Chapter 133: cruel game
Rose sat by the window thinking about her new found fate.
“I can’t believe that I will be reduced to this state” She pondered
“Why does it have to be him that has the ability to bring out such emotions in me?” She plunged into deeper thoughts.
Lost in thoughts, she failed to realize the one who stood by the entrance of the door looking at her, having a somber look on the face.
The intruder tiptoed into the room and silently moved into her direction.
Tears dropped down Rose’s eyes as she recalled everything that has happened in her life.
“Am I a blessing or a curse?” She wondered, having a feeling that life has given her a second chance in order to make mockery of her.
Feeling a tap on her thigh, she jerked back to reality and realized that it was Roland looking at her, having concern in his eyes.
Rolan cleaned the tears in her eyes and she cringed. She hated how she responded to his touch.
“What are you doing here?” She asked sternly trying to hide the gloominess that was in her voice.
Rolan sighed out loud as he gently placed his hands on Rose’s cheeks.
“Checking up on you of course,” Rolan said as his deep eyes had a hint of tenderness and compassion in them.
Rose rolled her eyes as a look of disgust was seen in them but that was not enough reason to make Roland back out.
“I’ll protect her from all harms, with the last drop of my blood,” Rolan thought to himself as a smirk was seen at the corner of his lips.
Rose raised her eyebrows as she wondered what the one who had stood before her was thinking. The room fell into an awkward silence as each of them were preoccupied with their thoughts.
Rolan left the room, after a while, he came back with fruits and Rose widened her eyes when she saw them.
“Why is he treating me like this? He has not treated me like this before,” she pondered.
Knowing that in the first life, they were cat and rat and they never seemed to agree on a particular thing.
Rolan bent down and placed the plate beside the bedside shelf.
He took a slice of the fruit and gave it to her, at first she rejected it, thinking that it had a way of affecting him, but she figured out that he had an annoying smirk on his face.
She sighed out loud and took the fruit from him. Rolan breathed out a sigh of relief as he watched her eat the fruits.
Rose was enjoying the treatment that had been shown to her but didn’t want to show it out so she kept a calm look.
The fruits finished at a faster pace and she needed more but she was too shy to ask him.
Rolan seemed to know what she was thinking so he asked.
“Did you want more?”
Rose went still for a moment before she nodded her head.
Rolan’s lips curved upwards as he stood up in order to gets more fruit.
Rose breathed in deeply as she cannot tell what was wrong with her heart.
“Stupid heart,” she cussed.
She felt anger and betrayed about what was going at the same time and pondered on who had caused the deadly catastrophe.

“Who could have caused this??” Rose pondered.
“I don’t recall offending anyone in my previous life,” She plunged into deeper thoughts.
Rose racked her brains trying to figure out who her enemies were but unfortunately she couldn’t recall offending anybody.
Rose sighed as ahe wondered how the course of her life was going to look like.
“Will I be like this for the rest of my life?” She thought.
Tears formed in the corner of her eyes as she struggled to embrace her new fate.
The fact that she’s numb to everything around her and the numbness feeling can only be removed when Rolan touches her is enough reason to break her heart.
The door opened and Rose cleaned her tears, having a cheerful expression on although the gloomy countenance was hidden beneath the cheerful expression.
Rolan had a sympathetic gaze as he looked at her. Looking her with a gaze that seemed to break through her defenses, she shuddered.
“Why is he looking at me like a predator ready to devour it’s prey” She pondered.
Rolan touched her and a chill ran down her spine. Rolan noticed that she had an awkward look on her face as he rubbed the space between his eyebrows.
“Are you okay?” Rolan asked.
Rose nodded as she tried to calm her raging heart.
Rolan did not ask further questions as he wanted to feed her.
“Can I do this myself?” She asked as she was becoming too uncomfortable for her.
Rolan nodded as he gave her the fruit, noticing that she was becoming too uncomfortable, he left the room.
Rose heaved a sigh of relief as she ate the fruit with relish.

At the underground building.
A woman stood before two masked men as an evil smirk was seen on her face.
“I told you to kill her, you came back with out blood in your hands
The woman could not decipher the look that was seen on one of the masked man’s faces.
The man suddenly removed his mask as there was a huge scar on the right side of his face.
“You did not make specifics when we started the game, now you want this?” He coldly said as he gazed at her with a deadly gaze
The man was definitely not the assassin Rolan caught
The woman felt chills run down through her spine as she kept mute for a while.
“I changed my mind,” She said, although she was trembling a bit.
“And you did not bother to let us know?” The man said as the temperature was freezing cold.
The woman kept mute as she was at loss of what to do. Replying to him can either mean two things.
Her safety or her doom.
