Chapter 61: Her sister first move
Rolan knocked on the door, but no one came to answer. He knocked for a long time.
Knocking for so long, the smile that had lingered on his face vanished, and his eyes narrowed.
“Oh, did you sneak out without letting me know? Aren’t we supposed to be acting like a couple to avoid drawing attention from the cops? Where have you gone? Can’t you just go through with the plan for once?” Rolan muttered under his breath, rubbing his wrist, unsure whether to be pissed off at her or just laugh out of frustration.
Now, he had no choice but to go look for Rose. He would have to start searching, but where could she have gone? He had no idea.
Rolan glanced at the door, a frown settling on his face. Then, with a sigh, he walked to his car and sat inside, his mood turning grumpy.
He took out his phone and dialed a number. The call rang for a moment before connecting.
“Alfred, help me with something,” Rolan started.
“What is it, Alpha? I’ll help if it’s within my power,” Alfred responded.
“Don’t talk like that. I just need help getting Rose’s location.”
There was silence on the other end for a moment before Alfred finally spoke.
“Got it, Alpha. Expect it in the next twenty-nine minutes.”
Rolan smirked and nodded at Alfred’s words. He could always trust him with anything. There was no way Alfred would disappoint him—he believed that because Alfred never had.
Less than twenty-nine minutes later, a message arrived on his phone.
He read the text, and his expression turned cold. Without hesitation, he started the car and drove off.
…
Meanwhile…
“What do you mean? I don’t understand anything you’re saying!” Rose was sweating, her fingers trembling as she gripped the hem of her dress. What were the Werewolf Council members saying? What was all this mess? Her heart pounded in her chest.
“Ma’am, we believe that this werewolf child is stolen. You took him from his real parents,” one of the council members stated firmly.
Rose shook her head, trying to control her anger and not say something rash.
Zara held her back, keeping her calm and stopping her from acting recklessly.
“Zara, how could they say this? That I stole Tobi? Tobi is my child! My child, whom I carried and gave birth to!” Rose’s voice trembled, and her eyes burned with unshed tears as she looked at Zara in distress.
“Friend, I trust you. I believe in you. I was there when Tobi was born. This is all a setup—we need to handle this rationally,” Zara reassured her.
Then, turning to the suited man with a tattoo on his neck—the same one who had accused Rose—Zara cleared her throat and spoke sternly.
“Where exactly did you get this information that Miss Rose stole a werewolf child?”
“That is information that is not meant to be shared with you, young lady,” the man snapped, giving Zara no room for further questions. But Zara didn’t back down. His intimidating aura didn’t faze her.
“The child belongs to my friend. If you want to take him away, legal procedures must be followed to resolve this mystery. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?” she said in a smooth yet firm voice, flashing the man a polite smile.
The man chuckled, his lips curling into a smirk.
“Legal procedures will be carried out, but until then, the child stays with us. If the young lady here is truly innocent, she shouldn’t panic. The child will be fine.”
Zara hissed, wanting to argue, but before she could, Rose stood there, frozen.

Her lips parted slightly, but she barely heard anything Zara or the council members were saying.
First, it was the cops after her son. Now, the Werewolf Council had come for him, too.
They wanted to take her son away from her.
Who was doing this? Who was behind all of this?
She felt helpless—she didn’t know what to do.
“Mummy!”
Rose’s heart shattered at the sound of Tobi’s wailing.
He was crying, his little body shaking as he tried to push past the woman holding him back—a member of the Werewolf Council.
He wanted his mummy.
But they wouldn’t let him go to her.
Rose wanted to run to Tobi and hug him as she saw him crying, but the werewolf council blocked her path.
She felt rage bubbling inside her, the urge to let her wolf out and tear through them. But that would be stupid. She was surrounded by werewolves, outnumbered and at a disadvantage. Keeping calm was the only way to resolve this without making things worse.
She wouldn’t act irrationally and give the werewolf council more reasons to take her son away.
“Please, I can prove to you that Tobi is my son,” she pleaded, her voice steady despite the storm raging inside her.
The werewolf council members exchanged glances before turning back to Rose, their curiosity evident in their sharp stares.
The man with a tattoo on his neck, the one who had been bickering with Zara earlier, shifted his attention to Rose after hearing her words. He rose from his seat and slowly approached her.
“Very well,” he said with an unsettling smirk. “You claim this child as yours? Then prove it. We have some questions for you. If you answer them all correctly, you can take your son home today. But know this—our eyes will remain on you.”
Rose nodded, forcing herself to remain composed.
This was her chance. If she answered everything correctly, she could take Tobi and leave this place forever. She would never come back. She had been foolish to return to this cursed city where nothing but misfortune awaited her. Life had been much more peaceful in the foreign country where she had lived before.
“I’m ready for your questions. Ask me anything, and I’ll tell you the truth,” Rose said, her voice calm, her posture submissive—appearing like a humble mother with nothing to hide.
“When did you give birth to the boy?”
She answered without hesitation.
“What does he like? What doesn’t he like?”
“He doesn’t like eating meat,” Rose responded, her gaze unwavering. The only sign of her nerves was the way she bit her lip, glancing at them briefly.
The tattooed man leaned back, tapping his fingers against the armrest of his chair. “Miss Rose, you’re doing quite well,” he remarked.
Then, his expression darkened. “Everything seems correct, but we have one last question for you.”
Rose exhaled slowly, keeping her emotions in check. “Go ahead. I’ll answer any question you have.”
“What kind of werewolf is your son?”
Her breath hitched.
“He is not my ‘claimed’ son,” she began, but Zara quickly rubbed her back in warning, silently urging her to be careful with her words.
Rose took a deep breath. The truth was—she didn’t know. Tobi was her son, but she had never checked what rank he held. Was he an Alpha? A Beta? An Omega? It had never mattered to her.
“Tell them he’s an Alpha,” Yuna, her wolf, suddenly whispered in her mind. “They’ll believe it. They’re too weak to sense his true nature.”
Relief flooded Rose, and a small smile played on her lips. “My son is an Alpha werewolf,” she said firmly.
The tattooed man raised a brow at her, clearly intrigued by her confident answer.
“I said that was the last question,” he mused. “But… I made a mistake. I do have one more.”
Rose clenched her fists, resisting the urge to lash out. They had claimed it was the final question, yet they kept pushing.
“Go ahead,” she said with a sweet yet bitter smile, masking her frustration.
The man smirked. “Who is your husband, Miss Rose?”
Rose’s lips parted, but no words came out.
Her throat tightened, refusing to let her speak.
The tattooed man stood up, gesturing to his men. “Well then, it seems we’ll be taking the child with us.”
The moment those words left his mouth, the werewolves moved. Two of them restrained Rose while another lifted Tobi into their arms.
Tobi whimpered, struggling against their grip. “Mommy!”
Rose felt her world shatter. Tears burned behind her eyes, but she refused to cry.
“I’m her husband.”
A thunderous voice echoed from outside, stopping everyone in their tracks.
