Chapter 104: Reasons of her viciousness
Holding two plates in her hands, Rose came into the parlor, meeting Rolan and Tobi watching cartoons. With a lot of interest, she couldn’t help but stop her movement.
This… Her breath caught. Just looking at the image of Rolan and Tobi sitting together gave her strange feelings in her heart.
They were father and child. They looked so close right now, like they had known each other for a very long time. Rose sighed, looking at Tobi and Rolan. Taking a deep breath, she walked to the semi-parlor table, placing the meal on it immediately, getting the attention of Rolan and Tobi.
Tobi turned his small head and called, “Mum.” Rose smiled back at him.
She went on to pick him up from the chair.
“Come sit with Mum. I’ll feed you. Mummy will,” she said, carrying out all of this action while ignoring Rolan’s presence with a sweet smile on her face.
She could feel Rolan’s gaze burning on her as she ignored him.
Why was he looking at her so intently? She had also kept a plate of food for him on the table.
She fed Tobi anyway. Tobi tasted the meal, beaming with delight at the flavor on his lips.
Rolan was still looking at her. She hadn’t turned to face him, but she could feel his gaze burning into her.
“Ahem.” She cleared her throat and continued feeding Tobi.
Later, it was Tobi who turned, glancing at Rolan. “Uncle, won’t you eat? Aren’t you hungry?”
Rolan’s gaze finally left Rose and shifted to Tobi. “Yes, I’ll eat,” Rolan said, smirking.
Rose knew that he was okay, yet she couldn’t help but scold herself in her head.
But why was she bothering about the gaze she felt burning on her?
“Mummy, won’t you eat? You are just feeding me,” Tobi raised his small head, looking at Rose with curious eyes. Rose smiled, adding another spoonful of food into his mouth before she said, “Mummy just wants to make sure you are fed properly before she eats.”
“Oh, okay.” Tobi nodded while munching. She smiled.
‘Rolan…’ Her thoughts trailed to him. He was there, eating the meal she had made, his expression serious and expressionless. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking. At that moment, he also raised his head, and their gazes met.
Rose coughed fiercely, taking her gaze back to Tobi and his meal.
“Alright, son, that’s it. Let’s clean your teeth and put you to bed. A shower would be nice, but the weather is cold.”
Rose hurriedly wiped Tobi’s lips, carrying him in her arms and leaving the plates and Rolan behind.
Rolan’s hand, holding his fork, paused as he watched Rose walk away.
There was little noise in the room. It took thirty minutes before Rose came back to the parlor. She looked at Rolan sitting on the couch.
“It’s time to go. Aren’t you done with your meal?” Rose said while looking at the time on her watch, noticing that he was barely done with his meal.
Rolan looked at her, his eyes emotionless.
Why was he looking at her like that?
“Rose,” Rolan called in a low breath, and Rose’s breath caught as she looked at him.
Why did Rolan look so quiet now? The mood he was setting made her uneasy. She could barely understand him.
Rolan looked out the window, his gaze distant, as if he was watching the heavy snow fall.

“Can I stay?” Rolan asked.
Rose clenched her fist from where he couldn’t see.
“I have told you no, Rolan. You can’t stay,” she said.
Rolan looked at her with a low smirk on his lips.
“Alright,” he said.
His response made Rose pause. She hadn’t expected him to accept it so easily like that. She thought he would act his usual way—cocky and domineering.
“See you later,” Rolan said.
Rose was caught off guard when, suddenly, she felt his presence in front of her. He had moved super fast, and she felt his hand on her head. She paused her actions, then saw Rolan walking out of the door, closing it behind him.
She was still lost in thought when she felt his hand on her head, and before she could react, he had already walked out the door. She hadn’t even had the time to look.
He was out of her sight.
“God, what was that?” Rose said, clenching her fist. Her hands found their way to her heart—it was beating irregularly.
…
“Jennifer, you are not Daddy’s innocent girl anymore.”
It was in a room at the Stewart family mansion. Mr. Stewart stood facing his older daughter, Jennifer.
“What are you saying, Daddy?” Jennifer smiled, trying to look at her father with an innocent expression, but her innocent-looking face didn’t hide the viciousness in her.
“You will never change, Jennifer. You are following in your mother’s footsteps—destroying people’s relationships and lives.”
Jennifer clenched her fist. She didn’t believe any of the words her father was saying to her. She wasn’t wrong—she was always right.
She was only taking what had rightfully belonged to her. She just wanted to keep what had rightfully belonged to her on her side. She only wanted to protect it…
Her little sister had stolen something that belonged to her.
She had secured their mother’s love. It was their father who was the tough one to get. Jennifer had tried to win him over by acting innocent, but for some reason, he only looked at her with disapproval. He didn’t understand her like their mother did.
“I haven’t broken anyone’s relationship. Rolan was already mine. I was just trying to take back what had rightfully belonged to me,” Jennifer said, looking at her father. She was right in this—she wasn’t wrong…
“Jennifer!” Mr. Stewart called in a thunderous voice. “Can you hear yourself? You were engaged to Rolan, but on the day of the wedding, you ran away out of wimp to have fun with another man… You handed him over to your sister!”
Veins were popping on Mr. Stewart’s forehead. Jennifer could see it.
“Jennifer, you are very spoiled,” Mr. Stewart said, taking deep breaths.
Jennifer clenched her fists until her nails were digging into her flesh.
Her father didn’t understand her. He was on Rose’s side.
Should she use the posion on her father instead of Rolan?
It would be better to make him like her now…
