Chapter 105: Office burn down
Another explosion came, and this time, it broke the window. The sharks pierced her skin.
“Ahhh!” Rose screamed, feeling the pain in her back.
The horror of her past life was coming back.
She couldn’t be weak at this time. If she didn’t stay awake, she would die—just like she did in her past life.
She still had people she didn’t want to lose—her son, her father, her best friend.
Her hand found her phone, and hurriedly, she ran to the door, but it was locked, refusing to open.
She struggled, trying to force it open.
She gritted her teeth, her hands shaking as she dialed her friend’s number. It wasn’t going through.
With panic setting in, she dialed another random number—then another.
Nothing.
The fire had already spread into the office, burning the curtains.
The fire had already spread into the office, burning the curtains.
Her hand hit the door and struggled to open it, but there was no way — the door refused to budge open.
Rose bit her lips, turning her head to look anxiously back and forth at the window and the room; everything was caught in a blaze.
Was this how she was going to die again, leaving her son behind?
Her hand kept dragging the door open, but the handle of the door had already gotten hot, and it burnt her hand when she tried to hold it. The burning sensation sent her falling backward as she let go of the door handle.
There was no exit to the office again. The contact couldn’t be reached. She hoped the people she had called would come for her.
Rose looked once more, this time around, up the ceiling. She hoped there might be a way there… The fire alarm in the company had started ringing.
Rose closed her eyes, airing her head in her knees.
“I’m here, Rose,” Yuna’s voice suddenly came. Rose raised her head up immediately, wiping her face.
Yes, she had Yuna… with Yuna, she would escape from this.
“Let’s shift, Rose,” Yuna said. Rose nodded her head. She got up from the floor with unstable feet, but she made herself stable.
“Let’s shift,” Rose said, closing her eyes as her words turned into a roar. Blue light covered her. Vaguely behind the blue lights, a woman was shifting into a wolf — Rose had finally turned into a wolf.
“Where shall we go, Yuna?” Rose asked.
“The window.”
Rose leaped towards the window even if it was in flames, but something suddenly fell from above, falling on her wolf.
Rose roared, a painful werewolf cry.
Her legs, no matter how fast a werewolf was, didn’t see that coming, and she couldn’t run away.
The thing that hit her was a plank, a flaming plank.
That seemed to have destroyed her bones, and the flames had peeled her werewolf skin.

“Someone, please help me,” Rose muttered, her eyes giving up in pain.
Beep beep, the machine made repeatedly. Rose opened her eyes groggily.
Stretching her hand, but there was a drip on it, almost coming out.
“Where am I?” she mumbled, looking around.
“Where is my son?”
“The patient is awake!” a nurse said, running outside.
“Rose!”
“Rose!”
“Rose!”
Three voices called at the same time. Rose looked weakly at the door at those who were calling her before she saw the door pushed open.
“Who are those?”
She muttered, her gaze still fixed on the door.
Soon, the door opened. Three people walked in, two males and one female.
“Rose,” the female called, rushing to Rose, touching her with worries.
“Who are you?” Rose questioned, looking at the female, eyes widened.
“It’s me, Zara… you can’t have memory loss, right?”
Zara looked at her with sad eyes, her hand reaching to feel her forehead.
Rose felt her head heavy after Zara’s words. Her friends…
Her memories began recollecting.
“Zara?!” Rose called. Zara nodded.
Everything became clear to Rose as she recovered memories of what happened to her.
“Where’s Tobi?”
Rose asked. Tobi… who was he with since Zara was here?
“He’s with your father,” Zara said. Rose felt relief.
…
Rolan stood there observing Rose and Zara, without a word. His gaze did not even shift to Damien standing there, and Rose hadn’t noticed him yet.
“Rose, are you okay?” Rolan went to her. Zara, for some reason, gave him space.
“Rose, are you okay?” he repeated his question. Rose looked at him, her eyes concealing unreadable emotions. There was no response given to him.
“Zara… my office, it was blown… I was pressed by something on my legs. Zara, my legs, are they okay?” Rose removed her PhD, looking down at her PhD… she had tried moving them, but she felt nothing.
“Zara, what happened to me?” Rose asked, looking at Zara, her gaze trembling.
“It is…” Zara hesitated to talk. Her gaze shifted to the floor and then to Rolan and Damien .
“Tell me what’s going on,” Rose was getting suspicious. Nobody was saying anything to her. They acted as if her condition was serious, as if she would be like this forever.
“Your legs… they have been paralyzed,” Zara clasped her mouth and almost didn’t want to talk again because she regretted it, but she had already said it.
Rose looked at her with a smile. “What did you say?” It was a sarcastic smile, in disbelief by what Zara had said.
“I believe in you. The doctor said that you’ll be okay, and you’ll be okay. There’s nothing for you to panic about. You just need to calm down and digest every news,” Zara said, placing her hand on Rose’s hair to calm her down.
How could she be paralyzed? She never expected this to happen to her, never. Why had this happened to her? What leg will she use to take Tobi to school? What leg will she use to go to the kitchen to make Tobi breakfast? What legs will she use to accompany him to the park? And this had happened to her, her legs had just been paralyzed — everything.
“This must be a cruel joke, Zara! Tell me that it is a joke, please! You should tell it to my face that this is a joke and not the truth!” Rose trembled in her words as she held Zara’s shoulders, questioning her.
“Rose, it is not permanent. There is still hope. You should not panic. You will be okay.” These were the only words Zara could say to comfort Rose. Saying any other words might make her more upset and hate herself more. It was also unexpected. It was very unexpected for a bomb to be set at her office. Her best friend, Yuna, also felt sorry for her since she knew what happened to her.
Rose didn’t say a word after Zara said this. She just kept silent and smooth still there like a void, with no emotion, true or just looking blankly. It was Rolan that took the courage to approach her.
“We are here for you, Rose. We will always be here for you. You should not panic. We are not going to leave you in this cruel condition,” Rolan said as he approached her. He said those words, but Rose only glanced silently at him without replying.
“Rose, does it hurt anywhere?” Damien finally said his second word since he came to that place. He took the opportunity and also went close to Rose. Rose gave him more attention by responding, “It doesn’t hurt, I’m fine, it doesn’t hurt… I feel nothing in my legs…” Tears came from her eyes, and Damien moved to wipe her eyes.
Rolan clenched his fist.
