Chapter 43: A New Forged-Beast

“Are you sure that is what you want?” Elizabeth asked as they exited the book store and walked to the car.

“Yep” Reid answered holding his price in satisfaction.

Reid’s eyes widened when he saw the options that lay in the crate.

They ranged from tech to weapons for tamers, some were not even available to the public.

On the other part of the crate lay cores ranging from Bronze to Gold tier and finally, a single fly like forged beast.

The forged beast looked broken but it was still at Gold-tier.

“Pretty impressive right” Darius said with a grin “it’s one of my secret stash”.

“Yeah” Elizabeth was the one to reply. Even she was impressed at the contents of the crate.

“Have you made your choice yet?” The pit master asked.

“Yes, I have” Reid said and reached into the crate, pulling his hand back he revealed his choice.

“Are you sure?” Darius asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Yeah” Reid answered.

“Although it’s a Gold-tier forged-beast, it’s still a broken one” Darius adviced “my men were able to salvage it during one of the beasts sieges that happened 10 years ago”.

Consume: The ability allows it to consume anything, whether physical objects, energy, or even concepts

Extract: allows the forged beast to extract anything deemed useful, including skills.

Black hole: can trap anything within an inescapable black hole in its belly.

Evolve: Depending on what it consumes, the forged-beast can evolve into higher forms

Although the beast was broken, fixing it would be simple since he had been doing just that for the past two years.

“Okay then” Darius said.

Reid and Elizabeth got up to leave “thank you for the information Darius, we’ll be taking our leave”.

“Charlotte, go see our guest out” He replied with a smile.

Charlotte walked them to the door and returned to her boss’ side.

“Why did you give them the information for free?” Charlotte asked. She was curious since what just happened was out of character for her boss.

“What do I always say, Charlotte?” He replied with a question.

“Money is King?” She replied.

“No, after that” He said.

“You have a nose to smell potential profit?” Charlotte said again.

“Exactly,” Darius said, a sly grin spreading across his face. “The profit I smell from him is so strong, he’d be the protagonist if this were a novel.”

Charlotte rolled her eyes but didn’t refute his words. Her boss had proven himself to have a nose for opportunities which never failed him.

That’s the reason why he’s the boss of this organization in the first place.

“But what if doesn’t perform to your expectations” she asked “After all, he’s known as a failure”.

“That’s exactly why, my dear Charlotte” Darius said “you read his folder didn’t you, two years ago when his soul power was measured, it revealed that he was iron-ranked with his potential capped at iron rank”.

“But if that was true, he shouldn’t have somehow become a silver rank tamer” he continued “that’s why I’m willing to bet on the fact that he’ll rise even higher.”

“I see” Charlotte nodded. If Reid really was an iron rank taner, there was no way he could have taken down a Gold tier primal mostly by himself.

“Enough with all that,” Darius spoke and with the press of a button, the glass windows darkened and the door was locked with no way to open it from outside “let’s have some fun”

Without a change in expression, Charlotte started taking off her clothes, revealing her black bra which held her ample breast.

“I’ll never get tired of this scene” Darius said with watching her undress down to just her black bra and panties.

She walked towards him and kneeled between his legs, slowly undoing the zip on his pants.

“I’m going to enjoy this” Charlotte licked her lips as she freed his little brother from his boxers and wrapped her lips around it, bobbing her head up and down.

With the speed Elizabeth was driving at, they quickly arrived at the hotel they were staying at.

“Thank you for helping me out tonight” Elizabeth said as they reached Reid’s hotel door.

She suddenly transferred a million credits to his account before saying “that’s your share of the bets I won tonight”

“Thanks” Reid replied.

“And also to buy your silence” she completed with a cheeky grin.

Reid made a zipping motion on his lips, promising to keep his mouth shut.

Elizabeth laughed at his antics before saying “goodnight Reid”.

She started walking towards the elevator again since she was staying at the penthouse of the hotel.

“Goodnight” Reid replied and walked into his room, closing the door.

He went to a work desk with a lamp in a corner of the hotel room and sat there. He then retrieved his newest forged beast from his inventory.

He also took out Nyx and Rusty who were excited to get a new member of their family.

“Alright Evo, send us to the lab” Reid said and with a flash of light, they were sent to the [Forge Lab].

He picked up the glasses and gloves and put them on. He then walked towards the circular platform and placed the forged-beast on it.

“Alright, let’s scan it first” Reid selected the scan option.

A light passed through the forged beast and highlighted a couple of places that needed fixing in red.

Problems discovered: Core not supplying power to the forged-beast, inefficient energy systems….]

“Alright, let’s fix it” He selected the fix option and the robotic arms descended and started working on the forged-beast.

A couple of minutes later the forged beast’s eyes glowed red, signalling that it was fixed.

Reid walked towards the forged beast that was curiously looking around and said.

“Welcome alive little guy” he said to it “wanna bond with me?”.
