Chapter 72: Chapter 72 Moving In
After a long night of packing, Hera and the other servants arrived at the Dragon Jade Building to unpack her belongings with the assistance of the male servants. They worked together to move the heavy luggage from the truck into her new residence.
Hera found herself free from the need to supervise the moving process, as Cindy had taken charge of that responsibility. Their family bodyguards also assisted by driving her five cars to her exclusive garage, creating quite a spectacle on the road and in front of the building. Eventually, the cars were parked in the reserved parking lot designated solely for Hera’s use.
With nothing else to occupy her, Hera sat upright in the lobby, idly scrolling through her phone, feeling bored.
“Oh! What a coincidence, Missy?!” A loud, full-of-vigor voice echoed through the lobby, catching Hera’s attention and prompting her to look up to see who had spoken.
Recalling the encounter with the elderly gentleman from her previous visit to the building during the penthouse viewing, Hera greeted him warmly. “Hello again, Mr. Ainsley.” Her genuine smile exuded warmth, eliciting a nod of appreciation from Victor.
However, Hera couldn’t help but notice Luke standing behind Victor. He was dressed in Under Armour sweatpants and a tank top, which accentuated his muscular physique. His strong biceps and prominent blue veins were clearly visible, while his chest and abdominal muscles were subtly outlined by the tight fabric of his tank top.
Hera couldn’t help but openly admire Luke’s physique, her fascination evident in her gaze. Her unabashed admiration elicited a hearty chuckle from Luke, who moved closer to her before greeting her with a warm smile, “Good morning, Miss Ainsley.”
It would be an understatement to say that Hera was drooling over his body.
Luke’s appearance suggested he had just completed a morning run or workout, evidenced by the glistening sheen of sweat on his body and the slight dampness of his hair.
“But hell! It only made him more HOTTER!” Hera’s inner scream.
“Oh! You two already acquainted?” Victor inquired with a hint of confusion in his voice.
Luke did not break his eye contact with Hera as he answered Voctor’s question. “She was also at the Charity Auction last night. We had the opportunity to converse and get acquainted.”
“Oh!!!” Victor’s voice was laced with disappointment because he chose not to attend the Auction to stay home. “I should have attended as well,” Victor remarked, expressing a hint of regret.
His initial disappointment quickly gave way to enthusiasm as he inquired, “Are you moving in?”
After being caught red-handed for openly admiring Luke, Hera quickly averted her gaze from him to respond to Victor’s question with a composed expression, as if she hadn’t been affected. “Yes, I am moving in,” she replied, maintaining her smile.
“That’s great! When will you have your housewarming?” Victor eagerly inquired.
“I don’t think I’ll have one because I’ll be away for some time,” Hera replied.
“Where are you going?!” Victor asked, before realizing he may have been asking too many questions and quickly stopped, concerned that Hera might feel uncomfortable.
“I’ll be joining a Variety Show tomorrow, and it will last for a week, so I won’t be able to throw a housewarming party,” Hera explained openly to Victor. She noticed the elderly gentleman’s shy demeanor, reminiscent of her own grandfather, and felt no need to keep it a secret from him. Besides, her participation in the broadcast meant her whereabouts wouldn’t be a secret at all.
“You’re a celebrity?” Luke inquired, diverting Hera’s attention back to him.
Hera nodded. “Yes, I just got signed,” she confirmed.
“Under what company?” Luke further inquired, unaware that Rafael had already signed Hera He hadn’t heard about it from Rafael, who had only grumbled about not being able to persuade her to sign with his company.
“Universal Entertainment,” Hera answered honestly.
Luke’s eyebrow arched in surprise, realizing that UE was SOE’s rival company. He had assumed Rafael and Hera were closer than that, but evidently, he was mistaken. A dangerously beautiful smile graced his lips upon hearing her answer.
He felt a pang of sympathy for his friend, realizing Rafael had lost out on a lucrative opportunity. However, he couldn’t help but feel elated knowing that Rafael would now have a difficult time approaching Hera, while he himself would have more opportunities. A genuine smile spread across his face, perhaps for the first time in a while.
Hera couldn’t help but feel puzzled by Luke’s sudden happiness. She briefly entertained the thought that he might be planning something against her, but then she remembered that she hadn’t offended him in any way, so she felt safe.
Fortunately, Cindy arrived at just the right moment. “Young Miss, we’re done unloading the luggage upstairs. They’re just arranging your things in place,” she informed Hera.
This made a perfect gateway for Hera to exit the conversation with Luke.
Luke’s eyes watched Hera’s interaction with Cindy intently, like a hawk. He had encountered Cindy a few times before and, like everyone else, he understood her significance to the Avery Family. Luke’s golden eyes shimmered with an array of emotions, mirroring the swirling thoughts in his mind, which remained unknown.
As Hera and Cindy entered the penthouse, they found the space abuzz with activity as everyone worked diligently to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.

Amidst the bustle, a female chef, slightly older than Hera, cheerfully whistled as she moved some boxes into the kitchen, aided by a male servant tackling the heavier items.
Cindy followed Hera’s line of sight and explained, “She’s the daughter of the chef who’s been preparing your meals at the mansion. She’s earned numerous international awards by competing in various contests and has mastered a wide range of international cuisines, following in her father’s footsteps. She aspires to emulate his culinary prowess.” Cindy paused briefly before adding, “You’re sure to enjoy her cooking.”
Hera smiled. “I can’t wait to give her dishes a taste.”
‘I guess having a chef at home isn’t such a bad idea…’
Truth be told, Hera’s cooking skills are decent, but they can’t quite match up to those of a professional chef. As a dedicated foodie, she couldn’t resist the idea of having delicious meals prepared for her every day.
Ding…
Hera checked her phone after receiving a text message.
[Athena: Babe, I heard you’re moving out. I was actually planning to take you out.]
[Hera: Is this your way of apologizing? Hmm? (side_eye_grin_emoji)]
[Athena: Hihihi, well… Let’s eat out? (cute_face_emoji)]
[Hera: Why don’t you come over to my place instead? I was just about to indulge in some of my chef’s culinary skills… (drooling_emoji)]
Hera then shared her location with Athena before settling onto the couch. With nothing pressing to attend to, she watched as the servants arranged the indoor plants, brought from the greenhouse, near the floor-to-ceiling window beside the couch and ivory piano.
They also brought in some vibrant flowers, which Hera often enjoyed seeing in the garden during her walks. Inspired by the fresh blooms and the lively atmosphere they brought to the room, she suddenly felt the urge to play the piano, and so she did.
She slowly approached the beautiful ivory piano, running her fingers over its smooth body before taking a seat in the center. The servants momentarily paused their work, expectantly awaiting the Young Miss’s performance. They were excited, as they had yet to hear her play any instrument.
Hera let her mood guide her fingers as she began to play ‘River Flows In You by Yiruma.’ The soothing melody filled every corner of the penthouse, reaching even the rooms with open doors.
As Hera’s music filled the room, a tranquil atmosphere settled over everyone, easing their tasks as they listened to her play. When it seemed like the melody was coming to an end, Hera seamlessly transitioned into ‘Canon in D by Pachelbel,’ captivating her listeners with the timeless piece.
The serene atmosphere shifted gears as her melody seamlessly transitioned to ‘Liszt – La Campanella’. The servants found themselves involuntarily nodding along at the beginning of the tune, but as the piece escalated in speed, their breath caught in their throats, captivated by Hera’s performance.
As the piece neared its apparent conclusion, they anticipated Hera’s end of performance. Yet, to their surprise, her melody seamlessly transitioned again, this time to ‘Chopin – Étude Op. 10 No. 4’. It began with a rapid tempo and continued the same tempo all throughout. Entranced, everyone halted their tasks to admire Hera’s performance, illuminated by the sunlight streaming in from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The reflection from the ivory piano and Hera’s face created an ethereal combination. One of the servants, captivated by the moment, couldn’t resist capturing a video of her performance. She had started recording during the middle of ‘River Flows In You’, enchanted by Hera’s performance and eager to preserve it for future listening. Surprisingly, no one intervened to stop her; they too were engrossed in the music, unable to tear themselves away from the enchanting melody.
