The Scrap Tamer - Chapter 113
Chapter 113: One Sided Beat Down
[Synergized Form: Gluttonous Monarch successfully Activated.]
Reid, now merged with Beel, flexed his claw like fingers. This feeling was exactly like his mom described, the power he felt was so overwhelming addictive and he just felt like letting it all loose.
He exhaled slowly, restraining himself. Releasing that amount of power bubbling inside him would definitely destroy half of, if not the entire military base.
“I could get used to this” Reid said. By the tone of his voice, one could tell that he was definitely grinning.
But the next notification from Evo wiped the grin from his face.
[Due to the strain being placed on your soul power, the time limit of this form has been reduced to three minutes]] she informed.
“Three minutes?” Reid repeated, but the grin resurfaced under the helmet (?) that covered his head again “that’s more than enough time to have a feast.”
He then turned to his other three forged beasts who were hesitant to approach.
They could feel the connection to this new being that stood in front of them, but they could also feel its hunger. A hunger so vast that it felt like this humanoid creature could devour them all.
“You all have done well,” he said to his forged Beasts “Now, allow me to take it from here.”
With that, Rusty, Nyx, and Atlas vanished into his inventory, retreating to rest and recover.
“Now,” he turned back to the trembling creature “where were we?”
The creature looked completely terrified. What stood before it was no longer human—no, it was was a monster completely beyond its level.
“N-No…” The creature stumbled backward, its yellow irises quivering in absolute terror. “NO, NO,NO. THIS WASN’T SUPPOSED TO HAP—”.
Before it could complete whatever it was saying, a black claw like hand completely covered its face.
As if everything was moving in slow motion, the creature watched with trembling trembling pupils as the claw grabbed its face.
‘Fast’ was the only thought that formed in its head before it was slammed into the arena floor.
A huge crater appeared on the floor due to the impact, sending debris flying across the arena. The air was knocked out of the creature’s lungs as it struggled to breathe.
“I told you already” Reid’s voice sounded cold and detached as he spoke “I hate noisy things.”
Struggling to get out of Reid’s grip, the creature attacked with its tendrils, hoping to force him to let go. The tendrils struck with enough force to tear through even steel, but Reid didn’t even flinch.
He allowed the tendrils to hit his armor, before grabbing them with his free hand. With what seemed like a casual tug, the tendrils were ripped out of the creature’s skin causing it to scream in agony.
Reid looked at the severed tendrils that were twitching in his grasp, trying to go back to their origin. On the black helmet that covered his face, a large mouth with rows of jagged teeth appeared.
Without hesitation, Reid tossed the tendrils into it. The moment they touched his mouth, they were sucked in, shredded and dissolved in an instant. He released a hum of satisfaction as he absorbed the creature’s energy.
Watching through the fingers of his claws, the creature let out a horrified shriek. It could feel it, its end really was close and it would be devoured soon if it couldn’t find a way to escape.
It started thrashing violently in a desperate attempt to escape but Reid’s grip was firm.
“What’s wrong?” Reid taunted “Didn’t you seem so eager to take over my body, for your father, just moments ago?”
He then proceeded to lift the creature effortlessly into the air before slamming it down again. The impact, this time, sent shockwaves across the arena and created a deeper crater.
The creature instantly regretted its healing abilities as its broken body mended itself—only to be shattered again the very next second.
BOOM!
Reid slammed it into the arena floor again, the impact shaking the entire structure. Causing debris to fly in all directions. The creature barely had time to wheeze before it was lifted again—only to be slammed back down even harder.

BOOM!
The cycle repeated mercilessly.
Each time it retaliated with a newly grown tendril, it was simply ripped off and devoured by Reid and strangely enough, it didn’t adapt to the pain, more like it couldn’t. Each time felt worse than the last.
—–a few minutes ago—
“What… What the hell is that?”
One of the two men watching the fight through the screen gasped in shock.
The man in the high ranking military uniform rubbed his chin as he looked closely at the creature that was revealed.
“Did he also just merge with his beast?” He asked.
“That should be impossible” was the scientist’s reply but the creature standing in the arena proved otherwise.
“I have to report this to the master,” the scientist said, turning to leave.
He barely took a step before the military officer’s hand grabbed his shoulder firmly.
“Not yet,” the officer said in a calm tone “Let’s observe what it’s capable of for now.”
The scientist hesitated,”But—”
“Everything is being recorded,” the officer continued, his gaze never leaving the screen. “The master will receive a full report, but I want to see just how far he can go.”
“If anything goes wrong, I’m blaming it on you” the scientist said with a sigh before shrugging off the military man’s grip on his shoulders and turned back to the monitor.
They watched the pure fear displayed by the creature in Darren’s body as soon as the vortex cleared up.
The more the fight between the creature and the Gluttonous Monarch continued the bigger the frown on the Military man’s face got but the scientist, however, didn’t seem concerned.
If anything, he started looking thrilled. His fingers twitched with barely contained excitement, his eyes gleaming as he leaned in closer.
“Fascinating,” he whispered. “Absolutely fascinating!”
The military man turned his head sharply. “You do realize what’s happening, don’t you?” he said, his anger barely masked.
According to the scientist, this was supposed to be the perfect beast capable of completing the master’s bidding but when faced against whatever that monster was, it stood absolutely no chance.
So why was the psychopath busy grinning at the monitor.
“Of course I do” the scientist replied, his grin not leaving his face “but imagine what would happen when all that power is in our hand”.
The military man’s frown deepened “I thought you said there was no way to extract the Codex from the boy once it has bonded.”
“There’s not” the scientist adjusted the glasses on his face “but what if we could control his mind and have him work for us?”
“Is this related to the contingency against the Codices?” The military man curiously asked.
“No” the scientist shook his head “that’s another project altogether”
The military man narrowed his eyes. “Then what exactly are you suggesting?”
“Just a little side project I’m working on” the scientist then dug into the pocket of his lab coat before pulling out a small vial bottle “a single drop of this will ensure that he’s completely under my control.”
“Does the master know about this?” The other man immediately recognized the liquid in the vial bottle and exactly what it was capable of.
“Of course” the scientist said “the master knows everything.”
Everytime he mentioned the master, his expression morphed into one of absolute worship.
“Now, we just have to find a way to get it to him” the scientist returned the vial in his pocket and focused on the ongoing fight…. If it could even be called that.
————–
Back in the arena, Reid lifted the broken creature one last time. Its body tried to fix itself but it was all out of energy.
One of its eyes had already been destroyed by it being continuously slammed into the arena floor.
“Done already?” Reid mused, tilting his head. His tone showed exactly how amused he was while playing with the creature.
The creature’s remaining eye locked onto him, as it violently trembled and pleaded “P-please… w-wait—”
Reid sighed, shaking his head. “No.”
Then, without hesitation, he bit down.
Rows of jagged teeth tore through the creature’s body as Reid consumed it whole.
Its scream was abruptly cut off as it was absorbed into Reid’s vortex like mouth. A wave of dark aura rushed through the armor and into his body as he absorbed the creature’s energy.
He felt only a power up away from literally exploding but his hunger was still present, waiting for him to devour his next victim.
He exhaled slowly, reigning it in.
“Delicious” the helmet over his face shifted, retracting to reveal his face which held a smirk.
Then, Evo’s voice chimed in.
[Remaining time—50 seconds.]
“Tch, that was fast” Reid clicked his tongue.
He was getting so addicted to the feeling of power that he almost forgot the reason he was trying to avoid killing Darren in the first place.
“F*ck” that’s when it hit him.
“I didn’t even devour its memory” …. or maybe not. At least he was close enough.
Since he had already absorbed the creature, there was no way to get its memories back, except…
“Before that,” he paused and looked outside the forcefield. The entire arena was filled with military personnel. Some looked disgusted, some scared, while others held a neutral look.
He then turned to his teammates who were giving him worried looks. He gave them a small reassuring smile before saying.
“I’ll see you guys in two hours.”
His words confused them, but before they could question him, the space around him began to distort
A few seconds later, as if torn by an invisible blade, a cut appeared in the space in front of Reid, revealing a shimmering white portal.
