Reid looked at his stats to see almost nothing changed, except for the addition of Beel and its stats.
But that was about to change with Evo’s next words.
[You can perform another Evolution on your forged-beasts] she informed causing Reid to pause.
“Another Evolution?” He asked, just to be sure he heard right.
[Yes] she simply said.
“Last time I checked, I didn’t have enough cores to evolve them” he said.
[Remember, your forged beasts, although at silver tier, has the energy of a gold-tier and with your peak Gold tier cores, you can push each into peak gold tier] she explained.

“But then why didn’t you suggest I just use some of the gold tier cores I already had, to evolve them and save the rest” he asked.
His surprise at getting so many cores and the fact that Evo could combine them into higher tiered cores made him momentarily forget about the amount of cores needed to evolve each forged beast.
[Sometimes I wonder if I really did upload information about me in your brain] Evo sighed in disappointment but still explained.
[To evolve your forged beast from lower levels (iron-silver tiers) the nature of cores used matters not, as long as a single core similar to its attribute is used ] she took a small pause, allowing him to recall the information in his head
[but for higher levels (gold and above tiers) you’ll need a core with the specific attributes of your forged beasts] she continued. [For example, to evolve Rusty from silver tier to gold tier, you’ll normally need 10 low gold tier time cores].
“I see” Reid nodded, determining to use the information about the evolution Codex in his head more “but how does converting all the cores to peak gold tier help?”.
[Check your Forge lab] she said.
Reid called up the forge lab tab and was surprised at the three cores laying there.
[
[Forge Lab]
Available Materials: [Iron-tier Flame cores x2, Iron tier Time cores x2, Bronze-tier alloy x10, peak Gold-tier Time core x1, peak Gold-tier Void core x1, peak Gold-tier Gluttony core x1]
[Scanning beasts]: None.
Blueprints: Iron-tier Axolotl, Iron-tier Flame cat.
[Rusty’s Evolution]: 10 low gold tier cores.
[Nyx’s Evolution]: 10 low gold tier cores.
[Beel’s Evolution]: 10 low gold tier cores.
Progress: [0.00%]
Note: The abilities of your evolved beasts will highly depend on the materials used
]
He still couldn’t see how one peak gold tier cores could equate to ten low gold tier ones so Evo explained.
[5 low gold tier cores equals 1 mid tier one and 10 low gold tier ones equals 1 high tier one.] She explained [it’s the same for other tiers]
“Okay” Reid nodded “then, send me to the Forge Lab.”
With a flash of light, he found himself in the Forge Lab alongside his forged beasts.
“It’s been a while” he said as he walked towards the platform with his glasses and gloves and then put them on.

The tabs popped up in front of him and he selected the [forge-beast evolution] option and three platforms rose, on which Rusty, Nyx and Beel landed.
The platforms for him to place the cores on rose and he did so, starting the process.
[Evolution of Nyx, Rusty and Beel has begun.
Remaining time: 00:29:59].
“The evolution time was shorter this time” Reid observed.
[That’s because your soul was already used to gold tier energy so upgrading your soul power from silver to gold won’t take long.] Evo explained.
“I see”, Reid nodded in understanding. He decided to go through the features of the forge lab currently available to him just to pass time.

He called up the tabs again. One of his missions was to create his own forged-beast, putting him on the Forgemasters path but he didn’t mind.
Versatility was also a skill. Besides, he already enjoyed fixing forged beasts and he knew creating them would be even more fun.
He selected the [forge-beast creation] tab and a set of options opened up in front of him.
[
Auto creation: this allows you to just feed the blueprint and parts needed and the forge lab would do the rest.
Hands on creation: this allows you to create your forged beasts from ground up with minimal to no assistance from the forge lab, depending on your choice.
]
Reid nodded seeing this. As much as he appreciated Evo handling the evolution of his forged beasts, he was a hands on man.
He preferred tinkering with the gadgets himself and he loved the feeling of satisfaction it brings when the gadgets come to life/ power on.
He tapped on the hands on mode and tweaked a few settings, setting the forged lab’s auto tools to a minimum.
Things like the 3D representation of the forged beast was useful so he left them on as he loaded the blueprint in a platform the arose.
A pristine white work desk rose from the floor, on the table was all the tools he needed to create his forged beast.
He opened the virtual blueprint that popped up on his glasses.
[Blueprint: Iron tier Axolotl
Materials needed: Iron tier cores, alloys and skin/fur creator.
]
The blueprint was simple and comprehensive and luckily, Reid had all the need materials at hand.
Well, except the fur creator. Instead of a material, this was more like a machine that helped create fur on the forged beasts.
It worked like an advanced 3d printer that printed skin on the metal forged beast, making it much more real.
But Forgemasters capable of creating higher tier forged-beasts prefer using the corpse of primals as a base, making the forged beasts feel more biological than mechanical.
In Reid’s case, his forged-beasts become more biological the higher they evolve.
Luckily, again, the forge lab had literally everything he needed so he just went ahead and started the process.
He melted the alloys in a mini furnace. It had two openings, one for inputting the alloy and the other for giving out the melted alloy.
Another auto feature that Reid allowed was the mold creation. Since he couldn’t be bothered to create a mold that matched the forged beast he wanted, the forge lab created it for him.
He left a space for the wires and core as the Axolotl took shape. His reasoning for creating the Axolotl was simple.
Although Rusty could reverse time on his cuts and wounds, it only depended on the time frame.
Let’s say his or someone’s hand was cut a year ago, Rusty didn’t currently have enough energy to reverse the time on that hand, replacing it anew.
But if real life and primal Axolotls were anything to go by, he knew that this forged beast was going to become the healer in his party.
He continued tinkering, screwing where it was needed and connecting cables to the core when needed. Time passed so quickly that he didn’t even notice when the evolution of his forged beasts or the upgrade in his soul power happened.
By the time he was done, an hour had already passed and his now gold tier forged-beasts surrounded him, curiously looking at what he was doing.
“Alright, let’s see if it actually works” he said, keeping his fingers crossed.
Although he knew that he did every step right and every wire was in place, he couldn’t help but be nervous since this was his first time creating a forged beast.
With his screwdriver, he placed the final wire on the core and the Axolotl suddenly sprung to life.
Reid was almost moved to tears seeing his first actual forged beast that he created, not fixed Created, come to life.
The Axolotl looked just like it’s real life counterpart. A small pink bundle of cuteness.
The skin creator had done an impressive job in making it look as real as possible.
The newly created forged beast looked around in curiosity before it’s curious eyes landed on Reid.
Hesitantly, it approached his hand that was on the table and to Reid’s surprised, it scanned his neural tattoo on his hand, all on its own before snuggling in Reid’s open palm.
He noted that even the feel/texture of its skin felt real. It was jelly like or maybe a bit wet and smooth.
“Welcome to the family little guy” Reid said with a smile. His surprise at the beast creating the bond on its own faded at its display of cuteness.
