Chapter 265: Same
If the Imperial Crown Prince had thought Luca’s face had already reached peak redness, he’d clearly underestimated the little chipmunk’s embarrassment.
Luca’s cheeks and ears were now blazing and could likely rival some top-grade rubies.
All because of a very unexpected development neither of them had anticipated.
The little guide stared up at Xavier, eyes wide, entirely mortified at himself and at the sensation that he couldn’t hide.
He had tried his best. But as someone who had just discovered these strange and uncontrollable feelings, he was not as adept at hiding anything.
For a moment, silence reigned.
Then, Xavier’s gaze softened into a teasing yet incredibly tender smile. The corner of his mouth curled upward, and Luca felt like he would be devoured alive!
The prince, who looked even more wolfish, tilted Luca’s chin upward with his thumb, smiling warmly as he savored this reaction.
Luca could not understand why Xavier looked delighted while he was internally screaming, so he figured he had to explain this embarrassing reaction.
“Xavier—this isn’t…I didn’t mean to!”
Based on what Luca learned last time, it was normal to experience this when they were touching. But how come he was like this when they weren’t even touching like that?!
Was it a defect?!
He could only stammer as he tried covering himself with shaking hands.
“Luca,” Xavier murmured gently, sensing the little guide’s panic.
The Prince quickly caught those trembling wrists in a reassuring grip before saying, “It’s not just you.”
“Huh?” Luca froze, blinking rapidly.
Xavier sighed softly, though a teasing smirk tugged insistently at the corner of his lips.
He nodded as if recognizing his surprise as a question.
He let Luca’s eyes travel downward meaningfully, and it was Xavier’s turn to flush lightly, though he wore it proudly, enjoying Luca’s widening eyes.
“Ah! Wait—really?!” Luca yelped, now panicking because of this development.
“You can check it out yourself if you need more confirmation,” Xavier chuckled as he leaned closer to press their foreheads together.
“It can happen like this, too. I got excited because I felt like you liked having me around.” His voice was like a teasing whisper.
“I liked that you didn’t want to share me with anyone.”
He really did.
Xavier lived for it, in fact. And he was pretty sure that knowing this could sustain him through any future hardship.
Luca could only gasp at the vulnerability in Xavier’s eyes as his heart did a few flips.
Then did he like that too?
Was he also like this because he liked hearing Xavier talk about these times he got jealous?
For the longest time, he’d always been at the bad end of someone’s jealousy. Always experiencing retaliation for something he must have done.

But to hear that Xavier was like this for him?
*Ba-dump!*
Yeah.
It seems that he liked that, too.
Luca bit his lip softly, heart racing as he whispered shakily in a voice that was barely audible yet sincerely honest, “I—Me too…”
But more importantly, he didn’t think he’d like to hear Xavier say these things to anyone else.
The Prince wasn’t expecting Luca to say it like this. If anything, he was already glad that somewhere out there, his little chipmunk unconsciously felt something.
But to hear it like this?
To somehow verify that it was okay for him to allow some breathing room for his possessiveness?
It was now his turn to be stunned.
Especially stunned when his little chipmunk leaned in on his own accord and pressed a fleeting kiss against his lips.
It was fast, those soft lips barely grazing his, but he was sure it had happened because Luca looked like he usually did when he wasn’t sure if he was rescuing the world or committing a crime.
How could anyone even resist this?
Xavier felt something inside snap.
Before Luca could pull further away or, worse, second-guess himself, Xavier’s restraint had been let loose.
His hand swiftly moved to grasp at the back of Luca’s neck, pulling him in before capturing those teasing lips in an all-consuming kiss.
Luca gasped against Xavier’s mouth, eyes widening for a brief, startled moment. But his uncertainties dissolved as he melted into Xavier’s urgent embrace, fingers clutching desperately at Xavier’s clothes.
Luca was playing catch-up, trying to match Xavier’s intensity even as his smaller body trembled against Xavier’s.
Ragged breathing took over the small dorm room as they clung tightly to each other.
Fingers tangled in Luca’s hair as he was gently yet possessively tilted to further deepen this kiss.
He still didn’t know how to breathe properly.
For who could breathe in such a situation? But in that electrifying moment, his concerns ceased to matter until one dutiful husband decided he needed a breather.
Both were panting, yet Xavier thought of vocalizing what he had been thinking the entire time.
“You’re unfair,” murmured the Prince, whose lips stayed by the side of Luca’s face.
The little chipmunk could barely speak, only making out a squeak of “Unfair?”
“Very.” Xavier didn’t elaborate and just kissed the corner of Luca’s eye, savoring the softness of his skin.
He was very unfair for undoing all his restraints just like that.
Luca’s mouth opened slightly, eyes wide as he tried to process what had just happened.
“I’m…sorry?” Luca mumbled apologetically, though his golden eyes sparkled shyly, betraying his lip service.
Xavier could only laugh at this. His shy little chipmunk must have been evolving into a little sly fox.
If it had been up to the husband, they wouldn’t be leaving this place. But his terminal had been persistently buzzing.
He reluctantly checked the prompts, and as expected, the messages had started increasing.
“Is something wrong?” Luca noticed the mountain giant’s movement and was suddenly worried.
“No. Nothing yet; it’s just Kyle on the verge of a revolt.” As always.
“We—we should probably go back now,” said Luca, who had to look up from his comfortable position.
“Yeah, sadly.” Xavier sighed softly. “But first…”
“We need to deal with some things. We can’t exactly go back with these.”
Luca wasn’t sure what he meant until he followed Xavier’s gaze.
“!!!”
“Yeah, that.” The Prince’s eyes glinted in amusement at Luca’s renewed embarrassment.
“There’s a shortcut to deal with this, but I hope you don’t dislike me for it.”
Huh?
A short cut?
Luca blinked up at Xavier, even more confused than embarrassed, until he heard the next devastating words.
Xavier leaned in closer, whispering the devil’s words into his ear. “In your case, Luca, you’d just need to think of losing money.”
“Imagine our account suddenly devoid of Star coins, and our CP balance is not enough to even buy a seed.”
Luca’s eyes widened in genuine horror. And the culprit barely had time to brace himself and the little money grubber who collapsed weakly against him.
Xavier figured this would have the fastest effect. He just didn’t expect to have to brace a lumpy Luca who had lost all the will to live.
It was successful. But Xavier swore never to use it again.
“I’m sorry, Luca. But I promise, I’ll make you the richest in the Empire,” said a Prince who needed to atone for this.
