Chapter 217: Killing The Clone of a God
So that’s Amaterasu when she’s standing, huh? Neraxis looked up and down at the eye candy before focusing.
She was strong, just as the actual Amaterasu mentioned.
He wasn’t sure if SSS- was out of limits yet, as Sylas—who he had dominated—seemed to be SS+ ranked at most.
Nonetheless, the pressure was really oppressive and the girls around him seemed to be feeling it much more than him, as they slumped to the ground.
But one thing did pique his curiosity.
Amaterasu had mentioned no one had gotten past the 10th floor—but that also meant some people managed to clear the 9th.
It was surprising, since none of the participants he killed were even close to S- rank.
That was why…
“Liza, and you,” Neraxis got the two girls’ attention. “I’m going to fight her, and I want you two to look around for any hints on how to clear this trial.”
Obviously, he didn’t dismiss the possibility of someone being SSS ranked and killing Amaterasu, but he highly doubted it.
However, his thoughts were soon interrupted by a system message.
<The Sun God’s power has been sealed, and they cannot use any mana or skills>
Oh? Won’t this make it easier? Neraxis thought, as his hope reignited.
Instead of responding, the girls scrambled to their feet before running away in opposite directions.
He really hoped they were going to look for something and not hide.
But oh well…
I’ll have to deal with this problem on my own anyway.
Neraxis took in a deep breath before dashing forward and attempting to cleave Amaterasu’s head clean off.
However, despite her not being able to use any skills or mana, she was able to react in time—and even send a side kick to his abdomen.
He flew back a couple of meters, skidding across the ground as he finally regained his footing.
But from that exchange alone, Neraxis realized the difference in their strength.
It wasn’t something he couldn’t overcome, but it was really surprising she could do that without any mana.
Nonetheless, he took a fighting stance before extending his fingers forward and drawing blood, which quickly pooled into something resembling an armored knight.
<100x Blood Constructs Summoned! Type: Combat—Sun Knight>
Perfect… Neraxis thought with a smile.
100 big summons like that was the limit—any more and he would need to ingest blood to keep going.
“Tie her down,” Neraxis commanded, and his Sun Knights began making their way over to Amaterasu, who finally decided to fight back.
She raised her hand, and out of thin air, a small, completely white knife manifested.
Despite its size, he felt something akin to Evangeline coming from it, so he warily stepped back.
And he was glad he did—since in the very next moment, half of his Sun Knights dropped to the ground, their heads severed in two.

Behind Neraxis, the arena’s stands began crumbling, as there was now a massive gash spreading from one end of the stands to another.
That little knife did that? Fucking hell… Neraxis thought, as a shiver ran down his spine.
Nonetheless, it seemed like an attack she couldn’t do that often, so his Sun Knights soon approached.
Amaterasu nimbly moved through them, breaking their helmets and killing them where they stood.
Despite that, a single drop of blood fell on top of Amaterasu’s body—and that was all it took.
<1x Blood Constructs Summoned! Type: Miscellaneous—Sun Blood Feather>
He immediately began going through with his plan, as he gently controlled the feather and sent it down her golden robe until it eventually reached her waist.
Alright… Perfect. A grin appeared on his face as he used {Sword Dash}, appearing right in front of Amaterasu, who pointed her white knife at him.
However, before she could even perform that previous slash, Neraxis controlled the feather and made it tickle her.
Immediately, Amaterasu dropped her knife, as her previously blank expression stiffened.
“Pfft… Even as a clone, you really are the same,” Neraxis remarked with a smile as he brought his sword down.
Not only did he use {Eve of Ruin: Mark of Destruction}, but he also infused his sword with all the mana he could muster.
In turn, it managed to pierce her shoulder and travel slightly downward.
However, as though it was stuck, the sword couldn’t travel further.
[Woah… The inside of this chick’s body is intense… Even if she can’t use mana, it’s still being fueled by it,] Evangeline said in amazement.
Can you do anything about it? Neraxis asked, as he began trying to saw Amaterasu’s shoulder off.
[Nope, you just have to keep hitting. Or go for the kill… I’d say,] Evangeline replied flatly.
Of course—
His thoughts were interrupted when Amaterasu suddenly clenched her fist and clocked him right in the jaw before he could even react.
Neraxis flew backward, his vision disoriented as his head spun.
But as he landed, he realized something was a little off.
I can see my spine…
It hurt. However, since he wasn’t dead, Neraxis stood back up and placed his hands on his head.
In the next moment, he twisted, making sure his head faced the right direction again.
Neraxis felt as though his nerves were on fire, but he focused on Amaterasu again.
[That was terrible. I’ll teach you how to do it properly next time,] Evangeline added, and he nodded.
He decided to try again—but just this time, he used {Crimson Sovereignty: Shadow Mantle}.
It gave him a boost to his movement speed, while also making him immune to physical attacks for 5 seconds.
Therefore, within that timeframe, he sent all of his constructs at Amaterasu, while also aggressively tickling her with the feather.
She kept twitching… for some reason.
But he ignored it, as he now arrived in front of her and swung his sword down.
Amaterasu attempted a roundhouse kick in response, but her leg phased right through him, which, in turn, gave him enough time to strike.
He set up perfectly, and in the next moment, used {Expert Stab} and {Atomic Stab} together.
Although he was aiming for her head, Neraxis only managed to pierce through her throat.
Her blood trickled down, but it didn’t seem like she was struggling.
That was why he had to create a bigger opening.
Neraxis controlled his remaining summons to detonate beside her, coating her in blood.
Then, with all the blood that had been in the air, he created something intense.
<1x Blood Constructs Summoned! Type: Miscellaneous—Atomic Solar Bomb>
He compressed it to the size of a nail and made it travel toward the splashed blood—until finally, it reached the hole in Amaterasu’s throat and went down inside her body.
I need to get back and detonate it, Neraxis thought, as he struck her one last time and took a step back, before detonating the mark of destruction.
Immediately, her body began spazzing out, as her eyes exploded, yet she still remained standing.
Amaterasu suddenly recoiled her arm backward and threw the white knife right at him.
However, in the end, this was the single worst thing she could’ve done.
It traveled toward him at an incredible speed and if it made contact, he’d be killed.
But that was not his plan, as he extended his hand forward.
In the next moment, the knife dug into his wrist—and before it could do any damage, it traveled inside the Stigmata’s storage.
Neraxis looked at her victoriously. However…
His head suddenly shot into the air as he could see his body directly below him.
Huh…? his eyes widened in shock.
But before he could fully process what had happened, Evangeline manifested in her humanoid form before catching his head and putting it back on his body.
“Think of the threads again—weave them into your neck, now!” she said urgently.
He listened to her and, despite his consciousness fading, he imagined those threads forming, and soon…
His head twisted a couple of times, reconnecting with the neck—until eventually, a scorching pain went down his ears, temporarily rendering him deaf.
Thanks, please go back now, Neraxis stated, as he slowly got up from the floor.
Evangeline nodded before disappearing.
He glanced at Amaterasu, and a smile seemed to form on her face as she had her hand stretched out in a gun-like position.
She pointed it at his forehead, closed her eyes, and despite the hole in her throat, she muttered—
“Bang.”
Neraxis leaned back out of instinct, as a concentrated gust of wind shot past him and impacted the spectator stands.
—BOOOOOM
Fuck… Aren’t I supposed to be deaf? Neraxis grumbled, and just as he was about to make a run for it, he saw a pillar descending from the skies and falling right on top of Amaterasu, crushing the lower part of her body.
Neraxis glanced to the side, puzzled.
However, his eyes soon widened, as he saw Liza and the other girl wave at him.
He let out a chuckle. Good job.
With that, he shot Amaterasu one final glance and ran toward the girls, before covering them all in a blood barrier—which was further reinforced by {Aura of the Abyss}.
And finally, the bomb which he had placed inside Amaterasu’s throat was detonated.
Neraxis could feel the barrier shaking wildly, as he tried his best to hold it down, but cracks began forming regardless.
But as he thought this was the end, the nameless girl stepped forward and placed her hands on the barrier.
In the next moment, the barrier lit up, as its structure stabilized and cracks disappeared.
Neraxis nodded at her in appreciation, and soon…
<1x (SSS- Ranked ???) Amaterasu (Clone) Slain! Reward: Stigmata 96.33% → 100%>
Good shit, he smiled, as he glanced at the next pair of messages.

<Yes/No>
He took a deep breath and plopped down to the ground, his entire body twitching in pain.
“Are you alright?” Liza asked, and he merely nodded.
“I need some rest… we can move to the next floor after I recover,” Neraxis stated with a groan.
<The Sun God congratulates you on your victory!!! Rest well, and I wish for the best on the 10th floor!>
Thank you. Neraxis thought with a smile, as he glanced at his hands.
I need to figure this Sun Vampire stuff before the 10th floor, and fast.
