Chapter 768: Chapter 768 Something Happened To Leo?
After the buzz online from Hera’s giveaway, the days passed relatively peacefully for her. Her routine became repetitive—script readings, online classes, studying, and designing—without even once seeing the faces of her lovers.
They only kept in touch through constant check-in messages. Because they were all extremely busy and wracked with guilt over not being able to spend time with her, they flooded Hera with flowers and gifts.
Her living room now resembled a flower shop, overflowing with blooms of every kind. Amy was at a loss as to where to put the next batch.
And it wasn’t just flowers—there were luxurious gifts too: jewelry, designer bags, clothes, property deeds, equity shares, and more. Hera felt a headache brewing just thinking about how to deal with all of it if they kept this up.
Instead of texting each of them individually, Hera typed out one message, copied and pasted it a few times—but quickly realized how tedious that was going to be. So, she did the smarter thing: she created a new group chat, added all of them in, and sent the message once. Problem solved.
[Hera: I truly appreciate all the gifts and flowers—you’ve all been incredibly sweet. But honestly, you don’t have to send something every single day. My entire living room is already overflowing with flowers, and the gifts are piling up like I’m starting a boutique. I can’t wear rings on all ten fingers or stack bracelets up to my elbows, you know!]
[Hera: I understand how busy you all are right now, and it’s okay—I miss you too. You’ve told me more than once that you miss me, and I believe you. But please don’t feel guilty for not being here. As much as we value each other, we also need to value our careers, and I’m okay with that.]
[Dave: Sweetheart, don’t you love me anymore? Have you grown tired of me?]
[Dave: (ˊ͈ ᐞ ˋ͈ ƪ)]
[Leo: Wifey 。・゚゚・(>⌓<)・゚゚・。]
[Rafel: Little Minx, don’t you like the gifts I have given you? Or the flowers?]
[Leo: Wifey, don’t be burdened. I’ll straighten these men for you so they won’t bother you.]
[Hera: Eh? That’s not what I mean, though?]
[Leo: Don’t worry, wifey, I got this.]
[Leo: ( •̀ᄇ• ́)ﻭ✧]
…
[Six Musketeer Group Chat]
[Leo: See, now my wife feels burdened by your excessive gifting! Stop being a bother and pretend as if you are dead.]
[Zhane: I think you misunderstood what Hera meant?]
[Luke: Right, you want us to stop sending gifts so you can continue to pamper her with flowers and gifts, standing out among the rest? But since we are all doing the same, you feel like we stole your spotlight?]
[Xavier: So childish…]
[Xavier: (¬_¬) ]
[Dave: Right, you are so childish, Leo, you should be ashamed!]
[Dave: ( `皿´)ノ゙]
[Rafael: ╭∩╮( ̄ヘ ̄)╭∩╮]
[Rafael: You should be ashamed…]
[Xavier: Ashamed…]
[Leo: Oh?! So now, you are working together against me? ]
[Leo: (ง •̀_•́)ง]

[Zhane: Alright, children, stop fighting…]
[Dave: Who’s fighting?]
[Leo: Who’s a child?]
[Zhane: Leo, something seems to be wrong with you these days. You are so agitated and easy to provoke. Is there a problem? Maybe we could help.]
[Luke: Now that you mention it, that does seem correct. Usually, even if Dave taunts him, he just acts nonchalant and smugly taunts back. But now, he is acting so weird. Are you really Leo?]
…
“Holy shit! Did I mess up the boss’s impression? Are they already starting to suspect me?!” Terry panicked, gnawing at his nails.
“Terry, it’s because you acted way too jealous!” the young male doctor whispered harshly, shooting nervous glances around them. “Have you not seen how the boss handles his love rivals? He never takes them seriously! Even if he does, he acts like some high-and-mighty empress, treating everyone else like concubines under his rule. But you? You acted like a jealous kid fighting for attention!”
He looked up at Terry with growing dread. “You’re so dead when the boss wakes up…”
“It’s not that far off… Boss acts like that around them too, you know,” Terry muttered in his defense—only to get smacked on the back of his head.
“Yeah, right,” the young doctor rolled his eyes. “He does act like that, but not all the time—and definitely not like you. You’ve been looking for trouble, Terry. We’ve been carefully sending gifts to his beloved every day so she wouldn’t worry, thinking Boss is just busy—not dead or missing!”
He leaned in closer, lowering his voice as if the walls had ears. “But now, thanks to your dramatic outbursts and how easily you get provoked, people are starting to suspect something’s up. If Young Madam Hera finds out that something’s wrong with the Boss…” He gulped, voice dropping to a whisper. “We’re dead meat the moment he wakes up.”
“S-Shut up! I’m at my wits’ end too, alright?!” Terry snapped, voice trembling. “I didn’t expect we’d get ambushed by those scoundrels, and for Boss to lose so much blood… for him to end up in a coma like this.”
He paced a little before gripping his hair in frustration. “We can’t even stay here for long—and this, this is the best I can do to help him! I’ve been so on edge lately that I keep breaking character whenever I interact with his love rivals. But can you really blame me?!” He growled, exasperated.
Terry’s eyes fell to the cracked screen of Leo’s phone in his hand, then slowly shifted to the man lying motionless on the bed. Even in sleep, Leo’s brows were drawn together, and his lips were pressed into a tight line as if still enduring pain.
“Sigh…” The young doctor let out a heavy breath, slumping against the wall. “There’s really not much we can do now. All we can do is wait—wait for Boss’ people to break in and rescue us, and finally use that plan he’s been preparing for so long to deal with those bastards.”
His voice trembled with unease. “Those men are ruthless. They’ll stop at nothing to get what they want. If we don’t find a way out of here soon… Boss might actually die in the middle of nowhere, deep in this godforsaken forest.” He whimpered and pulled his knees to his chest. “I don’t wanna die either! I just got this job as Boss’ personal doctor, and now this? Huhuhu… I’m too young to die…”
“Shut up!” Terry snapped, his nerves frayed. “Don’t jinx us, damn it! This is probably your bad luck rubbing off on Boss! You just got here and look what happened!”
“That’s not fair!” the young doctor snapped back, his voice rising. “Why are you blaming everything on me? It’s not like I planned for us to get tailed and ambushed! How was I supposed to know they’d send a damn death warrior after us? That thing almost wiped us all out!”
He visibly shivered at the memory, his expression pale. The events of that day were still burned into his mind—the chaos, the blood, the overwhelming pressure. They had just completed a mission, barely escaping their enemies.
Leo had already taken some hits—bullet grazes, knife wounds—but he carried himself like he wasn’t hurting at all, like pain was just an afterthought.
But on their way back to the safe house, their entire convoy was bombed. Landmines had been planted along the forest road they traveled, making it clear that their route had been compromised. Someone had leaked their location.
