Chapter 228: The Union Contract
The fourth announcement was one of the reasons for this lock-down. It was one that they came up with after thinking about the pros and cons.
It was an unexpected boon that was courtesy of the Union Labor Agreement that Luca managed to purchase from the Trove.
According to the tooltip, the contract was core-bound and required both parties to fulfill their end of the agreement or risk severe consequences.
The Agreement was a high-grade binding contract designed to establish loyalty between the Dungeon Owner (referred to as the Union Master) and all individuals who willingly sign the contract (referred to as the Union Members).
By entering this agreement, the Union Members are granted access to the Dungeon-Linked Space and associated resources under strictly governed terms.
The features outlined were divided into six main sections:
1. Fealty Clause
2. Dungeon Access Authorization
3. Inventory Management
4. Resource Distribution
5. Workforce Assignment
6. Growth and Development
The first section was what caught their attention and allowed for this announcement.
It was protection for the Union Master and his interests where acts of malicious intent, betrayal, or deliberate harm would trigger immediate retribution.
And the punishment would range from debilitating pain to permanent core destruction, depending on the severity of the offense.
It honestly scared the little chipmunk, who wasn’t sure why anyone would want to sign up when the conditions could practically demand a life in return.
But he underestimated people’s longing for strands of hope.
For everyone in their group who entered this nerfed space could tell that this was more than enough to save lives.
The subsequent clauses also allowed Luca to control the type of access that these people could have and could revoke permissions at any time.
Included in this was access to their personal space inventories, where Luca could define permissions based on material storage, withdrawals, and deposits.
Surprisingly, there were even provisions for unauthorized access to restricted inventory as well as unauthorized hoarding of naturally occurring resources.
But with all these restrictions, there must be equitable benefits.
And that would be being entitled to a resource allocation depending on their contributions, which Luca himself can set and change without prior notice.
Now, these contributions will be earned by fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities within the Dungeon-Linked Space.
Then, for the final rewards, these members may be able to receive access to specialized training facilities as well as other growth incentives.
It was then that Luca remembered having access to spiritual enhancement materials as well as other cultivation resources.
There were his pills and even the tomes, and if he just had the time to look, there were probably more things now that the Dungeon managed to reach Level 3.
The knowledge was dizzying, and the others had to look at Luca, whose face looked really bewildered.
“I forgot about this,” Luca murmured.
Thinking that if anything, he should see if he could get it for his current circle.

At best, maybe he could do something about the Pills.
Maybe he could ask the Elders for assistance?
Which would be a good idea—the best one ever.
For this, the Union Contract was about to be the most sought-after labor contract in the Empire.
And the first ones to be the guinea pigs? The people of the House of Kyros.
And who better to spearhead this recruitment than Kyle, the experienced yet always reluctant adjutant?
It was important to let these people understand just what kind of contract they would be signing up for.
And the guy was prepared to be peppered with questions, like the people of the Ministry, who always had something to say.
But nothing.
And their surprising justification? They already meant it when they swore their allegiance ages ago.
Kyle was dumbfounded; this was his easiest contract signing to date.
Well, okay.
But he was not one to question gifts when they were presented and proceeded to sign everyone who volunteered, which was, well, literally everyone.
And this was the crowd they brought over to see the Dungeon-Linked Space.
Obviously, the unsuspecting door garnered the weirdest looks, but most just thought that maybe this was the secure room for a new artifact.
If only.
It was just that when the door opened, they were surprised to see an expansive landscape beyond what looked like a thin film-like barrier.
But if anything, these people were unaware that the door wouldn’t even be visible to people who did not have the authorization, but this was likely something they wouldn’t discover in the near future.
Not just yet.
Thankfully.
They had over 161 people signed up, excluding the active guards who were currently on duty and weren’t even aware that such a thing was happening inside the halls.
These people were all told to line up according to their sign-up number, which meant that Kana, the youngest maid, was third in line.
So, the young maid was one of the first ones to see and experience the majesty of this place.
The blue sky was high above them, only marred by fluffy clouds. While it was clear that the sun was up, the temperature was refreshing.
Absolutely refreshing.
Kana did not know where to look. There was the grass beneath her feet and the lush greens in front of her.
When the wind blew it rustled the leaves and it would’ve been the best sound if it was not trumped by the whimpers of the manor’s gardener next to her.
But she could understand.
And she couldn’t judge.
Not when her lungs almost took a complete stop when she took her first deep breath.
It was just too comfortable.
So comfortable that some people had to sit down to get their shit together, and if she was a little older with shaky knees, she’d likely be in the same position.
But all she could do now was look and move forward so that they could accommodate everyone who was entering the door.
For the people outside were already wondering what was taking so long, or was the room too small to accommodate all of them?
But no.
It was only because the people entering all needed time to recover as they were hit with something they didn’t think was possible.
And those with even worse constitutions had to be laid down as their body forcefully took in more energy in a bid to recover.
Luca noticed the phenomenon and realized that maybe he shouldn’t have shocked everyone like this, so he started apologizing.
Only for the people to almost pass out from stress as the Young Lord apologized to them instead?!
For what?!
For being too glorious?!
But then the flustered heir decided that maybe he should teach them a bit about energy circulation since it would not be good to experience shocks like this whenever they entered.
And this marked the first-ever lesson inside the Dungeon-Linked Space.
Heck, they had been rewarded even before they could serve.
Just what kind of employment was this?
One that would even require naps, apparently.
But for now, everyone was asked to pick a spot where they could at least concentrate.
And for the first time for many, these people learned what to do with excess energy.
For who thought they’d ever have extra?!
