Chapter 106: Other Requirements
Instructor Moore watched the students while clutching his sides.
“Oh, ho, ho! This boy!” He tried to keep his composure because it would not be appropriate for a teacher to laugh at the students’ plight, but those older kids were really asking for it. They really have no one else to blame but themselves!
And that eager student of theirs was right in handling things. Several instructors actually had the same views and decided not to interfere since the freshmen seemed fine for now.
More than fine, actually, and it would’ve stayed that way had Baldy kept his mouth shut for good.
But he just had to taunt Luca with his remaining strength, but this time, it was a different tune.
“Say, if that badge is real, then good on you! Now, hopefully, you’ve got the money for it!” He cocked what remained of his facial hair, his eyebrow, but unknowingly got it right this time.
Luca’s resolve faltered the moment he heard the Mister say ‘money,’ and he had to ask the knowledgeable adult! Thankfully, he was back in his seat, or he would’ve had to answer to weakened knees at the mention of money!
“Mister, you said we need money?” It was a skittish voice this time, and it was rather evident that Baldy hit a sore spot!
Ah, shit! This was the collective thought of Luca’s partially little buddies because they all knew just how sensitive Luca was with money!
Ollie was clutching his fragile organs but was prepared to shout out to protect his little brother, who was clearly shorter than him. The good boy was just too affected by money, and even if he didn’t like the idea of guilds at all, he had to support Luca while the fight was going on.
“Of course, Money! You think people would just be doing charity work for you! Did you know that in our guild alone, we need more than a Billion just to operate each year?” The amount would likely be higher because mecha maintenance and pilot costs were really up there as money guzzlers.
Luca heard ‘billion’ and was ready to abandon his plans. He barely got millions, so what was that billion? How many zeroes would that even be once it went and left his terminal?!
Would he survive it?!
Xavier could see just how stunned and mortified Luca was. He had a feeling that if you told him that killing a dragon was required, the chipmunk wouldn’t flinch, but tell him you need to consistently use money to operate a guild. He’d be the first one out the door!
So, Xavier, who was duty-bound to keep a good satisfaction score and was intending to start a guild, made a straightforward choice.
“Luca, don’t panic.” Xavier moved closer to the frozen chipmunk.
“I have more than enough money to start as many guilds as you want,” Xavier whispered into Luca’s ears, and the chipmunk whipped his head as fast as possible, almost colliding with Xavier’s face.
“You have that much money?” Luca’s eyes widened. He didn’t think that Xavier was poor by any means, and he said he had no debts, but to have that much money?!
“Wow! Host! He must be good at saving! Maybe we should ask him for tips!” D-29 sounded excited, and Luca understood where this emotion was coming from. He was also very excited to ask about how to save!
“You mean it?” But Luca still had to confirm.
What if he was only saying that? His big, bright eyes looked at Xavier as if he held his hopes and dreams, and the mountain giant felt terrible about the chipmunk’s concerns.
“Yes, I’m responsible for you now, right? So forget about the cost.” Xavier sighed, unsure if this one would listen.
Luca really tried his best not to look affected. He was supposed to be the heir to a Dukedom, and money should be no object! But he just found it very difficult because the mere mention of money always seemed to grip his soul!
If only the little Guide knew how many hearts would bleed if they learned about his money concerns. It was just money, and their Young Lord had to depend on a white wolf?! The Duke would likely be hospitalized in shock, but thankfully, this was for another time.
For now, Luca’s heart was already appeased by the thought of having a sponsor!
But the shiny-headed Mister managed to zero in on his opponent’s hesitance about the money.
He figured it was best to make a mountain out of a molehill. However, he didn’t have to, as the shorty did it on his own, much to his amusement.
“Mister, thank you for informing us! We are apparently fine now. Do we need anything else to start a Guild?” Luca gave the informative uncle a thumbs up as a show of his gratitude. But, of course, to everybody else, it was another sign.
Save for Jax, who thought similarly. To him, it was good to hear from those with experience, and Luca was right to thank him.

On the other hand, Kyle thought that this new boss was such a Daredevil, daring to hit back in public like that, but he could see just how the Captain was ready to support and felt like it should be fine, right?
Debatable.
The Baldy was smoking now, and he erupted in mocking laughter as he realized what was happening.
“HAHAHAHA! What a fast transaction?! Did you sell your body just to afford a guild?”
He really couldn’t see any other way, especially when that man behind him whispered something, and the scrawny one’s expression suddenly changed.
He likely sold his body to protect his pride, no?
Now, that was below the belt, and several students gasped at the senior’s words. Several instructors even took note of this student’s conduct and planned on implementing conduct assessments.
“Host, it seems like he’s giving an outdated suggestion. According to the information I have gathered, it was now very easy to regenerate organs, so selling body parts may not be a lucrative business.” D-29 contributed its services to the discussion, and Luca got to thinking.
“Then maybe he was talking about physical work!” Luca realized that this was a good way to pay Xavier back for everything and was about to thank the Mister for his suggestion when his mouth was blocked by a hand.
Xavier was about to explode in anger, but when he saw the glint in the chipmunks’s eyes, he was dead sure he was about to say something scandalous.
It was a good thing he did it because when he asked Luca what he was planning to say, the shorty opened with something scathing.
“The uncle made a great point! You can have my body in exchange! I may not look it, but I am good at physical labor and can also cook!”
Luca knew that in terms of muscle mass, he was a little too slender, and maybe people would hesitate to avail of his services, but he was confident about his diligence and his pills!
Xavier didn’t know what to deal with first but decided to stop this guy from speaking by locking him against his chest.
His soul would leave his body if this guy didn’t stop.
By now, Ollie had recovered and was itching to take what remained of the guy’s hair.
If he was just being mean earlier, now it’s way past condescending, and if Ollie had doubts about joining a guild, now all he wants to do is take out the entirety of this guy’s guild!
“Uncle, thank you for your suggestion. I would make sure to deliver it to his father. The Duke of Kyros would love to hear how his only heir would need such a business plan.” Ollie was venomous this time.
He didn’t have the muscles for it, but he sure had the mouth!
