Chapter 30: Lies
Rolan did indeed look awful. If she didn’t know him well, she would have thought he was on drugs.
How could he get coffee with all his sudden actions? And she didn’t know how to respond to this.
Rolan chuckled, noticing her reaction. “Reject me then. Don’t worry. I know that will make you act like a lost puppy.”
These lines were killer ones. Rose found herself blushing.
She was annoyed with herself; he should stop flirting with her.
He should stop it, or she wouldn’t know how to react to it.
Her flush seemed to have gone away.
Her expression was cold, and her pale skin was threatening to blush again.
“Are you having this coffee or not? Or do you want me to go somewhere else?” Her decision was to cut the topic, which she did, with Rolan laughing.
Rolan clicked his tongue and brought out a bag.
“Don’t worry. I won’t embarrass you. I’ve got everything prepared for our date.”
Rose maintained her bored expression.
She frowned, seeing his actions of bringing the bag outside.
Although she hated to admit it, she would have loved to see him embarrass himself in public, coming out in a hospital gown like a crazy patient, but the bastard was smarter. He had relief from everything.
But what was he doing in this condition? He looked awful as hell.
Rose couldn’t control her curiosity. She was curious. What had he gone through for this? She didn’t want to be concerned, but he had brought himself to her, and now she was curious.
Rose suddenly took a deep breath, taking in air as Rolan was pulling his shirt off, wanting to change in the car
“What are you doing, Mr.? Have you no shame?!”
Her voice was high-pitched, almost like letting out a shriek.
Hurriedly, she covered her eyes. She didn’t want to look.
The crazy bastard! Before she could fully close her eyes, she saw him smirking.
She had indeed seen his firm, muscular skin and his tattoos.
Why was he doing this? If he wanted to change, he would also have her turn away. He wouldn’t let her stand there while he acted shamelessly.
“Open your eyes. What haven’t you seen?” She heard his voice, coming out as a chuckle in her ears.
What hadn’t she seen? The question came to her mind as he asked in his teasing tone.
“I haven’t seen anything,” her voice was now soft, full of bitterness.
She had seen nothing, really! This man, because she was not his love, had blindfolded her.
When they did it, he would tell her that he didn’t want her to see his body or get all her heart’s desires to come true.
That she had gotten the chance to sleep with him, fulfilled, and marry him, but he wouldn’t let her see his real self.

At that time, he was so sad hearing it.
Rose wondered why she had cried so badly after he had left her after sleeping with her.
Now, she felt ridiculous.
He was just being a jerk.
Rolan saw that her expression had dropped and became serious.
He let go of his playfulness and looked at her. “What’s that? Wipe your eyes. I’m done.” His tone was dismissive as he turned, focusing on the steering wheel, his veiny hand driving the car, sleeves folded.
Rose opened her eyes slowly when she heard his words.
She didn’t want to meet what she didn’t want to see. Rolan was a bastard.
He might be messing with her when he said she should open her eyes, and she was suspicious that he wasn’t done.
She regretted not yelling and calling the cops when Rolan came.
That would have been sweet revenge, but she was too weak and didn’t go through with it.
…
“What do you want to eat? Are you hungry?”
“No, I’m eating nothing! You said we were only here for coffee, so what is this now?”
Rose couldn’t believe it. Was this the coffee shop Rolan had said he’d bring her to? She couldn’t believe he had brought her to a pastry shop instead of a coffee shop.
She had thought she would spend just a minute here and leave, but now it seemed she was expected to spend more than an hour with him.
She wouldn’t let herself stay here any longer.
Rose hissed, getting up, brushing off her skirt, and grabbing her purse.
“Thanks, but I don’t have much time to have a meal with you. I have important things to do. So please excuse me,” she said curtly, her voice sharp with annoyance.
Even if it was an excuse, she had no intention of staying. Spending more time here with him would only make her lose her sanity.
Rolan immediately stood up, grabbing her wrist lightly but firmly, stopping her from leaving.
“Where are you going, Rose? You promised to go out with me. You can’t leave,” he said.
His face was serious, his brow furrowed in a way that didn’t make him look sad but commanding.
Rose glared at him, hating his actions. “I said let me go! I don’t want to stay here. You’re the one who brought this on yourself. You said we’d be going out only for coffee, and now you’ve turned it into dinner. No thanks, but I’d better leave,” she snapped.
What else would he try to do to stop her from leaving? Rolan was unpredictable, and now he was looking at her with eyes like a beast. She felt the warmth of his gaze and hated how it made her weak.
Rolan smirked after a long silence, his voice calm but with a commanding undertone. “Stay for coffee, Rose. You can’t leave this shop. You’ll have coffee with me, and you’ll eat as well. Is that understood?”
Rose felt a flare of anger rise in her chest. He was stubborn and manipulative, always carrying out his plans without leaving any loopholes.
With a frustrated sigh, she sat back down in her chair, defeated, and he finally let go of her wrist.
He also sat down, a smug smirk on his face as he looked at her like a victor.
Rose seethed quietly.
He only won because he was a man and stronger.
If she had the same strength, she would have thrown his hand off and left a long time ago.
Rolan ignored her fuming expression and picked up the menu, his wristwatch clicking softly as he turned the pages. “What would you like, my dear? Tell me, and I’ll order it for you.”
