Chapter 176: Prince Ansu [2]
Boom!

An explosion went off for the nth time today since Prince Ansu started battling this strange creature and its three headed dog.

The battle started with Ansu gaining a relatively quick advantage.

His attacks were easily connecting and he even managed to chip off the being’s exoskeleton like armor.

It seemed like an easy victory, and Prince Ansu was almost disappointed.

“Is that all you’ve got after such a long-winded monologue?” Prince Ansu scoffed, barely hiding his disappointment.

“You know,” the being started, “I planned on thoroughly enjoy playing with you before I completely squash you but since you’re so impatient.”

It hopped off the dog and gave it a light pat, ordering to to attack the rest of the warriors that were currently locked in battle with the primals.

“You think abandoning your beast will make this battle any less—” Ansu started with a scoff but before he could complete his words, he was forced to jump back.

Boom!

Another explosion went off where he previously stood.

In place of the ground was a huge crater with the being in the center of it. There was a massive smile on its face, as if it was satisfied that Ansu could dodge his attack.

Without saying anything, Ansu charged his spear and did something which confused the being.

Instead of hurling the spear at it, Ansu aimed at the skies, causing it to disappear into the clouds, leaving behind a golden trail.

“And what do you aim to achieve by throwing your weapon away?” The being asked in genuine curiosity as it couldn’t understand the reason behind the prince’s action.

But its answer soon came when the sky was lit up with a golden glow and started raining spears.

“Ah, so that’s why?” The being looked up, at the descending spears, it’s grin getting even larger “Marvelous! You really are better than the other ant.”

The spears descended with speeds untrackable by a normal human’s eye, although that didn’t matter, since the being was anything but human.

The first spear hit the ground and exploded, it was then followed by the second, then the third.

The entire forest around them was covered in smoke due to the exploding spears. The spears continued raining for a couple of minutes before Ansu finally resummoned his spear.

He spun the spear, planted the butt on the ground and narrowed his eyes as he scanned the smoke filled battle field around him.

He could hear the sound of his warriors battling against the primals and their occasional screams, but he couldn’t afford worry about that now as he kept his eyes on the smoke before him.

A couple of seconds later, seeing was there was no activity within the smoke before him, he let his guard down.

This was a mistake.

The smoke before him suddenly distorted. Before Ansu could react, a clawed hand shot through and seized his face in a brutal grip, slamming him into the ground with crushing force.

Prince Ansu wasn’t given a chance to recover before something slammed into his ribs, launching him towards one of the forest trees.

“Gah!”

He let out as he crashed into a tree and the air was knocked out of his lungs.

But the attacker was far from done.

Before Ansu’s body could touch the forest floor, a fist slammed into him again, launching him unto an opposite tree.

‘Damn it,’ Ansu thought as he tried to regain his sense of direction, ‘he got faster.’

After a minute of the being ragdolling him around, Ansu finally had a moment to recover.

He flipped mid-air, landing on his feet this time—albeit with a stumble—before digging his spear into the ground to halt his momentum.

Blood dripped from his lips, his body sustained cuts in several places, and his left arm hung looser than he liked. But he was mostly fine.

The being on the other hand looked completely untouched with not a single scratch on its exoskeleton armor.

“You keep impressing me human” the being said, “even if this is only a single shard, no human has managed to take hits from me and stood back up.”

Ansu said nothing, he was still recovering from the being’s previous attacks.

“Allow me to introduce myself,” the being said as he slowly approached “I am Ruin, the third child of Chaos.”

The mention of Chaos made Ansu’s eyes widened. He had heard the legends from their shamans and seers.

A legend of a being older than time itself, a being beyond human understanding who’s only goal was to return the multiverse back to nothingness.

Isfet’Ka, otherwise known as Chaos.

But equally terrifying was the fact that Chaos had children.

“Third child…’ Ansu muttered, spitting out blood, “…how many of you are there?”

Ruin chuckled, in amusement. “Enough to make your entire world beg for mercy… and too few to waste time explaining to a corpse.”

“I see,” Ansu nodded and wiped the blood off his lips, “it’s been a while since I last used this.”

The tribal markings on his body suddenly started shifting and a second later, they started glowing.

Slamming the butt of his spear on the ground again, the earth started trembling. Even the trees and wind seemed to tremble at the sheer aura of what was coming.

Ruin stopped walking. His grin faltered, replaced with a curious glint in his eyes. “Oh?” he muttered. “So you’ve been holding out on me…”

Ansu didn’t reply, instead he focused on the ritual he was performing.

Repeatedly, he slammed his spear’s butt into the ground and suddenly, as if a crack opening in space, a golden portal was summoned by his side.

“Hmm?” Ruin curiously looked at the portal.

Unlike the one he had used to send this shard to this world, the golden portal felt a lot different.

“Mfalme wa Nuru,” Ansu called out and in response, a low growl was heard.

“Mfalme wa Nuru!” He repeated for the second time, with the growl getting louder with each call.

On the third call, the growls transformed into a full blown roar.

The roar shook even the heavens and finally, something walked out of the portal.

“How curious”
