Chapter 155: The Power Of A Mythic Ranked [1]
After the surprisingly delicious breakfast, everyone was in a good mood.
The mess hall was filled with laughter as Vivian decided to share embarrassing stories of Reid’s childhood.
Normally, Reid would’ve been embarrassed but today was different. Today, he sat among people that he cared about, who also cared about him in return.
He couldn’t help but smile with them.
Clara was nearly choking from laughter as Vivian dramatically reenacted the time a four-year-old Reid tried to “train” a wild squirrel to be his sidekick.
“He even gave it a name,” Vivian said, wiping tears from her eyes. “Sir Nutsalot.”
This caused the group to burst out in another fit oflaughter. Reid’s cheeks turned a deeper shade of red, his earlier composure starting to crack.
Just as he opened his mouth to protest, Ellie jumped in with a teasing glint in her eyes.
“He even started a Knighthood of the Acorn,” she said, grinning ear to ear. “Reid spent an entire week trying to recruit other squirrels. He had a little paper crown and everything.”
Clara wheezed, slapping the table. “Please—Knighthood of the Acorn? I can’t breathe!”
“I was four!” Reid groaned, face buried in his hands.
Vivian grinned, about to reveal more embarrassing stories of Reid’s childhood. Lucky for him, the blaring sound of alarm interrupted her.
Commander Ajax, who was quietly sitting with them, tapped on his earpiece and said,
“Report”
He was silent for a moment, but his facial expression got serious by the second.
“How long do we have?” He asked, the frown on his face deepening as he heard the reply from the other side.
“We’ll be there,” he tapped his earpiece again and turned to the others “all active personnel should report to the east wall, we have an incoming primal siege.”
“A primal siege?” Vivian asked “and just on the day I decided to pay my son a visit?”
They could feel the heat radiating from her irritation—Ajax could’ve sworn flames flickered in her eyes.
“How long until they get here?” she asked, her voice calm but there was an annoyed undertone in it.
“Ten minutes,” Ajax replied, a hint of nervousness creeping into his tone.
Vivian handed the towel in her hand to Ellie. “Clean up for me, would you? I’ve got a little distraction to deal with.”
Then she turned to Reid and his friends, a smirk playing on her lips. “You wanna see how much cooler your mama’s gotten?”
Reid chuckled and stood up “Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Vivian winked. “Good. Watch closely—this’ll be over before you know it.”
She proceeded to walk alongside Reid, heading toward the door. But the moment she reached it, she paused, her body already enveloped by a golden glow
Smaller sparks of ember rose by her side.
“Don’t take too long,” she addressed commander Ajax over her shoulder. “I’m starting without you.”
With a burst of fire and wind, her body completely transformed, wings of burning flame erupting from her back as she launched herself forward, blazing out through an open corridor like a comet.
“Rusty, Let’s catch up” Reid said and Rusty immediately got bigger.

Sitting on Rusty’s back, Reid gave a quick nod to his team before saying, “let’s move.”
“Let’s gooo!” Beel’s voice came as Rusty quickly moved, using [Skip] to teleport ahead.
The rest didn’t wait to be formed twice as they all immediately chased after Vivian and Reid, with Commander Ajax leading the way.
“Let’s start cleaning then,” Ellie muttered and immediately started clearing the table of the plates.
_______
It took Vivian a few extra minutes to reach the East wall—mostly because she had no idea which direction was east. Unlike Reid and the others, she didn’t have a map or a navigation link.
But Reid and the rest didn’t need to know that….
She stood at the top of the wall, watching the military personnel scramble, trying to get a formation in place for the incoming Siege.
They immediately noticed her glowing form standing on the wall and some couldn’t help but stare in awe.
Yes, many had heard of her and her rank as the only known Mythical rank tamer, but not many had seen her in this form.
Vivian turned her attention to the wildlands beyond the wall and although the skies weren’t was clear enough, she could see a dust cloud rapidly approaching.
The amount of primals within wasn’t known to her yet, but she was sure there was a lot due to the dust cloud they raised.
“Okay,” she muttered with a smile “let’s take care of this and get back to hanging out with Reid and his friends.”
She raised a hand in the air, the soldiers below observing her gesture. At first, nothing seemed to be happening, until waves of intense heat started reaching them.
“Above” one of the soldiers pointed and the others followed the direction.
It stood brightly in the sky, like a second sun but bigger… No, closer.
Vivian had summoned a massive fireball from the skies, and it headed directly for the approaching primals.
Before the primals could even get a chance to process the sudden intense heat, the attack landed.
It let out a blinding light and waves of hot air spread out, shaking the earth itself. The attack incinerated everything in its path and when the blinding light dimmed down, only a massive burning crater was left.
As for the primals, not even their ash remained as the fire ball had completely wiped them out.
“W-what was that?” Commander Voss, who observed everything from one of the watch towers, asked in fear.
Reid soon arrived alongside Rusty and Beel, with Commander Ajax and the rest of the team arriving seconds later.
They all landed gracefully on the upper wall just in time to witness the aftermath.
Clara’s eyes gleamed in awe as she saw the results of Vivian’s attack.
“Your mom’s soooo cool” she let out.
She had somehow become a fan girl but no one could blame her, after all, even the other military personnel looked at Vivian in worship.
