“As I’ve been authorized by the president to disclose this information in order to clear my name, let me break it down for you,” Vince began, his tone steady but laced with contempt.

“These individuals conspired with a political rival of the president, aiming to use the country’s largest foreign company to hold the economy hostage, all to manipulate the sudden re-election in favor of a so-called ‘competitive’ leader.”

“To accomplish this, they planted a corporate spy right beside me—none other than my own assistant. That’s how they were able to replace the original files in the archives with tampered versions, all while leaving little trace.”

“And who could possibly have the access and authority to pull that off but someone I trusted the most?” Vince scoffed, his words dripping with self-mockery.

He couldn’t believe that his first major failure was misjudging someone’s character—someone he had placed so close to himself, entrusting them with critical documents and sensitive information.
