Chapter 28: She became his life
The Alpha was going through it again.
The curse—the bond-mate bond.
The Alpha had been going through it for the past three years since Luna Rose left.
It was really weird; the illness seemed like a rejection curse. At the same time, it did not.
It was as if the Luna had partially rejected him and yet still not rejected him.
The mate rejection curse was the worst thing that could happen to any Alpha. It was much more painful than when the Luna is rejected by the Alpha.
The pain that Master Rolan had suffered all these years was very much.
A maid opened the door, rushing in with trembling hands.
She bit her lip and quickly gave the blue pills in the white bag to Alfred.
“Here, Master Alfred. Please don’t blame me for coming late.”
Alfred ignored the maid and only collected the bag hurriedly, then walked to Rolan, raising his head up.
Rolan’s strong arm pushed him, and Alfred almost stumbled.
He did not give up. Alfred approached once more, shoving the pills into Rolan’s mouth when he had successfully raised his head.
The pills were given to him without water.
It went down Rolan’s throat harshly, and he was forced to swallow it.
“What the hell are you giving me, Alfred?” Rolan roared, wanting to struggle again.
His fist hit Alfred this time, staining the man’s lips with blood.
“F***! Get back to your senses, Rolan! You are causing harm to the people around you. Would you f***ing stop!” Alfred lashed out, getting up angrily, wiping his mouth.
Rolan, as if he had gotten back to his senses, hit his fist on the wall, collapsing.
“Come, get the Alpha!”
Many guards came in at Alfred’s command. Their footsteps echoed in the room as they walked in.
Weak maids could not get a muscular man like Rolan off the floor, and neither could Alfred, a man without a single muscle. It was the work of the guards.
…
“What has happened to my son again?” Mrs. Stella da Idris walked into the room, pushing the door open.
Her footsteps were not very calm. Even though she walked on heels, her steps were sharp and fast.
She had just gotten the information that something had happened to Rolan once more, so she rushed in.
Rolan was on the bed, sleeping, with his hair scattered on his face, giving him a messy appeal.
His breath was steady, as if nothing wrong had really happened to him.
Mrs. Stella da Idris walked to Rolan, sleeping on the bed. “My dear son, my poor dear son, this has happened to you again. Why has this happened to you again?”

Mrs. Stella Idris clutched her son’s hand, crying tragically. She hated that such a thing should have happened to her son. It was all Rose’s fault, that daughter-in-law of hers who had married her son through deceit, taking the chance of her having the perfect daughter-in-law and Luna away from her son.
Why had the damn girl left after forcing her way into her son’s life?
Her son shouldn’t be reacting like this. Jennifer was back, and she would mend his heart, which was broken. She wouldn’t let anything hurt her son. Neither Rose—if her son wanted Rose, she would tie her up and bring her to him, but she would never accept her.
The frown on Stella da Idris’ face grew as she placed her hand, rubbing Rolan’s soft locks.
“Get well soon. Mummy is here. She will give you what you want.”
Tears streamed down her face. She hated seeing her son in such a condition. She hated it a lot.
Rolan opened his eyes, feeling the touch of his mother on his hair. Her soothing hand on his hair had taken away the drowsiness he felt.
He couldn’t help but blink, opening his eyes with slow, stiff motions.
“Mum, when did you come here?” His voice was hoarse as he asked her.
“Why shouldn’t I come? I’m your mother,” Stella said, putting on a false frown.
Rolan hissed, ignoring his mother’s false pretense of getting angry at him. He knew that it wasn’t real; she was a drama queen, always the drama queen.
Mrs. Stella surveyed the room, rolling her eyes at her son’s cold attitude. It did not hurt her one bit. She was used to it. She only chose to change the topic.
“So, do you want something to eat or drink? You look so haggard, like you’ve taken drugs.”
Her tone came out as a choke at the end. Of course, she knew the sender in her heart. Rolan was not on drugs. He was just obsessed with Rose, who had suddenly disappeared for many years and had now come back. That fact was what pained her the most. Jennifer was here. Rolan should fall in love with her. She was perfect in everything. Rose was never the woman for him.
Rolan did not read the thoughts in his mother’s heart. He instead looked down, focusing on his hand that seemed to have been voided.
“What happened? He did not remember.”
“Maybe I’m on drugs,” he gave a delayed response to his mother’s words, as if lost in thought.
Rose, if only she was here, roamed in his mind. He wanted her. He wanted her right now.
Rolan’s eyes trembled as he stared at his sheets. His fists clenched, and he moved his lips, muttering to his mother,
“I don’t want to eat anything now. I just want to see Rose.”
Mrs. Stella da Idris’ expression cracked, and her face formed a grimace when she heard his words.
She sneered, her tone cold, “Don’t talk about her when I’m here.”
Her son should just focus on getting healthy and nothing else. Nothing else should bother him.
Rolan hissed, trembling more where Mrs. Stella couldn’t see it. His feet had already started moving as if he was about to get off the bed.
Rolan finally raised his head and glanced at his mother….
