The SSS Ranked Villain's Return - Chapter 274
Chapter 274: Insecurities
It’s been 16 minutes… Alice thought, feeling the headache forming.
Zaria had woken up a few minutes ago, way earlier than expected.
However, she seemed restless, almost as if the one she had liked had died.
And from what Alice had gathered, that was likely the case.
Both the fact that Zaria had liked Neraxis and that he had died.
After all, no matter how strong he was, jumping into a potential A- ranked rift was suicide, even for someone like him.
Therefore, Alice went up to Zaria and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Hey… how are you holding up?”
Zaria scoffed. “How do you think? That prick sent him in there, and you knocked me out. I thought we were friends…”
“We are,” Alice replied firmly. “And the reason I stopped you was because I didn’t want you to die as well.”
“But what if I did jump!?” Zaria shot up to her feet, glaring at Alice in the eyes. “What if he was still alive had I helped him? What if all it took was someone pushing a monster aside to save him?”
“Zaria.” Lar called out. “You’re looking at what-if situations thinking you can change something about them. They’re done. He’s done.”
“And you’ll be done next,” Zaria stated as she tugged at an arrow on her quiver.
However, just as she was about to pull it out and send it right between Lar’s eyes, all of them heard a splash by the side.
“Oh? That fucker is really alive?” Bale remarked, resting his spear on the bridge’s railing. “Here I thought you talked him up so much just to make me join.”
“I said I didn’t,” Lar replied. “I never lie about the strength of those in our group. If I did, then we’d be dead long ago.”
Mhm… just like you’re hiding the fact that you’re hiding a lover, Alice thought with a smirk.
She had heard an interesting conversation once. Lar was talking to someone on the phone, and they seemed to be flirting.
He himself had warned them against weaknesses, and having a girlfriend or a lover was nothing but a weakness.
But I guess the rules don’t apply to the ones that made them, Alice remarked and looked over the railing.
The ocean was swirling aggressively, almost like an unclogged sink.
However, the one thing that really caught their eyes was the fact that in the very center of that swirl was a single white-haired man, floating peacefully.
Of course, if he kept being sucked in, then that peacefulness would soon be replaced by death.
Therefore, while no one could confirm whether or not Neraxis was alive, one thing was certain.
He was here, and they had to rescue him.
That was why, unlike last time, Zaria leaned over the railing, using her bow to threaten them.
“If you pull shit like that again, I’m leaving and taking him with me!” Zaria yelled, focusing on Alice in particular. “And you… I’ll have a talk with you later.”
With that, she dropped her bow right beside the railing and proceeded to jump into the ocean below.
It was chaotic, and Alice felt slightly worried for the two of them. However, Lar didn’t seem to share the same sentiment as he began whispering some things amongst the other guys.
“She’s starting to become a liability,” Lar whispered. “It’s not hard to notice that she likes him, but if her emotions are swayed by relationships, then I’m afraid we need to take the necessary precautions.”

“Dude…” Bale muttered. “You sound like some kind of sadist. But I understand. She’s definitely off her rails these past few months, and if we keep letting her do as she wants, then she’ll prioritize a certain person over us.”
Alice knew what they had in mind.
If Zaria’s focus was only on Neraxis, then the rest of them would be in danger.
Notably, a dangerous fight would be turned to shit just because Zaria wouldn’t focus on their positioning.
So it’s either killing her, or throwing her out peacefully… neither option seems very likely, Alice thought.
Nonetheless, Alice watched the water as Zaria began slowly floating Neraxis to the shore.
Lar and the rest of his goons proceeded to enter their helicopter and fly down. In the meantime, Alice took a walk.
The bridge wasn’t large by any means, but she could see everything that was going on in the water.
Neraxis seemed unconscious, and as for Zaria, she slowly got to land and began dragging him to where water couldn’t reach.
And the moment she laid him down, she began performing mouth-to-mouth, trying to get Neraxis to spit out the water in his lungs.
After just a few seconds of doing so, it finally worked as he spat out all the water like some sort of sprinkler, all of it landing on Zaria’s face.
Yet she wasn’t mad. Instead, she simply giggled and began playing around with his white hair.
They were talking about something, but from such a distance, Alice couldn’t overhear anything.
But even if she couldn’t, there was this sinking feeling in her chest.
Am I jealous of them…? No way. Alice immediately dismissed that idea.
How could she be jealous?
She was a beauty, and her personality was great too. At any given moment, she could get a boyfriend or a lover.
However, despite those thoughts, her gaze kept traveling toward Neraxis—and of course, Zaria as well.
What does she have that I don’t? A bow…? Alice pondered as she jumped off the bridge.
She landed on the sand and began walking toward them.
No, it can’t be a bow. Her breasts? Mine are larger. Her face? I’m prettier…
Her mind was in turmoil, and she couldn’t understand the reason why they were getting along so well.
The three of them met at the same time, had the same conversations, and even laughed at the same jokes.
Finally, Alice approached the two of them and was met with their laughter.
…Why?
