Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Slander?
“Didn’t you guys express interest in spending time with him? How does that become my responsibility?” Hera challengingly asked.
“Huh! You know Alice is a newbie and unaware of Xavier’s temperament, yet you pushed her to seek him out!” Minera roared in response to Hera’s question, without as much as understanding her question.
Hera couldn’t help but sarcastically snort as she asked. “Am I not a newbie here as well?”
But Minerva did not care, she already had a beef with Hera so adding another is not really a big deal but her words are dripping with malice. “Newbie?! What are you even doing in the entertainment industry anyway? Riding on the coattails of a sugar daddy, perhaps?”
Unaware that they were being broadcasted live, Minerva let her temper flare, confident that any undesirable scenes could be edited out later. She didn’t bother to restrain herself, knowing they could manipulate the footage as needed.
“Ha! People with black hearts will view the world with tainted lenses because they use their own self as a basis… Tell me, Minerva, Isn’t that your specialty,?” But Hera did not falter, she retorted with an equally mocking tone while her arms were crossed.
Her demeanor, typically gentle and elegant, underwent a 180-degree transformation, akin to a flaming red spider lily. Beautiful yet imposing, her presence alone exuded a different kind of pressure. She wasn’t shouting or cursing, but every word she uttered sent shivers down Minerva’s spine. Despite the intimidation, Minerva was determined not to back down and was intent on teaching Hera a lesson.
She seized the opportunity to humiliate Hera and put her in her place, but she hadn’t anticipated Hera’s fearless response. Without so much as a blink, Hera faced her squarely, even challenging her directly.
“Why would I even need a sugar daddy when I come from a wealthy family?”
“Then, I couldn’t help but wonder why a young lady from such a prestigious family would choose to destroy a relationship rather than seek another. After all, eligible suitors are hardly in short supply, are they?”
“Stop slandering me!!!!”
“If you consider it slander when it’s the truth, what about the baseless accusations you’ve made against me? Are you all looks and no substance?” Hera tilted her head to the side and couldn’t help but sneer at Minerva, which successfully struck a nerve.
While Hera maintained a demeanor of gentleness and kindness, Athena’s influence from a young age equipped her with the ability to confront vicious individuals with her own brand of verbal prowess. Unyielding when necessary, Hera refused to back down from confrontation and could exhibit a surprising level of pettiness when pushed.
Only a select few individuals had the ability to provoke Hera to such a degree, and Minerva happened to be one of them.
“Hera, could you please refrain from quarreling with Minerva, for my sake?” Alexi pleaded, casting a hopeful glance at Hera. Despite everything, he clung to the memory of Hera’s words at the class reunion, believing that she still harbored some concern for him.
He understood that Hera was annoyed by his actions, yet he sensed that she still harbored feelings for him. Despite this, he struggled to find the right moment to talk to her, hindered by Minerva’s persistent presence by his side. A sickening feeling gnawed at his stomach as he felt his freedom slipping away.
He clung to this belief like glue, enduring each day with a longing gaze directed at Hera while concealing his true feelings. Every moment without her felt like torture, a constant ache in his heart.
[AuntieNextDoor: Wait!!!! Does that mean?!!!]
[PasserbyGod: So it was true!!!! Hera and Alexi was really an item?!!!! And Minerva was….. (ΦωΦ^)]
[HeraismySister: I know sister Hera was not that kind of person… It’s just the typical Pot calling the Kettle black… Minerva just looks like a shrew
(╯◣﹏◢)╯]
[NorthernDuke: And who is this insect? Hmm?! Can anyone care to explain?!]
[Dave_Carson: @EntertainmentKing, why did you suddenly went silent hmmm?!]
[FatherOfCaduceus: @EntertainmentKing You only burry yourself in your work and failed in disciplining (-_-)]
[AuntieNextDoor: @NorthernDuke Sir, there was a controversy before alleging that Hera was Alexi’s stalker and an extreme fan attempting to sabotage his relationship with Minerva. However, Hera denied these claims in a live interview before too. Numerous theories and evidence suggested that Hera was actually Alexi’s girlfriend, with Minerva being portrayed as the third party, but such discussions were promptly deleted.]
Certainly, NorthernDuke’s question was a calculated move to reignite the controversy and fuel speculation once more. He was fully cognizant of Alexi’s significance in the situation. Had it not been for Alexi’s presence, NorthernDuke might have Hera all to himself by now. The mere thought of Hera being romantically involved with someone else left him feeling utterly heartbroken, even going as far as doing a drastic measure like severing ties with everyone in the country just to distance himself from her.
He seized every chance to emphasize Alexi’s character flaws and assert his own ownership over Hera.
Indeed, behind the username “NorthernDuke” lurked none other than Leo Hendrix himself.
[NorthernDuke: Doesn’t that mean that he chose money over love? Or what? Does he want to keep both?! (¬‿¬)]
[EntertainmentKing: @NorthernDuke Don’t spread false rumors, it will be detrimental to the celebrities and might even lead to legal battles if you go too far.]

And of course, this guy was Rafael, he was intimidating Leo and insinuating that he would go after him if he went too far with his taunting. Even if Leo was talking about Alexi, it would still drag his sister down the drain if it was truly proven that everything was true.
[NorthernDuke: @EntertainmentKing, I don’t understand why are you trying to intimidate me with legal battles. This is the sole reason why there are scumbags and shrews walking this earth, it’s because there are people who enabled their behavior and tolerated them. Right @EntertainmentKing?]
[EntertainmentKing: ….]
“Mr. Ford, instead of asking me to stop. Why don’t you ask your girlfriend not to go around bitting people… Hmm?” Hera shrugged her shoulders and kept a nonchalant demeanor which only made Minerva even more livid.
Hera had a knack for finding and pressing the exact buttons of those she disliked, refusing to silently endure any disparagement directed at her.
A pitiful, almost angelic voice echoed from where the other participants were huddled. “Please, stop fighting. It was no one else’s fault…” She hiccuped and continued, “I know Minerva was only worried for my sake, and emotions got the better of her. Please, Hera, don’t make trouble for her.”
Alice’s words were gentle, infused with concern for the person showing her concern. They radiated kindness, highlighting Alice’s magnanimity and her selfless consideration for others’ well-being, even amidst her own grievances.
Others’ evaluation of her only soared to new heights, painting her as an angel. But to Hera, her words sounded contrived. “Making trouble?” Hera sneered inwardly. “How clever is this female lead for pulling off this stunt?!”
In Hera’s eyes, Alice appeared insincere, as if her words concealed a hidden blade ready to strike at any moment if Hera let her guard down.
“I hope, Alice, you’re not implying that I’m the one causing trouble with Minerva, right? Because I was the first to be attacked by accusations. I apologize for bringing our past disagreement to the table; it’s my fault. But I also hope you understand that I can be emotional too, and I’m just defending myself the best way I know how, especially since there’s no one else here to do it for me.”
Hera’s voice quivered with a trembling tone, as if on the verge of tears after being reprimand. She appeared equally pitiful as Alice as if everyone was ganging up on her. Her eyes misted over with unshed tears, her long eyelashes quivering as she slowly closed her eyes.
Hera wasn’t naive; she understood that if she persisted stubbornly, they would use it against her and paint her as unreasonable. So, she decided to retreat for now, knowing she could advance later. Besides, Alice wasn’t the only one who knew how to wield words and manipulate people as weapons.
[AuntieNextDoor: Oh no, Hera, please don’t cry… It wasn’t your fault at all. From the moment you arrived, you were unfairly attacked with accusations and slandered. Maybe in the heat of the moment, you brought up past issues to defend yourself since everyone else seemed to be shielding Alice. What could you do when it felt like everyone was against you? I feel so sorry for my little sister Hera.]
[PasserbyGod: What Alice said sounded nice and magnanimous but for me, it sounded like an attack on Hera… Hera wasn’t the one making trouble, it was Minerva… Get your facts right Alice.]
[Dubo123: Wasn’t Hera just being unreasonable?! She slandered Minerva and now, you’re attacking Alice?]
[HeraismySister: @Dubo123 you’re probably a water army!!! Do you have selective hearing or are you intentionally slandering sister Hera? It was Minerva who jumped in with slander first!!!]
