Chapter 769: Chapter 769 Competition
Suspicion immediately fell on the new doctor. Terry, already on edge and paranoid, could only think of one person close enough to potentially switch sides—the young doctor assigned to Leo.
If Leo hadn’t been critically injured, and if the doctor weren’t their only medical personnel, Terry might’ve killed him on the spot.
Instead, he confiscated the doctor’s communication devices, tore through his belongings with a fine-toothed comb, and even gave him a full pat-down.
At one point, Terry looked so serious and determined that the young doctor genuinely feared he’d go as far as checking his butthole just to make sure he wasn’t hiding anything.
They had been holed up in one location, with minimal manpower and resources. Fortunately, the young doctor had come well-prepared, bringing nearly everything he could possibly need.
Some of the guards even shared Leo’s blood type, which allowed them to stabilize him and buy some time.
They managed to hide in a remote cabin deep in the woods, but despite their efforts, Leo remained in a coma. His injuries were severe, and without proper medical attention, they were at serious risk of infection.
Some of his wounds had already started to fester, and all the doctor could do was clean the wounds and carefully remove the infected tissue to prevent the spread.
But this was only a temporary solution; at some point, Leo would need proper hospital care, or his condition could deteriorate beyond their ability to save him.
The problem was, aside from Leo’s phone, which had a secure firewall and advanced anti-spying software, all of Terry and the others’ communication devices had been destroyed by themselves to prevent any trace of their movements.
The only reason they were holding onto Leo’s phone was because it was connected to software that linked to the internal system of Leo’s company’s mainframe, allowing them to track his whereabouts.
However, with the knowledge that there was an insider in their midst, Terry and his team were being extra cautious, moving in complete secrecy.
Right now, they had no idea who the traitor was, and they didn’t know where to start looking. If only Leo was awake, he might have been able to come up with a plan, which was why Terry felt the weight of so much pressure. He also knew how much Leo valued Hera, and even before falling into his coma, Leo’s last words to Terry were to make sure not to worry Hera.
In his desperation, Terry began sending gifts and flowers to Hera under his boss’s name. He even summoned the courage to unlock Leo’s phone, scanning the top two messages—one from Hera and another from a group chat titled ‘Six Musketeers,’ where Leo’s rivals gathered.
Terry, in an effort to cover his tracks, imitated Leo’s communication style, thinking he was doing a decent job. However, there were moments when he was easily provoked, and despite only a few days of impersonating Leo, the others were already beginning to grow suspicious. Terry could feel his nerves starting to unravel under the pressure.
Bang. Bang.
Bang.
A series of gunfire echoed from a distance, and then the door burst open, a guard stumbling inside, his shoulder bleeding. “Sir Terry, we need to move now! The enemy has our location!” he shouted, looking back nervously.
Without hesitation, he moved toward Leo, covering him with a quilt. “Hurry, help me carry him to the back door! The others won’t hold the line much longer!” he urged, his voice tight with urgency.
Terry froze for a moment, as though his mind had short-circuited, but then he quickly regained his composure, slipping Leo’s phone into his pocket. Without a word, he moved to assist the guard, helping to lift Leo’s unconscious body.
Behind them, the young doctor hurried, medical kit in hand, trying to match their pace as they rushed toward the rear exit.
“What’s going on?! How could they still track us after we cut off all communication with the outside world?” the young doctor asked anxiously, stumbling behind Terry. But no one answered him. Terry and the bodyguard quickened their pace, racing through the dense forest.
The bodyguard, looking over his shoulder, let out a sharp whistle, signaling to the rest of the team that they had managed to escape. It was a sign that they hadn’t met their end in this place yet, that there was still a chance to retreat and regroup safely.
Terry, the bodyguard carrying Leo, and the young doctor ran through the forest with every ounce of strength they had, each footfall pounding against the earth as they pushed forward.
Meanwhile, Hera, after sending a message to everyone to prepare for the outing, was getting ready for the IGI Expressions Competition. Today, she chose an ensemble that was both smart and artistic, sophisticated yet imposing.
She wore a mint green pencil skirt with a daring slit on the left side, accentuating her hourglass figure while revealing just enough of her long legs. Paired with a silver silk blouse, the outfit was the perfect balance of elegance and power.
Her choice of accessories complemented her look — black Cesare Paciotti high heels added height and confidence, while her favorite Matisse Ascher Square Océanie La Mer scarf was tied neatly around her neck. She tied her hair into a sleek high bun, adding a pair of large pearl earrings that glinted with every movement, and slipped on her Graff Hallucination watch, a symbol of her impeccable taste.
Hera exuded an aura of sophistication and wealth. It was clear to anyone who knew their fashion that every piece she wore was top-tier, chosen with an eye for the finest details.
Once she was finished, Hera spritzed herself with the scent of her Love Potion perfume, the fragrance lingering in the air like a soft whisper. She grabbed her Diamond Himalaya Birkin bag, the epitome of luxury, and tucked the folder containing her latest designs under her arm. As she descended the stairs, Amy and Hannah greeted her with warm smiles.

“Do your best, Young Miss. We’ll be supporting you from here!” Amy said, her voice full of pride.
“Thank you, Amy, and thank you, Hannah,” Hera replied, offering them a wide, sweet smile that made Amy’s heart swell. She couldn’t help but tear up a little. It was only now that she truly realized how far Hera had come.
Not long ago, she had treated Hera like a young child, but now, seeing her poised and accomplished, Amy couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of pride. Hera had grown so much, achieving one milestone after another.
With a bittersweet smile, she thought of Hera’s parents in heaven, knowing they must be looking down with joy, proud of the remarkable woman their daughter had become in both her career and love life.
“Young Miss, I prepared a sandwich for you,” Hannah said with a gentle smile as she handed over a neatly wrapped pack. “I know you don’t want to be late for the competition, so I made something easy to eat on the go. Besides, didn’t you mention that Miss Athena and Miss Liz would be accompanying you? I’ve already prepared some for them too.”
And as if perfectly cued by Hannah’s words, the front door swung open with a burst of energy. Athena strode in like a whirlwind, with Liz following right behind her, a bit more composed but clearly used to Athena’s theatrics.
“Babe! I’m here to pick you up!” Athena called out as she marched straight into the living room, grinning like she owned the place.
