Chapter 102: Fate is cruel
When Rolan kissed Rose deeply, it was almost as if she was his everything, and he would do anything to take her away.
A sudden pain struck him when Rose used her knee to hit him between his legs.
Rolan’s brain snapped, and he was forced to break the addictive kiss, looking at Rose with hurt in his eyes.
“Why do you hurt me like this, Rose? It’s just a kiss. You don’t need to completely ruin me. How am I going to please you?” Rolan said, his voice carrying a joke, even though he was deeply hurt.
Rose’s face turned the shade of a tomato listening to Rolan speak. She thought that hit would reduce some of his cockiness, but she guessed she was wrong. Rolan was very strong-headed.
He was acting like a man obsessed with her, when in her past life, he didn’t give a damn about her.
“Look, I need to go to my son. Right now, he will be missing me,” Rose sighed, clutching her purse tighter.
Walking with her heels on the snow-filled ground, she thought she was finally leaving—until a very strong arm caught her wrist.
“We haven’t talked much yet. We need to talk, Rose. That man—who is he to you? I’ll confess, I don’t buy that he is the father of your son or that you two have been together for a long time. I’ll confess, he just looks like your recent admirer,” Rolan’s voice got calmer and calmer as he talked, and Rose’s heart was racing.
How could Rolan have figured all this out? He was very smart, and he had seen through all her lies. She couldn’t repeat the same lie again.
Thinking of this, Rose placed her hair behind her ear.
“To tell you… that man, he is my mate.”
Her voice was calm, coming out without trembling.
Her words felt like a dagger, striking straight at his heart, though she didn’t know it.
“What do you mean?” Rolan’s brows furrowed. Rose’s mate…
His heart was beating, and his brain was thinking fast.
Yes, Rose was a she-wolf. He had gotten involved with her when she had not yet awakened her wolf, so he wasn’t her mate…
He was meant to be the only one in her life. She didn’t need any mate.
But fate had to play a cruel trick by giving her a mate.
He never thought he would have such a powerful, strong opponent who would fight to take Rose from him.
With such an opponent like him, he could easily make Rose squirm. He could easily make her heart waver.
This—he could not accept.
“Rose, you can’t possibly tell me that you’re with him just because he’s your mate. What am I? Am I not important?”
His heart was crumbling, like falling buildings.
Rose pouted her lips, looking at Rolan’s expression.
He should stop looking at her like that.
What was she even still doing here? She should leave before she got tempted.
“Damien is my mate, Rolan, and maybe this is God’s sign that you should leave my life.”
Her hands clenched where Rolan couldn’t see. Her voice trembled, but she acted so well that Rolan didn’t notice all the details—only her words, hitting him hard like a hammer.
“Wow, Rose—” Rolan laughed suddenly, catching Rose off guard.

It was laughter, but it was extremely cold.
“You really enjoy hurting me, Rose,” Rolan said, looking at her with eyes as cold as a glacier.
He took a step forward, and she took a step back.
He paused, seeing her edging back. He just smirked more after seeing her reaction.
Rolan turned, walking to the car,
and then said, “Get in. I’ll take you home.”
Rose stood there, actively thinking of following him, but the weather was cold—it was snowing heavily.
Fumbling with her bracelet for a moment, she finally got back inside the car.
Inside the car, Rolan ignored her presence after she got in. He started the engine, and the car moved.
The black Mercedes parked at the front of a children’s school. The school had closed, and many children could be seen going home with their parents.
Tobi, with his short legs, waited for his mummy. His small eyes only spotted a black flashy car, and then his mummy came out of the car. He wanted to run to her until he saw the mean uncle that he didn’t like.
Rose walked to Tobi, who was already sending a dead glare at Rolan with his small eyes.
“Dear son, Mummy is here,” Rose smiled, quickly going to hug Tobi, ignoring the small detail of Tobi glaring at Rolan.
Rolan was only smirking, looking at Tobi’s small scowling face—an action that provoked Tobi even more.
“Mummy, what are you doing with this uncle?” Tobi glared at Rolan, then turned to Rose to ask.
Rose smiled, carrying awkwardness. She knew that Tobi didn’t like Rolan, and she, too, wanted him to stay away from Rolan.
She only smiled, telling him a partially honest truth.
“Oh dear, Uncle gave Mummy a lift. He saved her from the heavy coming snow.”
“Oh, I see—” Tobi said in his small voice, looking at Rose as if he didn’t believe her. Sweat formed on Rose’s forehead, almost making her wonder why her baby was acting like a detective.
“Mummy, why is it Uncle who gave you a lift? Aren’t there other people out there?” Tobi pouted his lips and asked after a while.
“Uncle was just there,” Rose sighed, taking Tobi’s backpack.
Rolan just shook his head, hearing what Tobi was saying to Rose. The kid was pissing him off, and he might as well look for trouble with the kid.
“Hey—” Rolan started, kneeling to Tobi’s short height.
He then leaned in, whispering in Tobi’s ear,
“I’ll steal your Mummy away from you.”
A smirk stretched on his face as he thought he had succeeded in annoying Tobi.
As expected, Tobi started crying, causing Rose to carry him up.
“Oh dear, stop crying,” Rose comforted him and then glared at Rolan.
Rolan only shrugged his shoulders like he felt that what he did was not wrong.
“Get in,” Rolan just said, slipping into the car.
Rose carried Tobi, guiding him into the car…
