Chapter 68: Axie and Completed Quests.

“Alright little guy, let’s n—” Reid started but paused when he felt something’s snout close to him.

He turned with the Axolotl still in his palm and spotted his three forged beasts who had evolved in aura but not much in appearance, except for Beel.

Rusty still maintained its wolf form, only getting bigger and its weird mouse like ears in that form becoming smaller.

Nyx on the other hand only got bigger with no changes in its appearance. But Reid knew for sure that it were at gold tier now.

Both the aura they emitted and the new feeling he was getting from his soul power confirmed it.

The one with the biggest change was Beel, at first, it looked like a normal fly but now it looked like a fairy with fly like wings causing Reid to raise a brow in confusion.

“Why does Beel look so different?” He asked. It had totally changed to a humanoid form, which although Reid didn’t mind, was a big change when compared to his other two forged-beasts.

[Unlike the other two forged-beasts, Beel belongs to a unique category of creatures called Metamorphic Beasts, which undergo radical physical changes upon evolving] Evo started.

[Either that or it has absorbed a metamorphic primal which would explain why it didn’t show up when I scanned it, since this trait is extremely rare and only a few primals, even In higher ranks have it] she concluded.

“I see” Reid said, understanding what she meant.

He was officially in the ranks of powerhouses now and it hadn’t even been a year since he bonded with Evo.

Evo’s origin was a mystery to him for now, the only thing he knew was that she was created by an unknown forgemaster but one thing was for certain,

Her purpose was to create a high ranking tamer in the easiest way possible. The reason, he didn’t know for now but he was sure that with time, the answers would be revealed.

“Evo, show me their stats” Reid said with a smile on his face.

[Right away] she replied. Her tone suggested that even she was excited for his progress.

Skip: a skill which allows it to teleport to a selected location.

Delayed Reaction: Slows down opponents within a short radius, making them appear sluggish or delayed in their actions.

Pause: Traps the target in a temporal lock, complete stopping the target’s time. The effects lessen the stronger a target is. Can also be used as an AOE attack but the duration is reduced.

Rewind: Rewinds time on a selected target and area.

Echo: creates a temporal clone that repeats an action taken in the specific time the clone was created from.

Time gate: creates a portal that leads back to a few hours in the past.

Basic Temporal Domain: creates a domain in which it has limited control over the aspects of time.

Void: The moth can momentarily disappear and reappear in a different location visible to it.

Smoke screen: Creates a smoke cloud that it can use to hide. Anything caught within the [smoke screen] would be trapped with no way of escaping.

Nullification: negates/nullifies any type of energy.

Spatial Collapse: collapses space within a certain radius around a selected target.

Rift: creates a void that pulls enemies within a certain radius into it.

Basic Null zone: creates a domain in which anything selected as an enemy would be unable to use any energy or magic based attack.

Species: Gluttonous fly.

Rank: Gold-tier

Abilities:

Consume: The ability allows it to consume anything, whether physical objects, energy, or even concepts

Extract: allows the forged beast to extract anything deemed useful, including skills.

Enhance: The more it consumes, the stronger, faster, or more durable it become temporarily

Black hole: can trap anything within an inescapable black hole in its belly.

Evolve: Depending on what it consumes, the forged-beast can evolve into higher forms

Swarm: releases a swarm of smaller flies that devours a selected target.

Memory devour: can absorb the memory of a selected target.

Basic Gluttony domain: Creates a domain in which anything selected as dangerous is absorbed.

Regeneration: can heal basic wounds and cuts.

Hydro manipulation: can create small water projectiles.

Reid’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He knew evolving his forged beasts would make them stronger but this was just a game breaker.

He now possessed the ability to mess with space and time as much as he wished to, thanks to Nyx and Rusty.

The real gain was their domains. This was only supposed to be awakened at platinum-tier if they were lucky enough but due to Evo’s interference, they awakened it, even if a basic one,at peak Gold-tier.

A domain was a zone in which the forged-beast and its tamer are basically gods. They create a localized area where the natural laws of the world are temporarily altered or influenced by the beast’s specific traits or abilities.

So far, only a few platinum ranked tamers have successfully created domains but here he was, creating one at gold-tier. The world would be shocked if they learnt about this.

Beel on the other hand kept getting hungrier and hungrier (ability wise). He wouldn’t be surprised if the next ability it unlocks was to eat planets.

[Erm..Fore shadow] Evo cleared her throat as she lowly said.

“What?” Reid asked, he didn’t hear what she said clearly but chose to ignore it after she didn’t say anything else.

He also noticed his Axolotl being added in the tab and although its skills weren’t impressive, it’s only a matter of time before Reid evolved it to be on par with the rest of his team.

“This is your new family little guy” he introduced and the trio shrunk to match its size and rested on Reid’s palm.

“You’ll need a name” Reid said as he started thinking of a suitable name for the little guy.

“How about Axie?” He suggested “it’s short and cute, what do you think?”

The cute and tiny forged beast squeaked in happiness as It heard its new name.

“I guess you like it” Reid said with a chuckle.

[You haven’t checked the rewards for completing your missions yet] Evo pulled him out of his thoughts and with her reminder, he quickly opened the mission tab.

[Please hold on while I upload the beast memoir in your head] Evo warned and Reid suddenly felt a slight discomfort in his head before it suddenly stopped, leaving behind a new but useful set of information.

The beast memoir was basically a log written by the creator of the evolution Codex. It contained information about all primals, some of which Reid had never seen or heard of, even in the news.

It detailed their habits, strengths and weakness which Reid very much appreciated.

Reid was getting curious about the creator of the evolution Codex but Evo refused to tell, stating that she’ll only reveal it when he’s at a certain rank.

He placed the quartet that were on his palm on the work desk, leaving them to play before opening his own status.

There was almost no change in his stats, except his rank and the addition of the skill [synergize].

The skill was similar to what his mother and her phoenix did but his was temporary and even though it had a use limit, he was fine with it.

Reid clenched his fist in determination, although his goal of making his father regret casting him out was out of the window, due to his sudden apology, Reid still had a dream of standing at the top of the tamer world.

Reaching gold tier brought him a step closer to that goal and with Evo, he knew it will be achieved soon.

He suddenly started feeling lightheaded as he was reminded that he was still in the forge lab.

“Send us back Evo” Reid said as the white light blinded him again, returning them to his hotel room.

Reid directly went to sleep since he was much more tired than he initially thought.

He was leaving for the military in two days and he believed he was sufficiently prepared for whatever they were going to throw at him..
