The Scrap Tamer - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: The Angry Gorilla
The quartet hiding behind the trees watched and the gorilla slammed it hand and crushed the white haired boy.
“Well that’s one down” Callum said with a grin “let’s just wait for it to finish them off and we’ll gather the spoils when it leaves”.
The others agreed with him but Victor was having second thoughts.
‘something’s wrong’ he thought and his thoughts were confirmed when the gorilla raised its fist.
______
The gorilla raised its fist, leaving a crater of its shape on the forest floor. The gorilla looked at its fist in surprise, it expected blood splatter and some grinded flesh on it but there was none.
The only thing on its fist was dirt from the and some small stones that stuck to it.
“Looking for me” behind the gorilla stood a smug looking Reid with not even a strand of his hair out of place.
Just before the fist had slammed into him turning him into paste, Rusty quickly teleported them both to safety.
Dean’s eyes widened again but this time in surprise. He was convinced that Reid was nothing but meat paste and blood after the gorilla slammed its fist at him but no, he was standing there without a ruffle on his clothes.

] Evo gave information on the gorilla primal.
The gorilla roared in rage seeing the bug wasn’t squashed yet. It the jumped towards Reid with both its fists in the air, ready to slam down on him.
The attack sent a shock wave through the forest and left a huge crater where it landed but just like before, the bug wasn’t squashed.
“Your attacks are way too slow to hit” Reid taunted.
[I wouldn’t suggest taunting it] Evo warned.
“Relax, I’ve got —” Reid started but was interrupted.
*Roar*
The primal roared louder than before. A silver glow enveloping it. It moved with a speed multiple faster than before.
It sent a punch towards Reid who Rusty quickly teleported away but the trees behind him were not so lucky.
The shockwave from its attack obliterated every tree within a mile ahead. Luckily, no one was in the way.
“What the f*ck is that?” He asked, surprised by the gorilla’s sudden increase in speed.
[Congrats, you successfully caused it to activate [colossal rage]] Evo said, if she had a body, she would’ve rolled her eyes while saying that.

[Its a skill that it uses when it’s mad enough. The skill multiples all its stats according to its anger] she explained [the longer the skill lasts the more its rage grows which inturn gives its stats a bigger multiplier].
“So I’ll be f’d if I don’t end the fight soon?” He asked.
[Yes] Evo simply replied.
“Well, I’ll just end it before then” Reid confidently said and rested the bat on his shoulders.
“Squeak” Rusty asked.
“It’s fine buddy, just keep backing me up and intervene when it gets out of hand” He said as he pet the mouse sitting on his head.
“Squeak” It squeaked in agreement.
“Come at me big guy” he pointed his bat at it again.
*Roar*
It jumped at Reid again but this time, he didn’t teleport away.
“Rusty” he said and Rusty knew exactly what he wanted.
[Pause] it used the skill on the gorilla freezing it mid air.
*Wham* with a heavy swing, Reid slammed the metal bat on its head.
The gorilla didn’t react since it was still frozen in time so Reid delivered multiple hits, all aimed at its head.
The gorilla was sent flying backwards when the time lock was released.
“What was that?” Dean asked in surprise, one minute the gorilla was attacking Reid and the next it was sent flying.
He and the hidden group didn’t see what happened because they were all caught in Rusty’s time stop.
The gorilla crashed into a cluster of trees, uprooting them as its massive body skidded to a stop. A deep growl rumbled in its chest as it struggled to stand, blood dripping from a gash on its temple.
Its glowing silver aura flickered about to go out.
Reid twirled his bat nonchalantly, resting it against his shoulder again. “You’re pretty tough. But I expected nothing less.”
He was here to dominate the game and he knew the crowd would love a cocky persona so why not give them what they wanted.
Bart, still hidden behind the trees, clenched his fists. “What is this guy? He took down a Silver-tier primal like it was nothing!”
Callum narrowed his eyes. “He has to be using some kind of trick. No way he’s that strong. We just need to bide our time.”
Victor, however, remained silent, his brown eyes fixed on Reid. ‘What the hell is this kid?’.
*Roar*
The gorilla roared again, its rage reigniting. The silver aura around it intensified and its wounds beginning to heal.
[Careful Reid, its power has risen to peak silver tier] Evo warned.
“Great,” Reid muttered. “”
“Squeak” Rusty asked again, preparing to transform into its wolf form.
“Relax, Rusty. I’ve got this.” Reid took a step forward. “I’ll quickly end this”.
The Ravager charged, its fists tearing through the ground as it came at Reid with terrifying speed.
This time, Rusty used [delayed reaction], slowing down the charging primal. Reid then planted his feet firmly and swung his bat with all his strength.
Boom!
The impact was deafening, sending a shockwave through the forest that flattened anything still standing.
The gorilla was launched into the air, its colossal frame twisting before it slammed into the ground with a thunderous crash. Dust and debris obscured the area, leaving everyone in stunned silence.
As the dust settled, the Ravager lay motionless in the crater it had created, its silver glow completely extinguished.
Reid stood tall, breathing heavily but otherwise unscathed.
“That… was a bit more effort than I expected,” he admitted, brushing dirt off his jacket. That was a lie, the fight ended up being easier than he expected.
He wasn’t even confident enough of taking on the gorilla alone but he somehow did it.
Ever since he evolved his forged-beasts and Evo inturn upgraded his soul power, he has been getting stronger by the day, allowing him to fight beasts above his rank.
Victor’s eyes narrowed as he watched Reid from the behind a tree. ‘This guy isn’t just some nobody. He’s dangerous.’
He had made his choice, he wasn’t going to risk the few cores he already gathered.
Lucy finally found his voice. “He… he actually won. Against a Silver-tier primal alone.”
Callum growled under his breath. “We wait no longer. That prize is ours!”
But before they could make a move, Reid’s voice cut through the air.
“You guys planning to stay hidden forever?” He smirked, turning to face their direction. “Or do you want to come out and join the fun?”
