Chapter 137: Excape
Back in the present, Rose took a deep breath, walking over to the window. She placed her hand on it and stared outside. She sighed, feeling mentally exhausted from everything. She missed her dear son so much and longed to be with him. Right now, she just stood there, feeling like a caged bird—one that couldn’t fly anywhere. Rolan had kept her here, and she was trapped in this place.
“Yuna, I want to say something to you, but please don’t take offense,” Yuna suddenly said, pulling Rose’s attention back inward.
“Yes, Yuna, what is it?” Rose asked.
Yuna cleared her throat before speaking. “You know, now that you’re cured, you can escape. Why are you still here? You’re on two feet and yet feel so helpless. Did you want to stay like this forever? You’re acting like you’re useless and dumb.”
At that moment, Rose’s mind clicked. Why hadn’t she thought of that before? She wasn’t a cripple anymore—she could escape. There were doors, windows, everywhere she could use to run away. But she had been stuck here, acting as though she were still hopeless, just like when she was paralyzed.
“Oh, yes, Yuna. I should have thought of that, but I was so dumb and didn’t see it. Thank you. Thank you,” Rose said, a smile creeping onto her lips.
“Yes, I’ve heard you,” Yuna replied. “Now, since we’ve decided to run away, we need to make a plan. No one can know about this. Rolan mustn’t find out that you’re planning your escape.”
Rose nodded in agreement. “Yes, indeed. If I want to escape, I need a plan so I won’t get caught. I don’t want that to happen. I need to do this successfully.”
Yuna paused for a moment before speaking again. “Rolan has kept you here, but he’s not restricting you from going outside or viewing the house. However, there are guards—big, bodybuilder men—and of course, there are strong betters. They’re not ordinary humans. Rose, this is going to be tough.”
Rose stayed quiet, thinking deeply. How would she escape? It seemed so difficult, almost impossible.
“We need a distraction,” Rose said suddenly, an idea clicking in her mind.
“This might seem so hard, but we can’t win if we don’t try. I need to try so I can escape. Overthinking this will just keep me locked in here,” Rose said, determination in her voice.
Yuna nodded. “Yes, that’s the spirit. If you work hard, we need to try before overthinking things. If we keep thinking this is too hard, we’re not going to get anywhere. We can’t escape if we don’t act. We need to get away from that stinky wolf,” Yuna said, as if she had some beef with Rolan.
Rose nodded, clenching her fists. She then moved like a snake, carefully making her way out of her room. Rolan didn’t seem to be around, so this was their chance.
“Rolan,” Rose murmured as she made her way down the stairs, walking slowly like a mouse, afraid anyone might find out she was trying to run away. She moved so slowly that Yuna had to scold her.
“You’re walking too slowly, bitch. You look so suspicious. Walk normally!” Yuna instructed.
Feeling awkward, Rose cleared her throat and began walking normally, still heading down the stairs. Servants were walking around the house, and as they saw her, they greeted her.
“Good evening, ma’am.”
“Good evening, ma’am,” they said.
“Yeah, good evening,” Rose replied in her usual voice. As she responded, she didn’t lose focus on her mission and continued walking at a steady pace.
The house had four doors, and she went to the middle one. It took her about twenty seconds to get there, and when she reached it, the door was wide open. Outside, Rose smiled.
“Yuna, do you think this is the chance for me to go? I’m finally going to be free from Rolan. And I swear, the moment I get out of here, I’m going to take Tobi and leave for a place where he’ll never find us.”
“Yes, that’s a nice dream, but you’re wasting time,” Yuna replied. “We need to escape before we start dreaming about anything.”
Rose nodded, smiling awkwardly. As she did, she looked to her left and right, checking for any guards. Spotting one, she immediately hid behind a tall flower pot. Fortunately, the plant was there, and Rose took a deep breath, placing her hand on her chest.
“That was too close,” Yuna said.
Rose nodded, waiting for the guard to move away. “I can’t stay here much longer, Yuna. We need another plan. This guard is a hindrance right now.”
“I need something to drive the guard away from here, maybe like a stone,” Rose thought for a moment. “You mean like throwing a stone to distract him, so his attention is diverted?” Yuna replied.
Rose thought about it, then dismissed the idea, like dust flying in the wind. “Do you think the guard is a dog? That idea is so dumb and unreasonable,” Yuna opposed.
Rose thought for a bit. “It’s better to try,” she said, looking down at her feet. She noticed a stone nearby and tossed it far ahead. As the stone flew through the air, the guard’s attention shifted. He didn’t turn around, just walked over to check out what had flown by.
Rose clenched her fists and whispered, “Yes.” She hurriedly walked away from the spot, moving quickly so the guard wouldn’t see her.

This was the back entrance. As she ran, she thought she might finally be free. But then she saw a tall, iron fence. Rolan had changed the house because he was afraid she might escape. He had moved them from the island because enemies were after her, and now he had locked her in this new mansion.
Rose looked at the fence. “There’s a fence here,” she said.
“Yes, I can see the fence,” Yuna repeated. “Climb over it.”
Rose hesitated. “Stop, Yuna. You should come out and climb it yourself. Can’t you see there’s an electric shock running through the fence? Do you want electricity to shoot at you?”
She looked at the visible sparks running through the fence and couldn’t help but exclaim, “Rolan, this damn bastard. He’s done everything to make sure I can’t escape. He says he loves me, but he doesn’t care about me at all. He’s even doing harmful things to stop me. Is he not scared I might climb and die? Fake lover!”
She felt helpless. “I feel off,” Rose said.
She was stuck, nowhere to go, as if there were no turning back. She couldn’t escape. Just as Rose turned around, about to change her mind, she spotted a shadow standing with his arms folded.
“Ah!” she exclaimed, falling onto her butt. “Rolan,” she muttered, staring at his cold face as he calmly looked at her.
