Chapter 124: Rolan, you bastard!
Zara’s fists clenched as a wave of anger surged through her. She couldn’t believe a mother would speak that way about her own child.
She had heard rumors about how badly Rose was treated by her mother, but this was the first time she was hearing it herself. And now, it hurt more than she expected.
She didn’t know how long Rose had endured this cold, cruel treatment—how much pain she had bottled up—before finally deciding to run away from everything.
“All I want to know is if you have any idea where Rose is—please. If you have any information about her, you should tell me. Rose is crippled right now—she’s not okay. She needs your help.”
There was a long pause on the line after Zara mentioned that Rose was crippled.
Miss Stella’s tone turned skeptical.
“She’s crippled?”
“Yes, she is,” Zara confirmed, hoping Miss Stella would finally show some concern.
Instead, Stella replied coldly,
“Shouldn’t I have known something like this would happen? That she’d end up crippled and useless for a long time? Well, so she’s crippled now—my lovely little girl. Why is she always so unlucky? Life is so… pointless.”
Zara blinked in confusion. What did that even mean? She couldn’t make sense of Miss Stella’s words. The woman was impossible to understand—cold, contradictory, detached.
“Please, ma’am, if you do find anything out about Rose, I’m begging you to let me know. She needs to start treatment as soon as possible.”
Miss Stella replied flatly, “If I find anything about Rose, I’ll give you the information.”
Zara was stunned. She hadn’t expected Miss Stella to stay this calm without spewing more venom or acting like the villain she’d heard so much about.
Sure, she was a terrible person—but this time, she didn’t sound as cruel as usual. And somehow, that was even more unsettling.
“Well, thank you, ma’am,” Zara said, and the call ended. She gritted her teeth, annoyed. Why did both mother and daughter always end calls on her like that?
“Damien, I still don’t know where Rose is. Even Miss Stella doesn’t know,” Zara said dejectedly, turning to him.
“Don’t be sad. We’ll find Rose—wherever she is,” Damien said calmly.
Zara nodded and gave him a soft smile. “Thank you for caring about Rose. And thank you for everything you’ve done to help find her. Don’t worry—I’ll make sure to tell her how much effort you put in when we find her.”
She smiled, but before Damien could respond, her phone started ringing. It was Caleb calling.
“Where are you? Aren’t you coming home tonight?” Caleb asked, his voice coming through the speaker.
Zara shot an awkward glance at Damien. She smiled politely and answered, “Something came up. I’m at a friend’s place. I’ll be coming soon.”
“Okay, baby. Just tell me your location—I’ll come to you,” Caleb said.
Zara rolled her eyes. He was being way too clingy. “I said I’m on my way. Don’t be so impatient. I’m just worried about you,” she added, trying to soften her tone.
But inside, she felt smothered. Caleb’s constant hovering was starting to feel suffocating.
“Sorry, I need to go now. I’ll talk to you later, Damien,” she said apologetically.
Damien nodded. “It’s okay. Go talk to your boyfriend,” he said with a smirk.
Zara flushed slightly, grabbed her purse, and hurried out of the room.
After Zara left, Damien stood still for a moment, then walked out to the balcony. He looked up at the moon, his jaw clenched.

“I know who took her,” he muttered in a dangerously low voice. “Rolan, you bastard.”
He couldn’t accept it. He had just met his mate, and Rolan was already doing everything possible to take her away from him.
His eyes burned with anger just as his phone rang. He picked up the call.
“Kelvin , what do you want from me?” he asked sharply.
“Oh, brother dear, where are you right now? There’s a family meeting going on, and you’re not here,” Kelvin said, his tone urgent.
Damien paused. “I’m not coming to the meeting. Something important came up—I have to take care of it.”
“What could possibly be more important than a family meeting?” Kelvin asked, stunned. Damien was known for being disciplined; he never missed anything related to the family business or personal obligations.
“What could have possibly distracted him this much?” Kelvin wondered.
“It’s about Rose. I can’t come,” Damien said plainly.
At that moment, Kelvin fell silent. He understood. His brother was in love. And the only thing that could shake Damien like this… was love.
“Alright, I get it. Be with your girlfriend and skip the family stuff. I’ll come up with an excuse for you,” Kelvin said.
“Thank you,” Damien replied, and the call ended.
Not long after, Damien slipped his hand into his pocket, pulled out another phone, and dialed a number. As the line rang, the atmosphere around him shifted—his entire aura changed, becoming colder, more dangerous.
When the call connected, a voice answered on the other end.
“So, have you gotten any information? Do you know who took my mate?” Damien asked.
The person replied, “She was spotted being taken out of the house by a man, placed into a car, and then the vehicle drove toward the airport. After that, I lost track. It seems whoever did this was smart—they erased most of the traces that could lead us to them. There’s no record at the airport, no sign of a final destination.”
Damien’s jaw tightened. “Very smart, Rolan. Very smart,” he muttered.
Rolan had done well to cover their tracks, but he made one mistake—he didn’t hide the fact that someone left. That was enough. Damien didn’t need full details. He already knew it was Rolan. And more than that, he knew he could find Rose, with or without a private detective.
She was his mate. That bond alone was enough.
He could feel her, sense her, track her—no matter where she went. Whether she traveled by land, sea, or air, he would find her.
“I’ll call you again when I need more help,” Damien said. “You did a good job. Expect the transfer—my man will handle it.”
Then he ended the call, his expression as sharp as steel.
The person on the other end of the call expressed their gratitude and thanked him. Damien ended the call without emotion. Then, under the light of the full moon, he shifted into a large, powerful wolf and leapt off the terrace.
