Chapter 256: Turning Her Too
“So why exactly do you need this immortality?” Neraxis asked as he leaned against the alleyway’s fence. “From what I’m seeing, every time you die, you respawn? Or regenerate?”
“I respawn…” Nightshade muttered. “But the only reason I need immortality is that this skill of mine isn’t infinite, and every time I die, I lose a part of myself.”
“So you’re just greedy,” Neraxis pointed out. “Have you ever thought of just hanging up the belt? I don’t know… try not to die anymore?”
Nightshade shook her head. “You killed me too many times, and now I can’t even remember my childhood. Only bits and pieces of it. But this is the life I have, and I don’t want to change just to live longer.”
Neraxis’s brows furrowed. “But you want immortality? You’re a bit stupid and selfish.”
“Yeah, you’re a bit…” Evangeline trailed off, walking over to Nightshade and bonking her over the head. “You need a reality check, missy.”
“T-That’s not the only reason I want immortality!” Nightshade replied, rubbing her head, which now had a massive red bump.
“Then what is it? Stop speaking in circles, I’m sure we all have places to be,” Neraxis pushed. “But if it’s something stupid, don’t even bother saying it.”
The moment he finished his words, Nightshade fell silent.
And of course, he could assume she was about to suggest something really stupid.
Or maybe…
“My sister… I want to transfer all my powers to her, but if I do it as is, then I’ll die. If I die, then she’ll be the only one left alive,” Nightshade stated.
Oh? This one is a bit more serious. Neraxis nodded. “So you don’t like self-sacrifice. But you also want to save your sister.”
“That’s right…” Nightshade nodded slowly. “So can you please just let me kill you?”
“No.” Neraxis shot her down in an instant. “You’re an idiot for even asking me to die.”
However, there could be some benefits to this situation, so Neraxis decided to humor her a little longer.
“On the other hand, what’s wrong with your sister? Is she dying?”
“She’s in a coma…” Nightshade replied. “There’s no way to wake her up, and if I give her my powers and kill her, then…”
“Then she’ll revive, hmm…” Evangeline finished. “It seems to me like all your sister needs is a jump start. What do you think, Neraxis, do you want her?”
Hearing those words, Nightshade flinched.
However, before she could get the wrong idea, Neraxis sighed. “Evangeline, be clearer next time. And I suppose I wouldn’t mind adding someone to my family in exchange for a little assistance.”
“Assistance?” Nightshade tilted her head. “What could I even give you that you don’t already have?”
“Your skill is very useful for scouting,” Neraxis stated, raising a single finger. “It’s also very good for drawn-out fights, deceit, and many more scenarios. Even if you lose your memories, I believe there’s some way we can go around that debuff.”
“What if you turn her too?” Evangeline suggested. “You need more followers in order to rank up your bloodline.”
“I guess that’s true,” Neraxis sighed, turning to Nightshade. “What’s your name?”
“Lana…” Nightshade muttered. “My sister is Rara. I know we have stupid names, but our parents were eccentric and busy people, so they didn’t have time to give us proper names.”
“That’s fucked up,” Evangeline said as she patted Lana. “But hey, don’t worry, you’re going to go through a glorious evolution if Neraxis allows it.”
“You’re really insistent on this.” Neraxis rolled his eyes and walked up to Lana. “What do you say? Do you want to become a vampire?”
Her eyes immediately widened. “A-A vampire!? You mean like those in the movies!?”
“Quiet down, missy,” Evangeline shushed her. “And yes, that’s exactly what he means.”

“I can’t promise you immortality; however, you will become nearly unkillable due to my bloodline.”
Lana glanced at him for a moment, and soon, she simply nodded. “Is it going to hurt?”
Neraxis raised a brow, amused. “You’re afraid of pain?”
“I’m definitely not a fan of it,” Lana replied. “Dying doesn’t get any easier.”
“Yeah, makes sense. So what’s your decision?” Neraxis asked, and Lana nodded.
“I’m already gambling with my life here… and if you can also save my sister, then I’ll be forever in debt to you,” Lana said.
Immediately, Neraxis bit into his finger and hovered it above Lana’s mouth.
“Drink up,” he stated, and she reluctantly opened her mouth before swallowing the blood droplets that were slowly falling from his finger.
And like before…
<How much power would you like to share?>
<High Solarian Vampire: 25%>
<Solarian Vampire: 10%>
<Lesser Solarian Vampire: 2%>
“Evangeline, I have fewer options than last time,” Neraxis said with furrowed brows. “Is this the connection you were talking about?”
“What’s the highest power share you can do?” Evangeline asked.
“25%,” he replied flatly. “She’d become a High Solarian Vampire, but that seems a little low, don’t you think?”
“Not at all.” Evangeline shook her head with a knowing smile. “You just killed her dozens of times, and for you to even have the option to give her 25% of your strength—don’t you think that’s a little… off?”
“Are you suggesting she’s a fan or something?”
“Kind of,” Evangeline giggled. “I just think your charm stat is high enough for women to be attracted to you without you even needing to say a single word.”
Neraxis sighed upon hearing that and chose the 25% option.
Naturally, he would give her more if he could, since from what he saw, progenitors were able to kill their kin pretty easily.
After all, Evangeline did just that on her own planet, and according to her, she killed every single person that shared even an ounce of her bloodline.
And now, it was time to turn this immortal insect into a vampire.
<Ding>
<High Solarian Vampire: 25% has been chosen!>
<Notice: The ritual has commenced!>
There was a moment of silence, similar to last time.
However, that silence did not last long.
“AAAAAH!”
