Chapter 101: Treatment
It was a sight to behold: one chipmunk and one mop were kneeling while trying to explain what actually happened.
Ollie initially pouted when he had to kneel like Luca, but he remembered that it was his project that had gotten them into that situation in the first place!
This was the most ridiculous thing ever! Every time Xavier turned around, these two would be up to no good! His mind kept on creating an image of these two dwarves happily discovering a mine and rushing to check on it with shovels and some pails.
And he was right on the money. He just didn’t imagine that Luca could and would call forth Sid like he was hailing a cab.
What do you know, when Xavier attempted to summon the mecha to be checked at the headquarters, he was surprised to find that it was gone!
“???”
Was this karma?
In exchange for taking Luca’s innocence, which he couldn’t even remember, now, his mecha was being taken away?!
The mechanics looked at him weirdly when he couldn’t produce his own mecha. But Sid was too busy panicking about the master’s wounds to abandon ship!
Only when the situation became too serious did the guardian mecha decide to tell its original owner that something terrible had happened.
Xavier felt like he was going to lose it any time soon. And even now his lectures and stare-downs weren’t working for a certain chipmunk who kept on smiling back at him.
Ollie was also dumbfounded. When he was younger, he remembered he was always chastised for eating glue, and that was probably why he was rather unhinged, but his good brother was just smiling up at the white wolf even as they were being punished!
His brother was really courageous! It seemed like he was the one wearing the pants in their family!
But Luca was smiling for a totally different reason.
The little Daredevil was actually very surprised to find one angry-looking Xavier when they exited his space. And he was preparing to explain how he had borrowed Sid without permission when he was suddenly asked to present his injuries.
Xavier’s eyes narrowed the moment he saw Luca’s hands, and hurried to disinfect the wounds before ordering Kyle to fetch a medical wand. Luca was likely allergic to the medical pod, and he didn’t want him to take such a risk to verify.
It was Luca’s first time being treated like this. While he had been to hospitals back in Tesseris, most were out of absolute necessity and other’s sheer fear of his existence, but not because they wanted to help him with his ailments or injuries.
In fact, when he woke up in the hospital after waking up in this body, he couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone was afraid of him until he realized that they likely weren’t fearing him but fearing the consequences of a Lord possibly dying on them.
And now Xavier was treating him without being scared of his blood and touch! Luca could only smile, feeling a cool and refreshing sensation with every finger that Xavier touched.
What a nice person, indeed! He hoped he could be friends with him, as he was now friends with Ollie.
Now, the friend-zoned nagger couldn’t even continue with his tirade because it was sure odd to lecture the smiley little chipmunk. He felt like a giant bully instead of a responsible adult talking to another supposed adult.
Haaaa!
Xavier felt like encountering Jax all over again, but this time, without a body that could survive getting hit by a truck!
He was preparing to say something again when Luca looked up at him before saying, “I am sorry! I miscalculated it! And I apologize for borrowing Sid without asking for permission.” Luca’s shoulders drooped because that really was a bad thing.
What if Xavier needed to fight, and he had no mecha because Luca was using him as a shuttle bus?
It was a successful hit because Xavier had to bite down his tongue to stop himself from saying anything anymore.
He was not used to this kind of battle and didn’t know how to handle fragile beings like this one.
And it continued to be a cycle of loss for the Imperial Crown Prince, who couldn’t defeat a skittish animal in their ‘battle’ for supremacy.
While a number of people were up in arms due to unruly little miners, there was another group of seniors preparing for their first battle of the year.

It was that time of year again, and various guilds were preparing to snatch away the best of this year’s new students.
This year’s first exam was different from all other years. No exam ever ended prematurely due to the skewed point accumulation or a corrupted beast attack.
Ivan, felt like this year was going to be the most interesting yet. As the Guild leader for one of the Academy’s leading Guilds—the Silver Serpents, he could tell that this year would be the year of redemption for the Royal Military Academy.
Last year’s Astral Cup was a disaster for the Royale Military Academy as it suddenly faced off with the representatives of other races.
While they were a mixed bag of students, the opponents were mainly from pure races, such as the Elves, the Orcs, the Sirens, and the Dwarves.
And the humans lost terribly.
Most of the coaches blamed it on the lack of overall resources, especially in comparison to everyone else.
But Ivan knew better. The problem was not just the resources but also the annual decrease in ability wielders.
Yes, people still had Spiritual abilities, but most could not wield their powers like those of the other races.
They faced a pummelling last year, but that was then, and this is now.
Ivan turned back his attention to the footage of the last exam and figured this was going to be a tight game of poaching.
“Ian, make sure to check on the students we’re eyeing. Don’t let the Azrens and the Vantaris get a hold of those fresh blood.” Ivan made sure to identify the opponents for this year’s recruitment.
“I’ll take care of it, Captain. But do you think they’ll join our Guild?”
“If they know what’s best for them, they surely would.” Ivan was prepared to do whatever it took to get those new kids, even if that meant holding something over them.
It was just that no one ever thought that there existed a bunch of lunatics who had no other worldly desires other than to be able to stare at a lot of money, a small hut, and good food.
