The SSS Ranked Villain's Return - Chapter 351
Chapter 351: Graveyard Explosion
After a not-so-thorough conversation, they had come up with a simple plan.
It was so simple, in fact, that Neraxis was sure he might die.
Jane had shared the fact that she had one skill in particular that could kill all the zombies in one go.
Holy Corpse Explosion.
The only holy thing about it was the fact that she’d use Light magic to trigger a chain reaction in the zombies’ bodies and cause them to explode.
And in the midst of it all would be Neraxis, the person responsible for bringing them all together.
Or rather, he was already there, currently running away with a few hundred zombies behind him.
Then there was also Evangeline, who was a few meters in front of him. She had a blood thread connected to his waist, so when it was finally time, she’d pull him away from the explosion.
That was the best they could come up with in the time they had.
Neraxis kept dashing past the zombies until he’d gathered a decent portion behind him.
But he noticed one thing in particular: Evangeline seemed tired. It was unlike her.
Very unlike her…
Is everything alright? he asked. If you’re tired, then just step aside. I can handle the rest, I promise.
[No… it’s fine. I’m not tired, I’m just thinking a little…] Evangeline replied in a low tone. [Can I really have light magic? Is that even remotely possible? I did try it once or twice in the past when I was curious, but I never showed any talent.]
Neraxis sighed. Evangeline, take a minute for yourself. I can dodge the corpse explosion easily.
[But what if you can’t?]
If you don’t take a minute for yourself, we’re going to postpone our little arrangement for a week. No buts, Neraxis replied, causing her to halt and turn around.
But since she stopped in his track, He ran past her, picked her up by the waist, and tossed her over his shoulder
“That’s not what I meant by taking a minute for yourself,” Neraxis said plainly.
She shrugged. “A minute is a minute. You can do the heavy lifting… actually, I’m not heavy, so you just do the lifting, okay?”
“Whatever you say…” Neraxis rolled his eyes and proceeded forward.
He had circled the entire graveyard five times by now, and it was finally time to run back toward Jane.
He saw her silhouette in the distance, and without a moment of hesitation, began sprinting toward it.
Of course, he made sure to keep his pace steady so he didn’t lose the zombies. But even so, after a whole minute, he was finally only a hundred meters away from Jane.
And that was also when she finally used her weird magic.
She sent out a single flare into the sky, which suddenly fragmented into tiny golden particles. Those particles hovered in the air for a few moments before swiftly homing down on each zombie present.
The zombies’ bodies weren’t pierced. If anything, it almost seemed like Jane’s attack had done nothing.
But that was also when a single zombie out of the thousands began expanding.
The expansion continued for a few moments, until finally…

It was a pretty silent explosion, but that was not the main goal here.
Instead, once the zombie died, it spread out the golden mana Jane had sent into their bodies. It was like the plague, as with every death, a zombie nearby got infected, causing them to explode.
And it didn’t take long for all hell to break loose.
—BOOOM
—BOOOOOM
—BOOM
The explosions rang out, and the ground began shaking so much that the nearby tombstones cracked, and some even broke.
But the explosive power seemed to increase with each passing moment.
The destructiveness began expanding toward Jane, so he didn’t hesitate to speed up his pace, arriving right in front of her.
She seemed tired, but at least she hadn’t passed out.
With his remaining hand, he grabbed her and tossed her on his free shoulder.
The moment he did, Neraxis used all the force in his foot to kick off the ground.
While he couldn’t exactly fly, he could glide.
From the sky, Neraxis finally glanced down toward the explosions that had continued to erupt, and by the second, he saw the graveyard erupt in flames.
Tombstones were shattered, and the zombies weren’t safe either, as they kept on imploding on each other. Since even if they came back, the golden mana continued to spread and cause the explosions to increase.
Even so, he watched the entire sight in silence alongside Evangeline and Jane.
“Well… I think the tombstone is gone now at least,” Neraxis commented.
“Don’t be too confident just yet. You never know, maybe some flaming zombie is going to appear and flick you out of the sky,” Evangeline said matter-of-factly.
“You two be quiet for a moment, I’m listening,” Jane muttered with an annoyed tone, causing Evangeline to lean over his shoulder and pinch Jane’s thigh.
“H-Hey!” Jane flinched, nearly falling off his shoulder. “Do that again and I’m going to throw you down to the zombies!”
“Ha? Try it.” Evangeline taunted.
But Neraxis didn’t bother with the two of them as he used his blood to cover both of their mouths and began gliding out of the graveyard.
There was a large temple in the distance, and that was exactly where he was heading.
Jane squirmed a bit too much, so he decided to remove his blood from her mouth, letting her speak.
“Wait. I want to see what happens with the graveyard—”
Her words were cut off mid-sentence by the sight behind them.
There was a massive sinkhole where the graveyard used to be. Frankly, he couldn’t even see the bottom, almost as if it was some kind of abyss.
“I guess that solves the issue?” Neraxis said, yet Jane remained motionless, still staring at the sight in awe.
“Is it really over…?” Jane muttered. “Are they free?”
“They look free to me,” Neraxis replied, landing on the soft soil a few kilometers away from the giant temple.
It was in the middle of nowhere, and there wasn’t even a single tree in sight, just a barren plain.
Even so, he let Jane have her mental breakdown as he himself decided to focus on the task ahead.
Sovereign of Pride… how am I going to deal with you?
