Chapter 218: One Final Drink
Neraxis spent a few hours adjusting to these vampire abilities, and now he was fairly confident in them.
Regeneration was one such ability, and being a vampire simplified it.
All he had to do the moment he lost a limb was reattach it. If his heart was destroyed, he just had to remake it.
Combat-wise, his Sun Threads were now a decent weapon.
Obviously, there was still some room for improvement, but it wasn’t anything he could learn within a week.
Evangeline was against giving him a skill for now, as the maximum rank would be an A, and for once, he wanted something higher.
Therefore, he stretched and got ready to press “Yes.”
But before he could, Liza grabbed his arm, holding him down.
“W-Wait a second… I think we should make a strategy…”
“What strategy? We have no information,” Neraxis replied with a sigh. “The previous floors had at least a name. This? It has nothing.”
“But what if we die?” Liza asked, before turning to the other girl. “Fiora, you agree with me, don’t you?”
“I don’t.” Fiora shook her head. “I believe what that guy is saying is the truth. We’re already wasting time here—I’d say we just go in and get this done with.”
She had a strange accent and a pretty high-pitched voice, but nonetheless, at least she agreed with him.
Not like it mattered in the end, though.
The chances of these two being helpful in the 10th floor were likely slim to none.
Therefore, Neraxis was the first to press “Yes,” and the new girl, Fiora, was second.
Now, only Liza was left, but she seemed extremely hesitant.
“Hey, if I die…” Liza trailed off, glancing straight into the eyes of the other two. “Could you find my parents and tell them I’m away on a secret mission or something? I don’t want them worrying about me…”
Her voice cracked, almost as if she was holding back tears.
He couldn’t promise anything, but if that meant she could continue with the trial, then it was alright.
“I promise,” Neraxis stated, and Fiora nodded along.
With that, Liza’s hesitation seemed to disappear as her hands reached for “Yes,” and soon…
Nothing happened.
Neraxis stood exactly where he’d been moments earlier, and he wasn’t being teleported anywhere.
Did it not work…? Did someone not press it? Neraxis thought, his eyes darting around the arena.
However, the girls shared similar confusion.
But that confusion was soon interrupted when every single object—including the arena—vanished, and they began falling downward.
Neraxis used his mana to stabilize his falling posture, which couldn’t be said for the two girls beside him.
Nonetheless, he was falling through pure white, with seemingly nothing around.
Yet, as the minutes passed, he could finally see something in the distance.

It was a colorful blue and green marble, with even a bit of white and yellow mixed in.
However, the closer he got, the more his eyes widened.
Is this a world? What the… Neraxis thought, as he continued falling.
The marble was getting bigger and bigger, until it was many times his size.
But the growth didn’t stop there, as with each passing second, the size grew—until eventually, he could feel some sort of pull toward it.
Neraxis didn’t refuse it—merely embraced it.
Immediately, the speed of his fall increased drastically, and the world got much larger, followed by him entering the stratosphere.
His ears rang, and he fell through the clouds, before barely catching himself and the girls in midair.
Thanks, Evangeline, he expressed, standing on the sword.
[Hmph…] Evangeline pouted silently.
Nonetheless, Neraxis somehow ended up on a different world—but just a little unconventionally.
It was very similar to his own world, and even technology-wise, it was the same.
He could feel several strong people, and even those who rivaled him in strength.
However, just as he thought the trial would be some light-hearted stuff, the system’s pop-up said otherwise.
<Solaris Tower – 10th Floor ??? Mode: Brilliance of the Sun>
<Objective: Destroy this world.>
<Status: Started!>
“Huh? Do what now?” Liza exclaimed, shocked.
“…” Neraxis stared at the message, as he slowly began floating down.
It was understandable why others couldn’t pass this trial.
By the end, there would be 4 people left at most—and with those four strongest people, they had to destroy an entire world.
The world would obviously not sit back, as the people here were plenty strong enough to defend themselves.
So in the end… this is what I have to do, huh? Neraxis thought, as his consciousness finally kicked in.
He had done many massacres during his Eclipse days—but none were on this level.
To his surprise, another few messages popped up.
<The Sun God states they can see! It’s impossible to cancel it, and from what they could surmise, the only way to clear this trial is to kill every living human on the planet.>
<The Sun God reviews the world and realizes it had shunned the Sun God in the past and has made unruly sacrifices in the name of the Sun God.>
“Why…?” Neraxis muttered. “What does any of this have to do with you? Or even the trial at all?”
<The Sun God shrugs, saying it’s one of the basic fundamentals behind divine judgment. They occasionally have to destroy entire worlds to preserve the balance, and it seems like you’ve been given the task instead.>
“What a load of bullshit,” Neraxis scoffed, landing on the ground.
He was not too far away from a city—and now? He was supposed to kill everyone? Seriously?
<The Sun God says in the grand scheme of things, some sacrifices must be made. They hope you can—>
Hm? Neraxis tilted his head as the messages cut off.
However, he soon realized why.
<Eternal Ruin: Dawn of Ruin is recommended.>
…No. Neraxis shook his head, as he waved the message aside.
There was no way of getting out of this, and he couldn’t even contact Delta.
All communication was lost, and even the emergency trackers he placed in his wrist had stopped working long ago.
There’s no way around this, Neraxis concluded, turning toward the two stunned girls.
“What do you two say we grab one last drink?”
