Chapter 130: You’re so cute
“Who is this instructor you’ve arranged for me, Rolan? I don’t want to meet them,” Rose complained, trying to stop him in his tracks.
But Rolan kept pushing her wheelchair steadily through the unfamiliar halls. Since Rose couldn’t walk, she had no idea where he was taking her. This mansion was huge, and she was basically trapped in it.
Rolan only smiled in response. “It’s for your own good. Why are you acting like I’m about to kidnap you?”
“Of course you are!” Rose snapped. “You’ve already kidnapped me once—why wouldn’t I be scared?”
He chuckled, clearly amused by her defiance. She wasn’t wrong. He had taken her once. He could easily do it again.
Rolan leaned down and peeked at her face, his voice low and teasing. “Behave.” Then he ruffled her hair.
Rose’s eyes widened. Did he just treat her like a child? She blinked at him, her expression a mix of confusion and offense.
He ruffled my hair?! What the hell does that mean?!
She rolled her eyes with a huff. Rolan just kept smiling, pushing her along until they reached a large, empty swimming pool. The space was silent, isolated. There wasn’t a single soul around.
Her frown deepened.
So this was where he’d brought her. It felt so private, so prepared—like Rolan had been planning this for a while. A chill went down her spine.
He’s a devil. A complete devil.
While she was still glancing around and taking in the space, her eyes landed on a woman standing in the distance. The woman wore a sleek white swimming suit and smiled gently at them.
Rolan kept pushing the wheelchair forward until they reached the woman.
“Nice to meet you, Madam Rose,” the woman greeted, her smile polite and controlled.
“Nice to meet you too,” Rose replied hesitantly, raising an eyebrow. Who is this woman?
Rolan stepped beside her and explained, “This is your physical therapist. Starting today, she’ll be helping you with your recovery. It’s time for your first session—to start working on your legs.”
So that’s who she is, Rose thought, her heart dropping.
The woman stepped closer and knelt beside her. “How are your legs feeling today? Any sensation at all?”
She gently placed a hand on Rose’s thigh.
Rose’s face immediately fell. Her expression turned stiff, her heart sinking like a stone.
She couldn’t feel a thing.
Nothing. Still nothing.
She had hoped—prayed—that maybe today would be different. That maybe, just maybe, she’d feel something.
She turned to look at Rolan, eyes glistening with unshed tears.
“Rolan… I thought I could feel something… but I can’t. I can’t feel anything.”
“Miss Rose, calm down. Did you say you felt something before?”
Rose opened her mouth, ready to say yes—but the words caught in her throat. She couldn’t tell the woman that she thought she’d had hope. That for just a moment, she believed she might walk again.
Her eyes shifted to Rolan.
He noticed her hesitation. She was struggling, unable to speak clearly to the instructor. The woman, gentle in her manner, didn’t push. But Rose was already starting to feel irritated. Still, she knew this was for her own good—she had to behave.

The woman wheeled her closer to the pool. With Rolan’s help, Rose was lifted from the chair and lowered gently to sit on the pool’s edge, her legs submerged in the water.
The instructor turned to her. “You’ll need to dip in fully. Let’s see if your legs can respond.”
Rose gave a small nod.
Rolan took off his shirt and entered the pool first, reaching out to guide her in carefully. Her cheeks burned red. Why did he have to be the one doing this?
The instructor followed them into the pool.
“Miss Rose, can you feel anything?” she asked.
Rose shook her head. “No… I can’t.”
Rolan gave a small smile—and then, he gently touched her thigh.
In that moment, Rose felt something.
Her breath caught.
What was that? She stared at him, eyes wide in disbelief. Her heart was pounding. She had felt something.
“Rose, you can do it,” Rolan said gently. “See? Your legs can still feel. But I don’t want them to only react when I touch you. I want you to be able to feel on your own. I want your legs to wake up because of you. Not because of me.”
He leaned closer, voice low but firm.
“Do you understand what I’m saying? You need to believe in yourself. Believe that you can move again. Don’t be afraid.”
The instructor’s eyes flicked away, pretending she hadn’t just witnessed what Rolan had done. A small, amused smile curled on her lips.
“Well, Miss Rose,” she said, composed. “I believe I understand your condition better now. I’ll follow up after doing a bit more research. For today, you’ve done well. You need to rest.”
“She’s right,” Rolan added with a light smile. “You’re doing great.”
Then, without warning, he leaned in and kissed her cheek.
Rose’s face turned a deep shade of pink. Her eyes darted to the instructor, who stood with that same unreadable smile.
What the hell is wrong with him?!
How could he do something that intimate right in front of someone?!
Her whole face heated up. Her fingers found Rolan’s hand—and she pinched him.
Rolan just chuckled, his expression cold and unreadable, like he hadn’t just embarrassed her in front of someone.
The instructor stepped out of the pool, offered a polite goodbye, and left without another word.
Rolan carried Rose in a princess carry as he stepped out of the pool, guiding her back into the house. He found some towels, dried her off, and carefully cleaned her up.
Rose just sat there, speechless.
He was treating her like a princess. She couldn’t act like her usual bratty self—not when he was being so gentle. So she just… accepted it. Quietly. Obediently.
Rolan let out a low chuckle as he watched her behave.
“You’re so cute,” he murmured, unable to hold back.
Rose immediately glared at him. “Mind yourself. I’m only acting like this because you’re being nice to me, got that?”
Rolan chuckled again, amused. “Yes, yes. I get it. You’re being obedient because I’m being kind.”
But in his heart, he was glad. At least she wasn’t pushing him away anymore.
Suddenly—thunk!
An arrow shot through the window.
Rolan’s reflexes kicked in instantly. His arms wrapped around Rose as he leapt off the bed, rolling with her to the floor. The arrow embedded itself exactly where her head had been just moments ago.
Rose’s eyes widened. She clutched onto Rolan, startled.
Once he made sure she was safe, he gently let go and rose to his feet, eyes sharp. He walked toward the arrow lodged in the headboard.
It was glowing green… and the moment he reached for it, it disintegrated into dust.
His brow furrowed deeply.
“What the hell is this?”
He clenched his fists, his jaw clenched.
