Chapter 103: Father and son
Tobi smiled, jiggling into the house with Rose. Rolan was walking behind them with a neutral, cold expression. Rose had almost forgotten his presence and just wanted to close the door shut when a large hand blocked it, stopping her from closing it. She turned her gaze, meeting Rolan’s cold expression.
Rose raised a brow as if asking him what he wanted.
“I am not invited in?” he said, his voice as cold as ice, his gaze trailing to the small Tobi, as if suspecting that Tobi would throw a tantrum at any moment—and Rose would not allow him to stay.
As he suspected, Rose caught Tobi’s sleeve, saying in a mischievous, small voice, “Mummy, Uncle can’t stay if you don’t want him to stay with us.”
Rolan clenched his fist and glared at Tobi. This small little brat—he always liked to spoil his plans. Veins were almost popping out from his forehead, but he had to act decent because Rose was in front of him.
“You heard him right. Tobi doesn’t want you to stay here, and I’ll listen to my dear son,” Rose smirked, looking at him with cool, fierce eyes. She enjoyed the show in front of her—the way Rolan’s veins were popping because of Tobi.
“Rose, you can’t be mean to me. I found you in the heavy cold snow,” Rolan said, his voice small, trying to act like a victim.
Rose grimaced embarrassedly the moment she heard what he said.
Was he being for real? He was the one who kidnapped her from her company and brought them from the cold snow. There was no one as shameless as him. Should she thank him, or should she smack his head?
Rolan saw the way Rose was looking at him, and he knew it was all his fault—that he was being ridiculous.
“Just let me in. I haven’t said anything. I just came to your place,” Rolan blinked, smirking, gazing at her up and down.
Tobi pouted with a cold, indifferent expression.
This man… Why did he always come here?
He shouldn’t be here… But hearing that he was hungry, her motherly heart wouldn’t let him go away without feeding him.
She couldn’t believe herself—she was feeling empathy for the crazy bastard.
Rolan smiled secretly in his heart, seeing that Rose’s cold expression was almost fading away. In his heart, he smirked and jumped in jubilation, even dancing disco in his head.
Rose’s feelings were left unresolved.
Rolan was left with a hidden smirk in his heart, but only Tobi was frowning with his puffed cheeks, his pink lips pouting, his small fist clenching.
He wouldn’t allow the uncle to eat his mummy’s meal, her food.
“You can come in,” Rose sighed, lazily gesturing to Rolan. She had lost all the strength to say anything else to him.
“Alright,” Rolan smirked, taking a step into the house.
The place was clean and smelled fresh, hiding the fact that they didn’t have much money.
Rose placed Tobi on the table.
She brushed his front hair and said, “You just wait here for Mummy. Mummy will make you something tasty in a minute.”
As she spoke to Tobi, Rolan raised a brow, taking the chance to approach Rose.
“Rose, what about me? Won’t you keep me safely on the couch just like you did for him? I am also your little boy,” he teased.
Rose’s lips parted slightly, and a hand trembled. Her body instinctively wanted to back away from his hold, but Rolan held her firmly, a smirk on his face.
“Rolan, you are being shameless in front of a child. You should let me go now,” she yelled, her hands trembling, eyes shifting back and forth between Rolan and Tobi.
Tobi’s small mouth was left open as he stared at his uncle holding his mommy so close. “What are you doing to my mommy? Let her go!” Tobi said, biting his small lips and pointing his short fingers at Rolan.
Rolan smirked, pulling Rose even closer as if Tobi’s threat meant nothing to him.

“Rolan, that is enough! You better let me go now—you are in front of a child!” Rose stated firmly, finally pulling away from him with force.
Rolan raised his hands in the air as if saying he hadn’t done anything wrong and that he had let go as she requested.
Rose just let out a small huff and walked to the kitchen to start making dinner. Meanwhile, Tobi and Rolan sat on the couch, staring at each other.
Tobi brought his small hand forward, grabbing the remote. He turned on the TV and switched to a cartoon channel.
Rolan looked at him with narrowed eyes.
“Grown men should watch the news,” Rolan said as he reached out to change the channel.
This resulted in Tobi glaring at him with his small, sharp eyes.
“Put my cartoon back,” pouted Tobi.
“What if I won’t?” Rolan shrugged, folding his arms.
Tobi smirked in his heart, remembering what Darius had told him. He moved his small lips and said,
“I can cry right now and tell Mummy that you hit me. Let’s see if she doesn’t chase you out.”
Rolan dropped the remote immediately—he didn’t want that.
This kid was a little devil. He had always seen him like that.
“Come on, who gave you such weird ideas? Tell me, is it your wolf?” Rolan asked, pinching Tobi’s cheeks while looking him in the eye.
Tobi forcefully pulled his cheeks away from Rolan.
“You are a mean, bad uncle.”
“Uncle is sorry. Watch the cartoons that you want, I won’t interfere.”
Tobi pouted, looking at Rolan with suspicion, wondering why he was suddenly being nice.
“Are you for real? Don’t you want to watch the news anymore?”
Tobi raised an eyebrow at Rolan.
Rolan shook his head. No.
Tobi looked at Rolan with hesitant glances before saying, “You can join me and watch cartoons.”
Rolan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry hearing that.
He ended up looking at the screen, watching cartoons with a kid. He never imagined this day would come in his life.
What was that? A duck on the TV? What was the duck doing?
He couldn’t tell—was the duck trying to break a man’s head?
Is this what kids watch? Is this appropriate?
For some reason, Rolan imagined himself as the man, and Tobi as the duck that was hitting him.
“Kid, what kind of education is this cartoon giving you?” Rolan suddenly asked.
Tobi turned to look at him.
“It’s funny,” he giggled, going back to focusing on the cartoon.
Kids’ sense of humor—he couldn’t understand it.
Maybe this was one of the reasons why he always thought Tobi was a little devil.
