Chapter 64: Sudden Request
There was no way Princess Kira would pass up such an opportunity.
She had been furious and hurt, but she realized that if she couldn’t find her fiancé in the Academy, then he would still be around somewhere, right?
Obviously, she still held her suspicion, and she still couldn’t believe how she could be outclassed by the little shrimp earlier.
But then she had her people investigate those two, and she was informed that the short one was Luca Kyros, the heir of Duke Leander, while the other was a noble named Xavier Montclair.
“Oh?”
“Your Highness, that Lord Luca actually ranked 4th place in the assessment exam, while the other one was the Top student of the Junior Military Academy.
“It’s just that he’s without a formal rank because he was on an official mission while the assessment took place.”
That piqued her interest.
Strength had always been a big deal for the Orcs, and when she heard that the little shrimp was ranked fourth, she realized that it was much cuter than expected.
So, is that why the hottie liked the shrimp? She was obviously wondering why a guy so strong would prefer someone who needed protection like that.
Based on the Orc’s standards, that would not be a good partner. But, she had been told that sometimes, it was just a sweet gesture. Although she listened to the explanation, she never took it to heart.
Well, not until today.
Her mind was suddenly filled with flowers and sparkles the moment that Xavier hid the little shrimp behind him.
And the look on his face (did not happen, by the way) was just like she imagined when she read those stories (not).
Was that real love?
All of a sudden, she hoped that her fiancé would be strong enough to do just that. But of course, he would have to be because it would be impossible for the Pyroan Princess to choose wrongly.
And if nothing worked, she was strong enough and could likely hide him.
Yes, that was it!
She could also shield her Bunbun, just like that little shrimp tried to protect his lover.
She must also have a love like that, and to get what she wants, she must learn and take notes.
That day, the ministry received Princess Tharkira’s request to enroll at the Royal Military Academy.
She only needed permission because she was enrolling past the registration date, and someone had to explain to her dear father why she wasn’t coming back any time soon.
The ministry’s people couldn’t believe their eyes. They had to hold a lottery to decide which unfortunate soul would have to inform King Garick Zulgara of his daughter’s sudden decision.
He was generally amenable, provided his daughter was happy, but telling him that his daughter planned to study here?
Not go home?
The staff already imagined how they would submit their resignation letters if they accidentally ‘won’ that lottery.
Thankfully, they didn’t have to do that because the Princess herself decided to announce her plans to her father, who had almost fainted from stress.
At first, they tried convincing her to return, but Kira continued to talk about the Orcs’ calling to conquer and find new lands.
Well, there was certainly nothing new about the Empire, but she was set to conquer the heart of her love, hell or high water.

Though of course, she didn’t tell her father that she hadn’t heard from her Bunbun for a while now. They might be Orcs, but her father would still find that a huge disgrace.
She’ll just have to find the bearer of her heart! How hard would that be?
Hard.
Probably harder than solving Luca’s issue of wanting to hide out in his space while his roommate was inside the room.
Usually, he could hide inside the virtual pod, but he was supposed to be sick and resting, so he could only pretend to use the bathroom to get himself a good serving of spiritual water and some food.
It was Sunday afternoon, and he had been hoping to do many things, such as train and think about how they could possibly earn 60 million Star coins to pay off his debt.
He deflated when he remembered his debt and decided to risk it. His roommate might find it weird, but he wasn’t the one with a 60 million debt looming before him.
Luca was hell-bent on working hard, so he slowly rose from the bed, trudging as normally as he could to his virtual pod.
“You’re planning on playing in that condition?” Xavier surprised Luca, causing him to flinch.
“No, I—I like the cushion of the pod better. Our dorm bed is a little too hard.” That was true; after all, his virtual pod was a whooping 100,000 Star coins, while the bed was the standard military issue aimed at getting them used to bad conditions.
Xavier thought that Luca was used to a life of luxury, so he would probably notice such things. If only he knew that the boy was used to sleeping on his rickety bed in his space.
When Xavier said, “Suit yourself,” Luca reined in the desire to run toward the pod.
Just entering the space confirmed his suspicion. Whenever he dealt with the corruption in Xavier’s body, he was essentially Guiding and using a lot of spiritual energy. But it was clear that just entering the space could slowly remedy that problem.
“At least we have one issue we could easily deal with. The problem was that 60 million debt.”
Luca remembered that he was going to be out on a field test by the end of this week and would not be able to send products out for delivery like usual.
“Well, host, it’s more like 58,977,000 Star coins if that would help you feel better.”
No, it made it worse.
After three rounds of sales, Luca barely earned his first million. How many items would he have to sell to earn back that 60 million quickly?
Not to mention, there were other costs involved for things like packaging and taxes.
“What about selling meals or food platters, Host? We should be able to sell them at a higher price, provided we offer a variety of items.”
“But do we have enough raw materials?” Luca was worried about the supply because he had not had time to tend to his farm.
“D-29, would you know if there are other buildings similar to the training hall? Maybe something related to farming?”
It took a moment, but eventually, Luca saw several options before him.
There was actually a Basic Automated Farm I and a Basic Hydroponic Farm I, but at 50,000CP each, that would be impossible to buy with his current 25,100CP.
Luca considered the cheaper options and remembered the farms for when he could get some CP again.
Then, at the edge of the projection, he saw something a bit odd: Contractual Spirit Bundle at 15,000CP.
“Looks like buying one would get you three in one go, Host!”
“Yes, but what was this exactly?
A menace, that’s what. And for a time, Luca would wonder what possessed him to be such a cheapskate. Maybe it would’ve been better to toil the ground by himself.
