The SSS Ranked Villain's Return - Chapter 302
Chapter 302: Escaping
Neraxis stared at Valthor for a few moments, but nothing of interest happened.
He gave some speech about how the Eternal Sin was their savior, and if they didn’t awaken him, they’d never reach salvation.
Basically, a pile of glittery bullshit.
If Lagus reawakened, then everyone would be screwed. And of course, Neraxis would be the main person to be screwed over due to how it would all play out.
For all he knew, he’d be stuffed into a coffin and forced to provide the others their systems.
But what if I create my own world…? Neraxis pondered. What if I become its guardian, and there’s no one with whom I have to share the power? Only those that are close to me.
Technically, he would be able to lose the restriction the Eternal Sin had forced on him. However, that brought up another issue.
How does one even create a world…? I feel like it wouldn’t be easy.
Of course it wouldn’t, but Neraxis put that to the back of his mind for the time being as he glanced around one final time.
After all, the members of the Eternal Night had just regained their composure and were now toasting the blood that they had spilled.
It was brutish, and Neraxis wanted nothing to do with them.
Therefore, he decided to swiftly walk away.
Yet not even a few steps later, he felt a strong pressure envelop him, stopping him in his tracks.
“Neraxis, we don’t tolerate deserters,” Valthor stated flatly. “If you wish to leave, then offer something of equal value in return.”
“I’m not leaving,” Neraxis replied with a shrug. “I’m going out for a piss, so unless you want to accompany me, I suggest you let me leave.”
In the distance, he could see a glimmer of light, likely coming from a crack in the sewage system. If he could go under it, then he would be able to teleport out.
However, there was another problem that arose, and that was the fact that he didn’t know which base this was.
Kyle had mentioned that there were multiple bases, and for Neraxis’s own sake, he had to find which one this was.
After all, if he didn’t nuke it within a year, Lagus would reawaken.
Nonetheless, it seemed like Valthor bought his lie as Neraxis continued walking, then took a step to the right.
Surprisingly, he spotted some of the higher-ups from earlier as they too had gone aside.
And of course, Neraxis didn’t waste any time as he went up to the two of them, slashed the neck of the one on the right, and slammed the remaining one into a wall.
He had to do this fast since it was possible that Kyle and the others would soon come back alive.
If that were to happen, then there’d be a problem he’d rather not deal with right now.
“Tell me the location of this base,” Neraxis said plainly as he tightened his grip around the remaining man’s neck. “If you don’t, I’ll incinerate you right here and now.”
To back his point, Neraxis turned to the man whose neck he had slashed, and in the next moment, he used his Solar affinity.
A giant golden flame emerged from his palm, shot toward the man’s corpse, and set it on fire. The flames raged on until eventually, there was nothing but ash left.
But the flames didn’t stop as even the ash was consumed.
Finally, the flames extinguished, and it seemed like the man had been literally erased from existence.
Nonetheless, that seemed to make the man freeze up as he stared into Neraxis’s eyes with a horrified look.

“H-Hey now… Aren’t you on our side?”
“I’m not.” Neraxis shook his head. “You could say I’m defecting, and for that, I want you to tell me everything you know about this place. Especially its location.”
“Fuck… I don’t know the location!” the man shot back. “No one does! The only person who can pinpoint this place is Valthor, and even then, he restricts all access to this place unless we are supposed to do a blood ceremony like today.”
“The sun is high in the sky, that’s one thing to note,” the man added. “Aside from that, I don’t think there’s an exit or an entrance. This place simply exists.”
So my only choice is to bask in the sunlight and try teleporting up… but what if I teleport too far?
That would really mess him up. In fact, it would be as though his entire time spent here had been a waste.
However, restarting wasn’t an option, and clearly, staying here wasn’t either.
After all, it seemed like the people had caught on that something was wrong. So they sent out a few sentries to check it all out.
Since Neraxis couldn’t get much more out of this man, he simply crushed his head, then burned him alive within the span of a second.
Immediately after, Neraxis dashed toward the only source of light as he realized it was starting to dim.
Yet not even midway through, dozens of Eternal Night members rushed toward him, all holding different types of weapons.
They tried their best to kill Neraxis, but it was of no use.
He wove through the attacks, sent a few bursting flames of his own, and even managed to shoot a few fireballs toward Valthor, who sat in the distance.
When he was just a few meters away from the source of light, Neraxis suddenly turned around and flipped over his palm.
Immediately, all the blood in the area began to react as it combined into one, until eventually…

A mini bomb appeared, which was more than it seemed. Neraxis simply shot Valthor a sly look, and then threw the bomb into the air.
The people seemed to be alert, so while they had taken their attention off of Neraxis, he simply got under the beam of sunlight and forced himself to teleport directly above.
It seemed to work since he reappeared shortly after. And what greeted his sight was a vast ocean.
But not even a moment later, the ocean rippled, and then it simply shot up a giant pillar of water into the sky, followed by a loud explosion underneath the ocean.
Neraxis stared at the sight in amusement before glancing around.
I need to memorize this location…
