Chapter 85: Space
*Hiccup!*
Luca also wanted to know.
Technically, he didn’t even know about the other aspects of this place until very recently. And even D-29, supposed to be this place’s caretaker, couldn’t open the rest of the manual!
*Hiccup!*
Xavier and Ollie waited patiently for Luca’s explanation but could clearly see that the guy was stressing out over it.
Luca figured he’d have to say something about the space, but he had no plans to tell anyone about him being an impostor. It’s enough to have something like this, but what would happen if they knew he wasn’t really Luca?
“It’s my ability. One day, I just found myself here, and from then on, I’ve had this place with me.”
Truth.
That part was true; It’s just that I woke up twice. But they didn’t need to know that.
“Spatial ability. Like this.” Xavier figured he’d have to give a mile to take an inch from his chipmunk and decided to show him.
It was a small crack in space, and Xavier decided to show them part of the void before looking pointedly at Ollie.
“And this is where you’ll go if you decide to one day talk about any of this without permission.”
Ollie wanted to melt on the spot! He didn’t want to hear about this guy’s secrets! He only wanted to know about his brother!
“I won’t say anything, but maybe you could’ve told me to move far away so I wouldn’t have to know!” Ollie argued, screaming internally at how he was now privy to a secret he didn’t want to carry!
“You’re best friends with him, right?” Xavier asked.
He knew how this mop always followed Luca around. Xavier also predicted that he’d keep on seeing this dolt in the future, so why bother hiding it. And both of them were already inside Luca’s space. This Ollie already knew enough, and it would be good to keep him checked this way.
Ollie was dismayed earlier, but hearing Xavier say that he was Luca’s best friend made him see this Xavier as a tad bit sparklier.
Maybe he’s not too bad. Ollie thought to himself.
“Tsk! What best friend?!” Ollie pounded his chest while Luca’s heart dropped. He’d never really had a friend. So, he felt like he’d be sad if Ollie denied it.
“We’re more than just best friends! We’re sworn brothers, right?” Ollie’s back straightened as he looked proudly at Luca, who bloomed beside him.
Luca was relieved to find that Ollie was really his friend—or, well, brother. He didn’t want to assume this before because it might have been like that time in his past, but now it’s all okay.
He now had a confirmed friend!
Xavier watched Luca’s expression change throughout the conversation. He figured that Luca really liked this blonde mop and was happy enough just because they were friends.
“In fact, I already promised to give him my firstborn child!” Ollie added proudly.
Xavier blanched. “Well, thanks, but you can keep your child. I don’t think we’d need it.”
Ollie wanted to complain but remembered this guy’s elevated status! Then Luca said, “I could be a godfather if you’d allow it.”
Luca wasn’t sure why Xavier wouldn’t need it, but he also didn’t want to take Ollie’s child because it was not good to take children away from their parents.
His face was flushed, but Luca wanted to say it early so that he could be included in the choices. He liked babies! Because the little ones didn’t judge him or throw rocks at him.
“Of course! That’s a given!” Ollie felt like it was a good deal! And that was how one future child secured his entire life before even being conceived.

But before they could further discuss the future, babies, and their original topic, Xavier noticed movement from the side.
“Who’s there?!” If this was Luca’s space, then ideally, it would be safe. But then he remembered the bones he saw earlier.
Meanwhile, the elders, who really had no choice but to come see their Lord this time, gathered enough courage to check if they were interrupting something again. But they were surprised to realize that the Lord’s person could sense them from this distance.
“Lord! We apologize for disturbing you, but we really have a concern this time!” It was Elder Wei who clutched his skull better this time around.
“Yes, Lord! We were hoping not to bother you with this, but it had escalated to something beyond our control!” Elder Feng had his bony fingers pat his translucent forehead in stress.
“Why? What’s wrong?” Luca stood up, a bit nervous. But D-29 hadn’t said anything about it, so he wondered what kind of emergency this was.
“Lord, please come with us!” Elder Shen asked, hoping to get there as fast as possible.
Three people, three bone sets, and two quarreling entities (one of whom has returned to his storage space) went to investigate the commotion.
But instead of something gruesome, they were greeted with flying feathers and a literal mountain of what seemed to be cabbages, potatoes, and corn.
Now, that was not the problem; the problem was that chickens as big as cows were running around pecking at the mountain of vegetables and each other.
“???”
“Lord! Please help us! We cannot fight them off! When we try to get near the crops, they peck our bones clean!” Elder Feng wanted to cry as his corn kept getting attacked!
“Pan-pan?! Since when did you become a cow?! Why are you like that?!” Luca couldn’t fathom what he was looking at. When he left them, they were just as big as turkeys! But what was this now?!
Not to mention, what were these vegetables?! Why were they this big?!
But if Luca was confused about everything, Xavier and Ollie were both having existential crises.
They had been amongst the trees since earlier, but since the elders arrived, Luca instructed them to harvest as soon as possible to maintain decent fruit sizes. So, the two guests never managed to see any of the fruits and wouldn’t have known they were fruit trees since those had long been grown in tanks.
But what on planet Nova was this?! Xavier, who couldn’t be weakened by enemies and wouldn’t cower before death, was ready to cower from the potatoes that looked like small boulders.
And Ollie? Well, Ollie was probably split into two, with his physical body grounded in his spot while his soul ascended into the vegetable market heaven.
But he was pecked back into life when one of the chickens mistook his tuft of hair for a golden corn!
“Ow!” Ollie panicked as he tried defending from the chicken-cow!
“Han-han! Stop it! You can’t eat him!” Luca shouted as he tried stopping the other chickies from this carnage!
“Host, maybe you should store all the vegetables to force them to stop!” D-29 suggested, and Luca immediately put that into action.
Only this time, the two people who had surrendered themselves to life were shocked when the mountains disappeared before them!
Hallucinations? Or have they gone full crazy?
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t expect my place to be this messy!” Luca apologized as he tried wrangling an angry bird.
“I will put you on a diet!” Luca finally screamed, and the chickens finally stopped.
“Oh no, you won’t?!” The chickens narrowed their eyes at the panting Luca as if saying that.
“Oh yes, I would!” But Luca was stern, and he was not going to let them run around like crazy!
