Chapter 803: Chapter 803 Would You Participate?
After an hour of nonstop assessments and comings and goings, the doctors and nurses finally left Leo’s ICU room to check on others, like Terry and the rest.
It was only once the chaos had settled that Zhane noticed something odd: more of the veteran soldiers were stationed in almost every corner of the entire floor.
Aside from Leo and his group, no one else was allowed on this level. The heavy presence of medical staff made it clear that Leo and the others were being treated as VIP patients, receiving the highest priority and respect.
Zhane couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Hera, who was silently staring at the ICU’s glass wall. From their position, they couldn’t see Leo lying in the bed—only the various machines surrounding him and the sterile white walls.
Hera seemed lost in thought, her mind clearly racing with countless worries. Zhane knew he couldn’t stop her from overthinking, but he could offer her comfort in the form of his presence.
He tightened his arm around her waist, a silent reassurance that he was there with her. The faintest tug at the corner of Hera’s lips hinted at a smile before she sank back into her thoughts.
The two of them sat there in silence for a long while, the quiet between them carrying a sense of peaceful understanding. Eventually, Zhane stood up, gently taking Hera’s hands in his.
“Come on, it’s well past lunchtime,” he said with a playful tone. “You can’t forget to take care of yourself, even when you’re worried. Otherwise, you won’t have the energy to worry later.”
Hera glanced up at him, her gaze meeting his serious expression. Her shoulders slumped in a sigh of defeat. She knew Zhane was concerned about her health, and she understood that this moment of care was out of genuine worry for her well-being.
In truth, she appreciated his efforts—especially considering his position as the leading doctor of his family’s hospital. He should have been busy, but he’d chosen to stay by her side, and that spoke volumes. With a quiet nod, she accepted his care, not wanting to make it difficult for him.
Hera stood up and, without a word, followed Zhane as he led her toward the hospital’s cafeteria. To her surprise, the cafeteria spanned two levels. The first level was the more casual area, catering to a wide range of people—from those with modest means to the middle class. The food there was affordable, healthy, and surprisingly delicious, offering a reasonable variety for all.
The second level, however, was reserved for wealthier individuals who sought a more luxurious dining experience. The dishes served were made with fine ingredients, crafted by talented chefs, and priced accordingly for those who were willing to indulge in a more refined meal.
The cafeteria was surprisingly crowded, with people treating it more like a restaurant than a hospital dining area. For patients, this meant they no longer had to leave the hospital to grab fast food from outside.
Instead, they could get a satisfying meal right there, without worrying about the price, hygiene, or taste. It was no wonder the cafeteria was so busy, with business thriving.
Even the second level, which catered to the more affluent, had its fair share of diners.
Wealthy patients weren’t immune to getting sick, and rather than sending their assistants out to fetch takeout from five-star hotels and high end restaurants, the hospital had cleverly capitalized on the opportunity to provide gourmet meals within its own walls.
This way, the food was not only fresher, but it could also retain its heat, ensuring it arrived at the patients’ tables in perfect condition without being overcooked due to the thermal containers.
Hera couldn’t help but glance at Zhane, a small smile tugging at her lips.
‘Indeed, the male leads are always looking for ways to improve their family’s business,’ she thought, amused. Zhane had clearly seized this opportunity to further promote his family hospital and increase their income without missing a beat. Lost in her thoughts, she didn’t even realize she was softly giggling to herself as she followed him.
Zhane, however, seemed fully aware of her presence. He didn’t let go of her hand but instead intertwined his fingers with hers, making their connection appear even more intimate. As they walked, it was clear to anyone who glanced their way that they were a couple—sweet, comfortable, and united.
The second-level dining area exuded a quiet, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere. Each table was surrounded by soft cream-colored sofas, making it ideal for family meals or a romantic date.
Indoor plants were strategically placed around the seating areas, serving as dividers between tables. These plants were tall enough to provide privacy without obstructing the view, allowing diners to take in the entire ambiance of the cafeteria.
While this cafeteria shared some similarities with the one downstairs, it had a few key differences. Like downstairs, it was self-service, but the food here was made to order.
Unlike the downstairs cafeteria, where pre-cooked meals were displayed in front of glass windows and kept warm in heaters, this cafeteria ensured every dish was freshly prepared.
The chefs began cooking only after receiving an order, and the menu changed daily depending on the ingredients available. In a way, the cafeteria operated much like a restaurant, offering personalized meals and ensuring the freshest experience for every diner.
One of the best features of this cafeteria was that most of the chefs were also trained nutritionists, both in the first and second dining areas. This unique combination ensured that the meals weren’t just delicious but also packed with nutrients essential for the patients’ recovery.
Every dish was thoughtfully prepared to support healing, making it a perfect blend of taste and health.
It was Hera’s first time visiting the hospital’s cafeteria, and she couldn’t help but be impressed by the atmosphere. As Zhane guided her to a seat, he then headed to the front to place their order. After ordering, he was given a number and a pager that would buzz when the food was ready for pickup. While they waited, a comfortable silence settled between them. Zhane didn’t push her to talk—he respected her need for quiet reflection. Instead, he simply watched her, the tenderness in his gaze unmistakable.
Ring…
At that moment, Hera’s phone rang again. She lazily reached out and answered without checking the caller ID.

“Hello? Hera speaking.”
“Hera! It’s Danny Coleman. I’ve got news—the next racing competition is happening in France in just a few days. We need to fly out soon to participate.”
Danny’s voice carried a hint of nervousness, uncertain whether Hera would agree to join. Upon hearing this, Hera instinctively looked up at Zhane.
Leo was still in the hospital, and although Zhane had told her to do what she needed to, worry and hesitation still lingered in her heart.
So, Hera didn’t answer right away, and on the other end of the line, Danny waited patiently—though nervously—for her response. After all, the racing competition in France was world-renowned, held across some of the most prestigious circuits in the country.
Top racers from around the globe would be participating, including reigning champions. If Hera joined and managed to clinch another victory, it wouldn’t just elevate her status—it would mean she had bested the best, bringing her even greater glory and recognition on the international stage.
