Chapter 98: Materials
Luca was the absolute best!
This was probably the 20th time Ollie had said this to himself. But even twenty times wouldn’t be enough to capture just how blessed he felt.
When Luca dragged him back to the dorms, he wasn’t sure what it was all about.
If anything, he thought it was because he was shy about the sheer number of people who had been praising him for his good looks.
Luca’s shorter hair made him look even brighter than usual, and it greatly intensified every time he smiled. Now, Ollie thought that this was the issue and was preparing to tease him after he got back.
But he never got to do that as he was suddenly pulled into Luca’s space.
The place was now unrecognizable, and that was to think they were just preparing products for the shop recently. The wide grass clearing they used was now replaced with a few pathways that seemed to lead to designated areas.
It now took a while before they got into Luca’s little cabin, and yet he still hadn’t seen the lake that used to be right where they typically landed.
“What happened here?” Ollie asked as he marveled at the changes to the place.
“I’m not entirely sure, but it’s now a little bit bigger than before, and the buildings have been moved around a bit.” Luca rubbed the back of his head since he really had no other explanation.
“Sorry, I brought you here, but I was hoping to show you something…” Luca trailed off, and Ollie waited with apprehension.
And he was right to be very apprehensive. Because Luca just pulled out the carcass of that ancient arachnid that supposedly blew up with the mine.
“!!!”
No wonder they didn’t go inside the cabin!
That spider was supposed to be corrupted to the nines, and yet what was this thing here that looked like it was free from corruption?
An intact ancient beast.
Ollie had been amazed by everything that Luca had thrown at him, and more times than intended, he had felt like he was going to die of a scare.
But a beast corpse? At a time like this?!
And not just some preserved little part that had been passed down as heirlooms?
They were probably going to die.
Maybe soon?
Nothing screams like a death flag than getting something this good served on a non-existent platter. It was even delivered right in front of him!
He was really fucked, right?
Ollie was hyperventilating on the floor, and Luca panicked! He thought his brother would appreciate it, as he was looking for materials for his project, but he didn’t expect him to dislike it this much!
“I’m sorry, did you not like that?” Luca asked while trying to check on Ollie, who was crumpled on the ground.
“No, wait!” Ollie shouted while sprawled on the ground.
“I like it! I like it so much that I feel like I’ll have to exchange a whole lifetime just for this experience.” He really felt that way because people would commit crimes for such a thing, and Luca just outright placed the thing in front of him.
“Are you sure? You don’t have to force yourself to like it!” Luca said, concerned that it wasn’t as helpful as he thought it would be.
There was no way Ollie wouldn’t like such a thing; this was something that even Masters would just dream of. And as someone who deals with auction houses, this alone would be enough to open a grand auction. It was enough for a solo.

“But Luca, why did you want to show this to me?” He sat up, slowly recovering from that near-death experience.
“You were looking for materials. And I saw you browsing through beast parts and realized that I had this one with me.”
Luca knew this would probably cause Ollie to ask questions because this was supposed to be a corrupted beast.
And yet he didn’t.
In fact, Ollie said, “There was probably a way for you to deal with this, and that’s great. But I suggest you don’t tell me. In case someone decides to needle my brain for the information! At least if I don’t know the specifics for now, I’d be able to keep you safe to a degree.” Ollie turned to look at Luca with a rare, serious face.
The poor guy was really imagining torture scenes or those devices that would extract information from his memory, and he was afraid that his weak ass would reveal any of this.
Luca smiled, glad that Ollie only thought that way.
“Then I hope this can help you with your project!” Luca said, hopeful that this would help!
Ollie’s eyes were ready to leave their sockets in sheer shock!
“You want me to use this for my project?!” He was practically shouting now.
If this thing were to be used in his project, he sure as hell would pass! Pass away!
He’d be labeled as the idiot who used an S-grade material for his stupid project.
Now, that would be a level of wealth only applicable to the likes of his golden brother!
“Luca, if I use this for that mini-project, I might actually be hauled off for a tribunal!” Ollie thought about it before laughing like a lunatic.
“HAHAHAHAHA!”
Meanwhile, Luca was confused as he tried to decipher Ollie’s reactions and statements.
“We should keep this for a better project!” Ollie wiped away the tears that had started forming as he laughed about their situation.
“Brother, this is too precious to be used for my project. But this is a very nice material that you should consider for your custom mecha!” Ollie actually felt like a renewed student.
He grinned widely at Luca, thinking that maybe he should take his classes seriously. How was he supposed to make cool mechas for his brother if he’d never get to a point where he could touch the materials he could offer?
“So, you mean this can’t help you right now?” Luca looked a bit somber because that meant they still hadn’t found a solution to their problem.
“For now, since materials like this can only be used for master-level work! And I’m not yet strong enough to handle such a material! But I promise you, in the future! I’ll make you the coolest mecha!” Ollie was determined, but his determination would be nothing without a project to submit!
“Host! If you only need low-grade materials, then why not try to buy them from the Trove? There should be some he could use, right?” D-29 chimed in, surprising Luca with the suggestion.
His golden eyes widened at the possibility, and he quickly asked Ollie to make a list of what he actually needed for his project.
When Ollie asked why, Luca said he would ask the duchy if they had stock or a source for the items.
That sounded believable in Ollie’s ears, and he was only so glad that there was hope for him!
But what surprised Luca was how affordable the materials were! Especially when he compared it with the other materials being sold!
Why did Ollie’s materials barely cost him 5,000CP, while the other items nearly doubled or tripled his total?
