Chapter 29: He is a crazy patient
“I need to see her. I can’t wait.”
He finally got off the hospital bed, his feet unsteady. He stabilized himself and dashed away from the bed, causing the drip to make clashing sounds.
Mrs. Stella reacted and protested, “Son, Rolan, come back here!” Her voice was raised high and panicked. Her hands reached out, trying to clutch his clothes and pull him back, but he had already left.
Mrs. Stella immediately walked out of the room, calling the guards to follow Rolan. “Guards, chase after the Alpha! Bring him back to me now!”
…
Rose got out of the cab, and the cab drove off.
A wave of relief washed over her as she bent beside Tobi, rubbing his hair. “Go, son, study hard and come back safely, okay? I’ll be waiting for you.”
She ruffled his hair more.
Tobi nodded at Rose with a smile, showing a little dimple. “Yes, Mommy, I will study very hard. Make sure you come back to me.” Then he sprinted off with his tiny feet.
She watched him run to school. It was difficult for her to let him go, but she smiled softly, knowing he had to.
Now, Rose turned back, ready to take a step toward her business. It was time for her to work on the movie company matters. Her father had given her a number to contact immediately.
As she moved, a powerful arm suddenly stopped her. Rose’s body trembled slightly as she turned around, seeing the person who had stopped her. The hand that held her was strong, unrelenting.
“Rolan! Why are you here? What are you doing at Tobi’s school?”
Rolan stood taller than her, wearing hospital clothes.
“What do you want?” Rose questioned, biting her lips and pretending as if nothing was wrong.
She tried to move away, but his grip held her firm. Rose gasped.
“Let’s go out for coffee,” he suddenly said, smirking slightly, his tone calm and almost teasing.
…
Rose struggled as he gripped her. Rolan got her into the car, and the whole time she tried to make screaming sounds to stop him from taking her somewhere, as if he was kidnapping her. She didn’t want to go anywhere with him; he should understand this.
Rose rolled her eyes in her heart, looking at him with a frown. Although Rolan seemed to have taken her harshly, his actions weren’t that harsh, but she didn’t see it that way.
She wanted nothing to do with Rolan anymore. Now, he had suddenly appeared in front of her child’s school. He was getting more and more involved in her life, as if he had found out something, but Rose wasn’t sure if he had. She needed to stay away from him, but he was getting closer and closer. Couldn’t he see that she had given up on him long ago, since the time she decided to leave without saying a word?
Rose closed her eyes, stopping herself from glaring at Rolan. But he was looking at her with a dirty smirk pasted across his face.
“What’s with the dirty look you’re giving me? Stop looking at me like that!” Rose couldn’t control herself and snapped. It was annoying how he was looking at her with those eyes.
These eyes, if she looked at them, she would get confused.
She needed to get out of the car. Why had she decided to get in here anyway?
Rolan crossed his arms over his chest, the smirk on his face still not wiped off. He chuckled lowly. “I told you we were going for coffee, don’t you remember? Did you forget?”
Rose could only hear his magnetic voice, its hoarseness and the coldness hidden in it.
So, all of a sudden, he woke up and wanted to go for coffee with her. What had gotten into him? She was suspicious for a moment that he was sick in the head; otherwise, he wouldn’t have come to her all of a sudden. He had others for that. He should leave her alone. She would get coffee anytime she wanted by herself, and if he wanted coffee, she would take her son to get ice cream while she had her coffee.
Rose couldn’t believe it. She played with her locks, which were almost in her face. “You want to go out for coffee with me, looking like that? You want people to think I’ve kidnapped a patient from a psych ward? What are you doing, acting like that?”

A rock hit Rolan’s heart. Her words stung him like a scorpion bite.
Since when did she care about his appearance? She had always found him perfect, no matter what he did or wore. So now, what were all these changes?
He had noticed that she had changed very much, which was true, but he didn’t know it had gotten to this extent.
Rolan brought his face slightly closer, resting his chin on the armrest, looking at her. His face hid his secret annoyance. “I’m sick, Rose. If you think I’m crazy, then let’s say I’m crazy. You’re making me crazy. Would you be ashamed to go out with this person that you’ve made crazy, huh?”
His voice was very hoarse, his breath coming heavily. Rose’s cheeks turned red without her even realizing it.
Was it her wrong intuition? She didn’t know, but now it seemed that Rolan was flirting with her. Since when did this start?
Why wasn’t he cold? He should be cold.
This man was very cunning. If not, he wouldn’t have the words he had today. He wouldn’t have had the words to steal her heart in her past life, even though he was cold with her. Or maybe he wasn’t so cunning, and she was the one who was stupid.
Rose rolled her eyes, wanting to hide the sudden flush that had come on her cheeks. “I didn’t ask you to go crazy. Go crazy for all I care. It doesn’t matter. I’ll just ignore you when someone else comes asking questions.” Her voice was cold and serious, almost as if she had entered a ‘serious mode.’ Yes she was serious.
