Chapter 155: Unexpected Deliveries
And it was really something else.
Frankly, the Marquis knew he was in for a whole set of problems the moment he saw the samples and the freebies for these high-profile invitees.
At first, he wanted to call in private security to escort the goods but realized that doing so would draw attention to himself and his house.
What if people think he’s got a boatload of them when each chip has been accounted for and practically named?
But even still, a few noble houses assumed nothing much when they initially received an unsuspecting package.
A few people almost threw out the packages for the lack of proper etiquette and procedures.
But they stopped in their tracks when something odd sounded in the ornate box used to ship the invitation.
It was the first time they had received an auction invitation like this, and inside was a small packet.
This finally made most invitees check the invitation for instructions.
As expected, it was a grand auction invitation. But rather than noting the time and place right away, it immediately zeroed in on the gift sent with the invite.
Banana Chips.
“???”
One of the nobles who received this was obviously Princess Tharkira, who was a prime client of most auction houses.
She loved everything novel and was rather generous in paying for whatever it was that she wanted.
So, when Ada, the trusted aid, opened the gift packet that was labeled banana chips, the Princess immediately booked the fastest ship to Solara, the Capital planet of the Solaris Empire.
While she had her own spacecraft, she would have to request a battleship landing, which would take too long.
What if she missed this auction?
She might just perish on the spot!
But why not? When this thing called a Banana Chip just resonated with her soul!
It’s not that they don’t have bananas from back home, but no one ever thought of turning it into this chip.
Also, none of the bananas would give this much spiritual energy while tasting this good.
If anything, back home, what typically had spiritual energy were the bitter fruits that most animals and Orcs didn’t eat. So, they managed to grow without being picked.
And now, most of their spiritual fruits tasted somewhat bitter. Before, she thought it was already something to rejoice about.
At least they had spiritual fruits!
But what was this thing that was taking the Empire by storm?
Why was it so reminiscent of the Fruit Vendor who had left a notch in her heart?
Could it be an auction for products sold by the vendor?
That was how one determined Orc princess siphoned as much money as possible to prepare for this auction.
And while Princess Kira unknowingly got it right, a few nobles were just tasting such a good for the first time ever.
As part of the next most prominent people in the Empire, The Houses of the Four Great Dukes obviously received such invitations.

But unlike some nobles who would forever regret not taking the invite as seriously as they should have, nearly every person working for the duchies was a soldier who was definitely capable of spotting strong spiritual energy.
All packages must be checked and marked safe before being delivered to family members, so it was unsurprising that the people working at the reception area scrambled to deliver the invite to their Lords.
They weren’t sure exactly what it was, but whatever they saw was giving off too much energy when checked with visual resonance.
The staff was right to suspend all their work because the moment the respective heads or the available heirs received the package, nearly everyone rushed out on their fastest ships.
And by the time everyone arrived, Planet Solara actually looked like it was under attack.
Battleships of different sizes came in droves, and the people had to be calmed down as many panicked.
They hadn’t seen such a movement of high-level nobles and elite families in a long while.
And there wasn’t even a formal event or summons from the Imperial Palace.
While the Mylor Family actually notified the border guards of the upcoming Grand Auction, none of the Imperial Guards thought it would be to this extent.
To the point where even the Marshal would come over.
But then the Dukes came in, and people started talking about the possibility of an impending war.
This was especially true when Duke Leander, who had not been seen in ages, was seen strutting with his son and a few other students.
It was probably the first time in a while that the Capital played host to the Four Great Houses.
And Star Net was definitely buzzing with videos, photographs, and a whole lot of excerpts.
[Is it about time? Are we about to enter the Dark Ages?]
[I’m not sure, upstairs commenter, but they all seem to be heading to the same place urgently. Maybe there’s a sudden meeting?]
There were speculations everywhere, but then the Imperial Butler came rushing out of the Palace with a determined look and was caught in super high resolution.
[I knew it! I should’ve just bet my money yesterday! If the world was ending, what would I even do with my Star Coins?!]
[Upstairs commenter, while I agree, I believe you should wait because it seems like the Imperial Guards have sent out a notice.]
Because they finally had to.
Who thought that an auction would elicit such reactions from the people of the Capital?
But in the first place, which administrator didn’t listen and took precautions when the Mylor Family sent in a request for assistance?!
Someone was likely going to get sacked.
Because some nobles didn’t make it on time and only got there when the seats were nearly full, and some had to keep their escorts outside.
Frankly, this was not an oversight or double booking for the Mylors. Each family could normally bring in a few representatives, but who would imagine having so many nobles and heirs in one go?!
Really, if the Space pirates wanted to get rid of the Empire’s Backbone, then they should just bomb the Capital Auditorium!
And the Mylor Marquis could only hope for none of this to happen.
But apparently, it wasn’t external threats that should be monitored.
Maybe a few more guards were needed inside?
