The SSS Ranked Villain's Return - Chapter 225
Chapter 225: Last Supper
There were weird spiky poles erected all around the town, and it didn’t take a genius to know what they were.
Demon-warding totems.
Basically, some belief stuff, which obviously didn’t work on Neraxis and the girls as they merely passed by these warding totems and went inside the town.
The number of people living here seemed to be pretty low, in the hundreds.
However, Neraxis didn’t bother them.
Even so, many of them flashed him strange, wary glances.
Almost like they knew he wasn’t supposed to be here.
But that’s probably just my imagination, Neraxis thought with a hum as they finally arrived at some sort of inn.
Technology seemed lacking in this part of the world, but even so, the pleasant aroma of food remained the same.
Neraxis stepped into the inn alongside the girls and found a table.
After a few moments, a female waiter passed by them and dropped a menu on their table before moving on to chat at another table.
Neraxis let out a sigh as he looked both girls in the eyes.
“I’m pretty sure they know.”
“How would they know?” Liza tilted her head. “These disguises are way too good…?”
“Even though I can hide my presence with my affinity, I can’t fully mask it,” Neraxis explained. “There’s a bottom line to my power, and that’s B+ rank. In this world, B+ rank seems pretty above average, so the people were probably alerted.”
“By the warding totems?” Fiora asked, sipping on water she got from who knows where.
“Exactly.” Neraxis nodded. “I believe the warding totems were merely some sort of signal that checked everyone’s power.”
“Let’s order fast…” Liza trailed off. “I don’t want to get kicked out before I have my food.”
“Sure, just order whatever you want,” Neraxis replied, and with that, they began picking their food, while also enduring the strange glances from all around them.
It was inevitable that in just a few hours, this entire town would be wiped out.
Nonetheless, after he was finished picking, he called the waiter, said his order, and began waiting.
Money-wise, he still had a bunch of gold left, so that was what he would pay with.
[You’re a bit strange…] Evangeline giggled. [You’re going to kill them all in a few hours, and yet here you are, paying for your food like a good civilian.]
Neraxis shrugged. I might be a murderer, but I’m definitely not a thief.
[Yep yep, okay mister not-a-thief, eat your food safely, since I can practically smell the poison from all the way over here,] Evangeline said with a hum.
I noticed, Neraxis nodded, as after a few minutes, the food finally arrived.
Some fish and chips, a burger, and a steak.
“Enjoy your food, dear travelers,” the waiter said with a fake smile as she began walking away.
In the meantime, the girls seemed ready to dig in, but before they could, Neraxis stopped them.
“There’s poison in those,” he whispered, before using {Aura of the Abyss} to remove the poison.

He just wished he had thought of that during his fights against the Protector, but since he deemed it too dangerous, Neraxis didn’t even attempt it.
Now? It was pretty simple, and the food finally became edible.
“Eat up, the poison is gone,” Neraxis said.
However, the girls seemed hesitant, so he decided to take the first bite out of his steak.
Noticing that nothing was happening to him, the girls became excited as they began digging in.
Finally, some great food… Neraxis thought with a satisfied look.
[Were the cookies I gave you not good enough?] Evangeline asked, droopy.
He raised a brow. The same cookies I had stored in my dimensional ring? The same ring you conveniently took off my finger while I was asleep?
Evangeline fell silent, and he could only hear a soft, distant hum.
A smile appeared on his face as he devoured the steak, and finally, it was time to leave.
Neraxis plopped down a chunk of gold ore on the table, with a side of a small diamond, and stood up, the girls doing the same as they finished eating around the same time he did.
But just as he was about to leave, a burly man stepped in front of Neraxis, blocking the exit.
“Mate, you don’t happen to have more gold on ya? I need a tab paid, you see,” the burly man said, his yellow teeth showing.
Neraxis shook his head. “Nope, you can piss off now. We’re busy.”
“What did you say—!”
The burly man’s words were cut off when, all of a sudden, Neraxis snapped his fingers.
Immediately, a cold pressure spread out and froze the man into an ice statue in an instant.
But of course, Neraxis left a portion which wasn’t frozen.
He took out his rapier and pricked the man’s finger before starting the purging process.

A golden grenade formed as it drew blood from the frozen man until finally, it was big enough to destroy this whole building in an instant.
Nonetheless, Neraxis turned toward the two girls, who were completely unfazed at this sight, and instructed:
“Same procedure as always—form a barrier, and progressively shrink it.”
“Of course.” Fiora nodded, as she turned her gaze toward the remaining people in the inn, who were all looking at the three of them in horror. “I’ll set up base with Liza here. Good luck, Neraxis.”
—I-It’s them!
—They’re already on the continent!? But we were told it’s going to take months!
—The Protectors lied to us! They are just scared because there’s only four of them left!
Neraxis noted down the last bit and turned around before walking out of the inn.
Soon…
—AAAAAH!
She’s started, Neraxis thought, as he decided to pull his own weight.
Summoning a pair of frost wings, he flew into the sky while at the same time, a golden barrier was now erected all around the town.
Immediately, he could see the looks of the people turn hollow as they knew what awaited them.
And once they spotted Neraxis in the sky with his mask off, they simply began embracing each other, preparing for the inevitable.
Neraxis took a deep breath as he summoned thousands of golden threads from his own blood and sent them down.
They swirled around each person’s neck, until, finally, he clenched his hand.
In the very next instant, the heads of all the few hundred people present were cut off, flying into the sky and dyeing the surroundings red.
Of course, the handful of people who were in the outskirts weren’t spared either, as he quickly appeared behind them and neatly cut their heads off.
Neraxis glanced around, not noticing any more people in the area except Liza and Fiora.
Time? he asked.
[1 minute and 5 seconds,] Evangeline giggled. [It’s a new record—congratulations.]
A smile tugged at his lips as he looked off into the sky.
I just need to repeat this for a couple more weeks… and finally, I can go home…
