Chapter 60: Share a bed
Rose glared at him, wondering why in the world he was looking at her like that—like she was the one in the wrong. Yes, she was the one who didn’t want them to share a bed, and she still didn’t want it now.
“Mummy and Uncle need to keep a distance,” Rose said to Tobi. Even Tobi—
She cut herself off, leaving no room for questions.
She thought everything was settled there.
But Tobi looked up at her with big, pleading eyes and said, “I want double hugs and cuddles when sleeping.”
“You heard the kid, Rose,” Rolan interjected with a smirk on his face.
Rose shot a glare at him.
She wanted to argue, but in the end, she shut up and gave in.
Rose found herself sharing a bed with Rolan, though Tobi was sleeping in the middle.
She thought she was safe until she felt a hand holding hers.
“Rolan,” she hissed, shifting slightly to avoid waking Tobi.
“I’m just going to hold your hand, is that okay? No bad things, I promise.”
Rose stared at his eyes, which looked sincere. She sighed and closed her eyes, not giving him a reply, but her silence was enough.
Rolan smirked and closed his eyes to sleep.
A woman parked her car outside the school gate, her eyes locked onto the child playing with his peers. Her gaze turned cold—glacial, sinister.
She muttered under her breath, her focus never leaving the child.
“Well, Rose, is this your precious diamond? The one that’s supposed to make it easier for you to take Rolan away from me? Well, I won’t let you take Rolan from me… and it’s time I take this little gem from you.”
Sliding her sunglasses back onto her face, she turned to the driver with a chilling expression.
“Driver, move the car.”
“Yes, ma’am,” the driver responded, pulling away.
…
Meanwhile, Rose dressed up and took Tobi out of the house. She had planned everything carefully, making sure to leave only when she was certain that Rolan wasn’t home. He was an Alpha, after all—always busy, always with responsibilities. He couldn’t afford to stay home all the time. The moment she confirmed he wasn’t around, she quickly dressed Tobi and left.
The taxi stopped in front of Zara’s house, and Rose helped Tobi out before heading to her friend’s apartment. She climbed the stairs first, then took the elevator up—Zara’s apartment was on the top floor.
Standing at the door, Rose knocked and waited.
Tobi, munching on his biscuit, watched his mother knock without a care in the world. His face showed no interest—his little mind was too busy talking to Darius.
The door clicked open. At first, Rose saw a fighter standing behind the door, then Zara appeared.
“Long time no see! I missed you!” Zara didn’t waste any time rushing forward to hug Rose before her attention shifted to the small boy beside her.
“Tobi, my boy!” Zara laughed, leaving Rose and bending down to scoop Tobi up. The little boy’s eyes widened with curiosity as he found himself suddenly lifted.
“Aunty Zara,” he said in a small voice, staring at her face, now much closer than before.

“Yes, dear! Did you miss your Aunty Zara?” Zara asked, curious to hear his response.
Tobi nodded his little head. “I missed Aunty Zara… but I also have a new dad now.”
The smile on Zara’s face turned awkward. She gave Rose a side glance before walking inside the house.
“Then, Tobi, do you like your new dad?” Zara asked as she sat down, looking at the boy with interest.
Tobi stayed silent for a moment, thinking. Then, he nodded.
“Yes, I like him—my new daddy.” His little teeth peeked through as he smiled.
Rose found a chair and sat quietly, watching Zara and Tobi chat.
Zara already knew everything that had happened—how Rose had been forced into this situation, pretending to be a couple with Rolan.
“So, how have you been? Have you solved any cases yet?” Rose asked, changing the atmosphere slightly.
Zara and Tobi were having such a fun conversation, leaving her out of it, and she couldn’t help but drop her gaze in mock disappointment. Yet, a small smile tugged at her lips.
“You guys came to my boring house. How am I supposed to entertain you?” Zara rubbed Tobi’s hair and turned to Rose.
Rose shrugged her shoulders, glanced around the house, and realized that, yes, it really was boring.
“You could get some games in here. Something fun. Don’t ask me to be specific.” Rose gave Zara a playful glare.
Zara laughed, getting up while holding Tobi in her arms.
“Lol, we should go see your father, or we could crash a party that’s happening.”
“What party?” Rose asked, confused by Zara’s sudden change of topic.
“A college party. Most of the people there are werewolves. You know we humans are the minority here.”
Rose could sense the slight pain in Zara’s voice—it was obvious.
She couldn’t help but step up to Zara’s height and hold her hands.
“Being human is better than being a werewolf. At least you don’t have to deal with the heat and weird mate bond stuff. Look at me—ever since Rolan started living with me, I’ve been feeling strangely hot and restless, like something is rising up inside me, but I’ve been controlling myself.”
Zara looked at Rose seriously, her eyes filled with pity. “I guess you’re right. Tsk. So, are we going to this reunion or whatever?”
“We’re going.” Rose nodded, and the two friends left the house.
…
The place Zara directed Rose to was on a completely different road.
Inside the car, the ride felt strange, like something bad was about to happen. They were driving through an area with nothing but long trees lining the road.
The place where Zara had schooled was far away from home. Rose remembered it clearly, as if everything had happened just yesterday.
Because her mother disliked her so much, she had sent her to a school far away—a school with more werewolves, more rogues, and more chaos.
She had endured a lot of bullying there.
“Mummy, wolves!” Tobi pointed outside the window excitedly.
Rose glanced at where he was pointing, her heart tightening slightly. She nodded and gently covered Tobi’s eyes.
“Yes, son, wolves. But you have Darius with you, so don’t be scared. Those big Werewolves are just fat,so don’t be scared honey”
Tobi hummed softly at Rose’s soothing voice.
Zara, watching from the side, simply smirked while scrolling through her phone.
She couldn’t believe it. Werewolves were scared of other werewolves, yet here she was—a human, afraid of nothing. If only she could erase the trauma that werewolves had caused Rose…
…
Clink! Clink!
The car suddenly made a heavy, unsettling noise, and a massive tree crashed down in front of them.
Rose’s heart skipped a beat. She immediately shielded Tobi with her body.
Zara, still trying to process what was happening, stared wide-eyed as the car came to a screeching stop.
Through the side mirror, they saw them—huge wolves.
Big. Wicked.
Salt-red eyes. Grey fur.
Rose’s heart pounded, but deep inside, something awakened.
Her wolf—Yuna.
Yuna was ready to strike at any moment.
—
“All of you in the car, get out,” a deep, commanding voice rang out.
Rose’s eyes locked onto the large beast-like werewolf standing ahead.
“Who are you? I don’t trust you, and I’m not getting out,” she said, her voice fierce.
If she showed even a hint of weakness, she was done for.
“We are the Werewolf Council. Please come out, Miss Rose Stewart.”
The Werewolf Council?
Aren’t they the ones in charge of werewolf affairs?
What did they want from her?
And why were they here—in this place?
It felt like they had been stalking her.
