Avery family’s destiny.
Since the Lennons had fallen at this juncture, she thought that they now took over her family’s fate and that the Avery wouldn’t suffer the same fate again like in the novel.
The news hit her like a ton of bricks, leaving her nervous and fearful once again.
Her mind spiraled with overthinking, endlessly replaying the possibilities of what might be happening and how it would all unfold.
In the chaos of her thoughts, she completely forgot that she was still in the middle of a tour with Leo, Luke, Xavier, and Dave.
Rattled beyond measure, Hera abruptly turned toward the helicopter, her focus fixed on one thing: she needed to reach the Avery Branch in Barcelona.
She was so consumed by the urgency of her thoughts that she had forgotten that it was Leo piloting the chopper.
Seeing Hera suddenly turn and rush toward the helicopter, her eyes dazed and slightly trembling, Leo immediately noticed something was off.
His heart clenched as he saw the distress in her expression. Without hesitation, he sprinted to catch up to her.
“Wifey, what’s wrong?” he asked, his voice laced with concern as he reached her side.
When Leo’s warm hand gently wrapped around Hera’s wrist and pulled her closer, her eyes flickered with a brief moment of clarity.
But her face remained pale, and her lips trembled. Fear radiated from her, unspoken yet so obvious.
Leo couldn’t fathom what had happened, but the terror in her eyes told him everything.
Without a second thought, he enveloped her in a protective hug, his hands soothingly rubbing her back. “Wifey, don’t be afraid,” he murmured, his voice steady but filled with tenderness. “I’m here. Breathe, just breathe…”
He guided her through deep, steady breaths, helping her calm her racing thoughts and clear her mind.
It was true that Hera was afraid. She had always believed she had escaped her original fate—convinced that she had already saved the Avery Consortium from the tragic end it met in the novel, and that her grandfather was safe as well.
With the fall of the Lennons and Tyler and his family imprisoned, Hera had believed the worst was behind her.
She thought she had successfully transferred her family’s fate to the Lennons, feeling they deserved it.
The Lennons had climbed the social ladder, aided by various families, eventually growing into a formidable force.
While they may not have rivaled the Avery family’s power, they had still met many of the requirements needed to take over the Avery family’s fate.
This was why Hera had taken her time in dealing with the Lennons—she had wanted them to fulfill certain requirements first, ensuring they were truly managed to fulfill some of the requirements she thought were needed to pass the Avery’s fate to the Lennon just like how she was stealing Alice’s fate as the female lead of the novel.
Stealing and transferring fate wasn’t as simple as it might seem. It wasn’t just a matter of choosing a target and randomly shifting her fate to someone else. There were intricate rules at play.
To steal Alice’s fate, Hera had to take more than just her own—she had to claim the male leads as well.
It wasn’t only about using their “male lead halo” for protection from the storyline; it was a deeper requirement.
In the narrative, the female lead needed to be surrounded by these male leads, and their feelings for her had to be strong. Without that, the fate she stole couldn’t properly settle or she might not be able to get a little bit of Alice’s fate at all.
Having successfully transferred her family’s fate to the Lennons, Hera thought everything would come to an end there.
She believed she could now take her time to claim Alice’s fate, living a life far different from the one in the novel—one where she could protect her family, their legacy, and everything that truly mattered to her.
Minerva, too, had changed. No longer an enemy, she was warming up to Hera, and that shift made her feel that everything was finally falling into place.

With things looking brighter, Hera let down her guard, convinced that this time, she would live a better life.
But the fleeting peace she experienced lulled her into a false sense of security, and in that moment of vulnerability, she didn’t see what was coming.
Now, hearing of an attack on one of her aides stationed in Barcelona and the looming presence of a powerful force against them, Hera’s fears resurfaced.
She overreacted, her mind spiraling back to the fate that had once been written for the Avery family. The very same fate she had desperately tried to avoid.
As she rested in Leo’s arms, Hera began to regain some clarity, the calming presence of his embrace helping her think more clearly.
She now understood that with a family like hers, there would always be those who wanted to take a piece of the pie, people who would be tempted to bring the Avery family down in order to claim their position.
From a business perspective, this was all too familiar. It wasn’t just a matter of the storyline or the Avery family’s fate.
It was the nature of power and wealth—something that, as the saying goes, only grew more enticing the more you had.
The more one shines, the more it attracts attention, and with that comes envy and jealousy.
Many had coveted her family’s fortune and power, and Hera knew all too well that there would always be those who wanted to bring the Avery family down.
But as soon as the thought of the Avery family’s fate from the novel resurfaced in her mind, panic set in.
She feared that this might be the storyline trying to restore order, forcing events to unfold as they were meant to.
It was possible, or it could simply be the result of human greed—people’s insatiable desire for more.
Regardless of whether it was the storyline or just the nature of people, the situation had already begun to unfold.
Instead of spiraling into overthinking and panic, Hera knew she had to stay strong.
This was an opportunity to put everything she had learned into action and prove to herself—and to her grandfather—that she could stand on her own.
She would protect their family, even in his absence, and show him that he no longer needed to worry about her.
Now that the thought had settled in her mind, Hera felt a sense of relief. She remained nestled in Leo’s embrace, and truthfully, it was all thanks to him.
His presence had helped her calm down, and with his support, her mindset returned to normal.
Perhaps this was one of the perks of having someone you trusted by your side—just a few comforting words from Leo, along with his calming presence, had made all the difference.
With grateful eyes, Hera gazed up at Leo, her arm wrapping around his neck as she whispered softly, “Thank you so much, love, for helping me calm down.”
Her voice was laced with a hint of playfulness, and for a moment, Leo was caught off guard.
Hearing her call him with such an endearing name made him pause, watching as she looked up at him like a little enchantress—seductive yet undeniably cute.
Rising on tiptoe, she couldn’t quite reach his lips, so she playfully stepped on his shoes and leaned in, planting a teasing kiss on the corner of Leo’s mouth.
“This is your reward,” she said with a mischievous smile, before darting away with a playful wink, sticking her tongue out and running back toward the helicopter.
As she fastened her seatbelt, Hera suddenly realized that Leo was the one piloting the helicopter, and that they hadn’t brought another pilot along.
A sense of foolishness and awkwardness washed over her, and she couldn’t help but glance out the window, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Not long after, Leo climbed back into the pilot’s seat, followed by Luke, Dave, and Xavier, who all settled back into their own seats.
Those watching from the side were clearly surprised by the sudden shift, and even the guide ran toward the helicopter, clearly confused by what was happening, as his guests were abruptly leaving.
The people tasked with guarding the helicopter were currently helping refuel it, as Hera and the others had been out for quite a while and the helicopter needed a refill.
As soon as they noticed Hera and the others were back, they quickly removed the fuel canister and put on the lead before running far away from the helicopter.
