Chapter 180: Seals
When everyone else thought they’d seen it all, they were surprised to hear the elders discussing possible solutions.
“A sealing Gourd! Maybe that would do?!”
“Sealing Gourd?! Are you crazy? It only looks like a demon, but however I look at it, that can’t be one!”
“Well, it eats like one!” Elder Feng hit Elder Shen with a knuckle, causing a hollow sound that pulled Luca back from his dazed state.
“Lord, what exactly are you planning to do with…this?” Elder Wei asked, his finger bones moving to make sense of the giant tortoise.
“It was a shame to leave such a good mi—pet, where it could get recontaminated again…so I decided to bring it back here.” Explained the little money grubber whose ears would’ve been pressed down had he had them on top of his head.
“Temporarily,” Luca added when he realized everyone was looking at him with bugged-out eyes.
The little chipmunk suddenly became worried and bit his lip as the elders tried to rack their ethereal brains for ideas.
“Temporarily, right?” Asked Elder Shen
“Ah! Then what about those Condensation Pearls?!”
“No, no. That’s for non-divine beasts, but however I look at this giant monstrosity, this should be classified as one.”
“I mean, just look at that?!” Elder Shen pointed at the giant tortoise that looked imposing as it munched on another stack of lettuce!
Jax had only heard of demons from tales, those that parents use to keep their children in line, but if he was now asked to describe one, he figured it would look like this!
A mega tortoise that was out to end them all! And one that he would use to tell his own children to recount the dangers of staying outside the pot!
Then one of the elders exclaimed as if remembering something important!
“Lord! Would you be able to get a hold of something like a Moonshadow cage or that Sealed Terra Marble?”
Luca asked D-29 to scan the Trove for anything similar, and what would you know, they actually found something! There was nothing on the Cage, but the marble was a hit!
“Host! There are three of them! Should we buy one?” Asked the system who actually just wanted to buy one in distress.
“Elders, do I only need to buy one?”
“Yes! Lord! Please do!”
“But Lord, make sure it’s one that’s actually empty!” Reminded Elder Feng as he recalled that notorious incident from before.
Luca had to compare, and if he was right, the two must have something in them because that astronomical price of nearly half a million CP was not something he could afford!
What could be in there that would cost that much?!
Unnecessary expense! That’s what!
Thankfully, there was one that was priced at 35,000CP.
It was gut-wrenching like every single CP he had spent.
But at least this carnage would stop!
Well, Hopefully.

Ollie was not sure what the hell was happening, but his head just followed everyone around.

Not to mention his brother, who was suddenly holding onto what looked like a black and gold marble.
“Brother, is that safe?” He asked, wondering just how that tiny marble was supposed to combat one giant ass tortoise.
“Lord, it’s supposed to work instantly when it’s thrown onto the beast!” Pointed out, Elder Shen.
It sounded convenient and safe until the lads noticed the escaping elders, who immediately hid behind a large tree.
“???”
“We apologize, Lord. Normally, there would be a release of spatial energy! And we’re not equipped to tank that! So, we’ll have to hide for a while.”
“…”
Uhhh…Okay, then.
The little chipmunk was surprised but decided that maybe their bones really weren’t strong enough.
But just as he was about to throw the marble at the beast, his hand was caught by one that was bigger.
“Hand it over. I’ll do it. Go hide with everyone else.”
It was Xavier.
And Luca wasn’t sure what to do because he had been used to doing things himself.
Was Xavier trying to be polite? Were all Princes like this?
But the sensible husband wasn’t being polite or doing this for anything other than securing this adventurous little chipmunk.
Well, or so he thought. Or would like to believe.
With how Luca thought of things, he wouldn’t be surprised if he blinked and he’d gone around to summon something out of this world.
Because Luca could, and Xavier felt pins and needles after hearing those conversations that definitely reeked of ‘another world.’
Demons? Likely true.
And as for his wife? He could probably summon one.
So, it was better to take care of things that he could.
“But why would I have to hide if you’re doing something dangerous?” Luca looked up at Xavier, genuinely curious as to why the mountain giant gets to stay while he can’t.
Luca: 1
Captain: 0
Kyle had to purse his lips because their guild leader was right. But at the same time, he figured out just how hard it would be for Xavier to get through to his wife.
What do you even do for someone who has it all?
But to begin with, was the Captain even aware of what he was doing?
And with how little game their Prince had in his body, just when would he succeed?
Well, it was Xavier’s fault.
He forgot.
The little chipmunk was not the type to hide when things like this happened. He wanted to see things and tried his best to be strong enough to do just that.
And Xavier knew what that felt like. So, he had to treat him with the same respect that he was so hungry for.
“Sorry,” sighed the Prince, who once again had to re-align his controlling tendencies.
“You don’t have to hide if you don’t want to.”
“But can I throw it? I think I could do a pretty mean throw.” Xavier added, ignoring the subtle snickering from his adjutant, who would definitely get additional training.
Luca thought about it and thought that Xavier did have better arm strength! And if anything dangerous were to happen, he could probably shield both of them!
It was just that shielding wasn’t the issue.
The elders didn’t exactly quantify this release of spatial energy. And so they weren’t prepared for it to feel like an explosion.
But it came in waves, nearly blowing off Luca, who had to be picked up by Xavier.
The little chipmunk was expecting projectiles or something similar but not waves of energy that felt like a water surge!
But if they were caught off-guard, then the guardian tortoise would’ve gotten it worse.
The Sludgeborn Tortoise, the once majestic guardian beast of Kestrel Point, was suddenly encased in a golden-blue hexagonal grid of runes and could only bellow in confusion as its form began to shrink.
Yes, shrink.
Its mountainous shell compacted, and its limbs folded inward as if the universe were forcing everything into a much smaller mold.
A much, much smaller mold.
By the time the energy waves subsided, the people and the bones watching were surprised to see one tortoise as long as an arm on the ground!
But as it happened, one guardian mecha shivered, thinking how lucky it was to escape such a fate.
Just how would he face its brethren after shrinking like that?!
“Cheep cheep!” sounded the distressed tiny tortoise.
“!!!”
And Sid realized that maybe he would be fine with a green paint job!
