Chapter 139: Still Shot
When the Duke eventually calmed down, or well, looked calm enough, they decided to bring him into the space.
It was just that everyone else looked like they weren’t about to let the Duke be abducted as well.
Kyle knew it was because they were still suspects in Luca’s disappearance and could understand why they looked murderous.
“Your Grace, we don’t want to make decisions for anyone, so we must inform you that where we’re going is vital to your son.” Kyle looked serious as he stared at everyone like he was far older. Right now, he actually felt that way.
“And if there’s anyone who has even a sliver of uncertainty about their loyalty to him, he might be in danger.”
The-‘Abducted and never to see the light of day’-kind. Kyle thought as he tried to explain why they couldn’t just drag in anyone.
The Duke’s eyes narrowed at the mention of ‘danger,’ but the people of the House of Kyros were resolute.
They had already weathered the duchy’s dark years and wanted to ensure that there would be no more. At the same time, they wanted to minimize the risks, in case this student was being honest.
One of the staff said, “Your Grace, just bring Butler Gary and Steward Han at the very least. The rest of us will wait here for orders and deal with the people outside.”
There really were people clamoring about the incessant lighting strikes, and someone had to pretend to explain what was going on.
They eventually settled on that compromise, but even then, Kyle and Jax were on guard in case they needed to eliminate the Butler and the Steward.
Hopefully, they wouldn’t need to do this because that would likely be a suicide mission.
Now, because the Duke wasn’t there to witness how his son was ‘abducted,’ he was the only one who thought they had to go outside, only to be shocked at the sudden change in location.
Kyle considered where to bring them and realized that if something had gone terribly wrong, then they would likely be by the lake.
And there was no way he was bringing them there right away. It was not like they could anyway, as these guys needed to use their house doors to access the space.
The poor adjutant had to offer himself as a sacrifice as Jax eyed him desperately.
Not my house!
Anywhere but my house!
Please!
The redhead’s plants were barely old enough when he left them. What if they get culled by the angry Duke?
And the mop was too out of it to be asked, as he looked a little green in the face.
So, Kyle’s house it was.
Ollie had so many complaints.
And he would’ve ranted the entire time if he could open his mouth without barfing after he was put back on land.
The little mop actually understood why such a thing happened and why he should be grateful, and he’d likely get to that emotion once the world stopped spinning.
But for now, he wanted to complain as they walked to look for his brother.
They did find him by the lake, as expected; it was just that maybe it would’ve been better if they hadn’t.
“…”
“…”
The slighted stick could only swallow his complaints.

It was an instantaneous movement of someone who had given up on preserving his dignity.
A reflex reaction based on the earlier threats to their lives.
The mortified big brother extended his arms to be carried again.
Never mind puking. At least he would be alive to puke.
And Kyle, who stood dumbfounded, totally understood as he let the mop curl around him like a monkey.
They were probably going to die today.
What secrets?
It would just be buried with all of them!
For in front of them was a sight that no one could probably imagine.
The good little brother was straddling the mountain giant on the ground.
Meanwhile, the Captain’s white hair was splayed everywhere, blanketing the grass while his exposed chest heaved as if he were panting.
Surely a sight to see.
Xavier’s arms covered his face while Luca, the innocent brother, had one hand on the Captain’s chest, and the other was raised as he stared at it.
It was scandalous and probably all wrong, but Ollie’s mind focused on the fact that he couldn’t look at the body of his good brother’s wife.
Because right now, Xavier definitely looked like a shy wife in those dramas.
So, Ollie, in consideration, hid away, respecting his good brother while protecting himself from the Duke.
Kyle seemed durable—so far.
Now, if you ask Jax, his major concern was a probable forest fire. The smell of something burning was evident even amidst the refreshing breeze of the space.
And the tree-hugger was concerned about sparks spreading through the grass!
But he didn’t get to solve his issue as a loud thud pulled him away from his investigations.
It was the Duke who was suddenly down on his knees.
The worried papa, who had imagined all sorts of worst-case scenarios, was admittedly prepared to go on an intergalactic war for his precious son.
With how the students phrased their warning, he was already anticipating the problems they would face.
And he was preparing himself for it.
Even when they exited a quaint house, he steeled his heart.
And not even the fresh air and beautiful nature distracted him and his people from the idea that this place was likely a death trap.
So, when they got to a clearing and saw two people, the Duke was ready to go all out, like a big cat prepared with his claws.
But before the Duke could do anything, he saw his precious son, whose clothes were disheveled, as he seriously dominated another student under him.
Butler Gary once mentioned it, witnessing something alarming, but he never imagined it’d be this bad.
The pitiful student even had his arms covering his face!
Was the white-haired guy crying?!
Not to mention his clothes! The Duke’s legs went weak, and his dreams of playing battleships with his good son flew away.
Now, his thoughts were focused on buying the penitentiary where the criminals were set to mine their years away.
He was devastated.
But he was not the only one.
Xavier, the shy wife, was seriously considering burning at the stake.
If it was too much for everyone to go, then maybe he would just volunteer.
There was no need to ask anyone because their bugged-out eyes, as well as the kneeling Duke, had already given him an idea of what this all looked like.
Of course, in Xavier’s mind, he could see Luca’s flushed face, disheveled clothes, and his tears-stricken eyes.
The little chipmunk looked like he had been done.
And Xavier really was just prepared to take the blame even when all this happened because the little dragon decided to manifest raging flames from his hands.
Hence, the clothes, the burning smell, the flushed bodies, and the sudden sweat.
But just when he was going to say something, the Duke suddenly caught him off-guard.
“My son, You know your Papa loves you, right?” He wanted to reassure his son.
“But this isn’t right, and one must be responsible for taking something as important as someone’s innocence!” Even then, a good father would have to make sure to raise a good human being!
The Duke’s heart bled because his wife used to joke about how dominating their adorable kid would be if he inherited the Duke’s personality.
But what was this? He didn’t expect him to be this dominating after recovering!
Huh?
Luca, who finally realized they had company, was baffled.
Weren’t they already responsible for each other?
