Chapter 205: 07:00
As in everywhere.
People were talking about it on family group chats, work chats, and even with their bosses about being late to work to try their hand at getting a bottle.
However, some bosses were sure that a few employees might be absent because they were either too sad or too happy, depending on the results.
Oh well.
And as much as the bosses would like to say something, what do you tell your employees who were just trying to secure something important for their loved ones?
Because live streamer Dylan didn’t even need to say it, as he only smiled when someone asked about the spiritual energy content.
He could’ve made an even bigger deal about it, but doing that would likely aggravate the already exploding chat barrage.
In fact, he was only able to escape because everyone started transferring their ire and desperation into the Star Mall site to get their hands on a few ‘necessary’ items.
Nothing escaped the people of the Empire.
The blender.
The glasses.
The stirrer.
Even the ice tray was scrutinized. If they could replicate it, that little umbrella would be coming, too.
They were sold out. Obviously.
When asked why they would buy them despite not being sure if they could purchase them tomorrow, the people’s responses were optimistic.
It may not be tomorrow. But what about the next day?
Or the day after! For they would practice, and one day, they were bound to succeed.
It was one night.
And while one shop owner slumbered in the comfort of his newly received heated blanket, many citizens were getting busy.
Like the Star Mall officials who declared overtime and a massive resource allocation transfer in a bid to get it right this time.
And no one was going to sleep.
Even the soldiers of the military although they were up for a very different reason.
At first, many were planning to stay up to train their hand speeds but were surprised to be called out for a general meeting.
It was a very oddly scheduled meeting but was apparently an important one.
For they were going to discuss the allocation of the remaining spiritual products.
Yes. There was such a thing.
And it was no surprise that the soldiers couldn’t understand what it meant because since when were they capable of having extras? And since when did they have spiritual products?
Apparently, since the day the Imperial Crown Prince brokered a deal on behalf of the military. And now here they were, with exclusive items that had allowed this meeting to occur.
Candied Lemon and Orange Peels.
Now, don’t ask the higher-ups because even the Marshal only learned of this after being showered with them.

Each small piece was like an entire fruit, much to their surprise! But how could it not be when the peels were boiled with Spiritual Water?!
However, this was the knowledge that they didn’t need to know, and if there was something more pressing for them, it would be the allocation.
The few fruit purée bottles they got were automatically assigned to those classified as critical.
However, with the sheer number of peels they got and considering the potency of the small candy-looking peels, they were surprised to learn that there would be extras.
That was after the front liners were allocated most of the peels and even after designating a contingency for emergencies.
There were still extras.
This realization was mind-numbing, and Deputy Officer Curtis almost teared up.
The problem was how to fairly allocate the extras.
It wasn’t enough for everyone else, but it was probably enough for a fleet. So, the Marshal thought of using it as an incentive.
This announcement came with dissuading the soldiers from participating in the civilian Star Mall grab to give the others a better chance, considering they had their own channel.
Obviously, this was a massive hit, especially for those who hounded the poor Officer about getting these rations.
However, they couldn’t imagine just how much hitting they would have to endure for these peels.
So, while the civilians were planning for their early morning fight, the soldiers were actually up all night trying to fight for their respective fleets.
But at least they were brawling amongst each other and didn’t have to face the day of reckoning, unlike the average citizens.
The morning started with a barrage of comments, encouragement, and a little bit of wishful thinking. But the moment the clock hit 06:59, there was absolute silence nearly everywhere, including the Imperial Palace.
Thankfully, clicking on their terminals was soundless, or else a cacophony of finger clicks would definitely be resounding everywhere.
And this quiet scene lasted for about two minutes before it was broken by Princess Nina plopping onto the ground.
It was a failure, and while the staff all figured this would happen, none of them had the guts to tell the eager princess, who even skipped bedtime just for this.
So they all tried as a backup, but who asked everyone else to be way faster than a bunch of old men and women who could only watch as the number flashed to 0?
The baby Princess was distraught.
She had dreamed of that very pretty-looking strawberry, only for her dreams to be dashed.
But she shouldn’t cry.
Because big girls don’t cry! But sometimes… sometimes it was impossible not to, especially when your Big Brother asks about your welfare.
And Nina, the Princess who had tried to grow up fast, showed a very rare side of whining to her brother as she talked about her recent failure.
Luca watched all this as the Imperial Prince allowed him to listen in on their conversation.
Now, Xavier was actually just made aware of their attempts when the security system flagged an alert about a certain family member attempting to make a Star Mall account before she was even of age.
And while this was allowed, one must get consent from a legal guardian.
But by the looks of it, she clearly failed.
The little girl looked miserable.
Her tiny fists were clenched against her lap, her lower lip wobbled, and her big, round eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
It was clear that she was trying so, so hard to be strong, but the disappointment was just too much for a child who had put so much effort into something only to fail.
And Luca couldn’t take it and practically poked holes into Xavier’s arm to force him to do something about it.
Xavier sighed and acquiesced.
While he didn’t want to ask for such favors and even feared how unsafe this was for them and the princess, it was clear that something had to be done.
For any more of this and his little wife would likely skewer him with all the poking.
So, what could the Prince do but ask for a pinky promise?
It was a promise of absolute secrecy, save for the butler, her crucial assistant, who also had to be sworn in.
And while the little Princess had no complete idea just what his brother meant by all this, she was just glad that she got to vent. And another Smaller Brother was even kind enough to encourage his brother to make a pact with her.
So, for one child, it was likely going to be one of the best mornings.
It was just that it may not be a shared sentiment for many of those prostrating on the forums.
