Chapter 65: A Kiss meant for another
She was upset and all alone. Everything had been just her own wishful thinking. She couldn’t understand what was happening to her.
Rose called herself stupid for ever believing she would feel this way—especially after Rolan had spoken to Jennifer.
When the emotions became too much, she decided to clear her mind by visiting her friend.
First, she would pick Tobi up from school before heading to Zara’s.
Meanwhile, Rolan was on the road, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he drove. His mind wandered. He had rushed to Jennifer the moment she called—running to her like a lost puppy.
And yet, now, he wanted to turn back. He wanted to go back to Rose, to run back to her. His body urged him to, but something deep inside kept him driving forward.
He couldn’t let go of the wheel.
What was wrong with him?
No matter how much he wanted to turn around, he just… couldn’t.
—
The car pulled up in front of Jennifer’s house, and Rolan stepped out. Several maids and young women stood at the mansion’s entrance.
This place… for some reason, he had given it to Jennifer. She had begged him for it over and over again until he finally gave in. He had grown tired of her constant pleading, so he had handed over the mansion.
She had begged for many other gifts too—luxuries worth thousands, some even reaching millions. But that wasn’t his problem. He had always found it strange, very strange, but he convinced himself that it was normal. He had known Jennifer for many years and had always considered her a friend. That was one of the reasons he had succumbed to her wishes.
There was nothing more to it.
Rolan shook his head, snapping out of his thoughts. He stepped onto the porch, and the maids at the door greeted him respectfully. They all recognized him, the weight of his Alpha presence filling the air.
Rolan gave a slight nod, and they stepped aside, letting him into the house. The grand white interior was elegant—decorated in a way that made it obvious a woman lived there. His sharp eyes scanned the room.
Where was Jennifer?
She was in the parlor.
For a moment, he considered sitting down to wait for her. But the moment he was about to take a seat, something inside him refused to let him rest. His soul urged him forward, telling him to go upstairs and look for her.
And so, he did.
His footsteps echoed against the polished floors as he climbed the stairs, passing expensive decorations and chandeliers casting golden light. Finally, he reached the door to Jennifer’s room.
He stood there, hesitating.
This was wrong. Everything about this felt wrong.
But then, before he could stop himself, his hand lifted, and he knocked.
A brief silence followed before Jennifer’s voice came from inside.
“Yes, Rolan. Is that you? You can come in.”
Hearing her voice, regret flooded him. He shouldn’t have knocked. He should have turned back.
And yet, despite himself, his hand reached for the doorknob.
The door creaked open, revealing Jennifer standing before him.

Golden blonde hair framed her delicate face, cascading over her shoulders. Her fair skin was flawless, and her rosy lips curved slightly as she looked at him.
For a moment, Rolan simply stood there, staring at her, an unsettling feeling twisting in his chest.
It was almost as if she was Rose, but she wasn’t.
She didn’t smell like Rose, yet when he looked into her eyes, it was as if he was staring right at her. And that made him not want to go back to the real Rose.
She was like Rose in front of him.
Only… she didn’t smell like Rose. Her bust wasn’t as full as Rose’s.
“Rolan, dear,” Jennifer called in a sultry voice, noticing the way he was looking at her so critically. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders as she whispered his name.
Rolan’s shoulders went stiff.
He wanted to push her away.
But when he looked at her, he saw Rose.
And so, he didn’t struggle when she clung to him.
“Kiss me, Rolan, dear…”
Jennifer’s voice echoed in his head, and all he could see was Rose’s face. Rose was asking him to kiss her—for the first time in years.
This was a golden opportunity.
How could he not take it?
Blood rushed to his head, and Rolan cupped Jennifer’s face, smashing his lips against hers.
His kiss was fierce, filled with force as he spun her around and pinned her to the wall. His lips pressed against hers harder, deeper, devouring her.
Jennifer let out soft moans as Rolan kissed her, his hands already roaming her chest. The straps of her nightdress began to slip from her shoulders.
“Oh, you’re a beast, Rolan dear,” Jennifer laughed between moans and gasps, her voice teasing yet pleased.
Rolan’s eyes flickered—red, then dark again.
His head was full of Rose.
It was all Rose.
“For you, Rose, I can be any beast,” he murmured, his voice husky, his chest rising and falling as his hands slid lower, trying to get beneath her gown.
Jennifer choked on her moan at the mention of Rose’s name.
Her expression cracked.
Her pleasure vanished.
“It’s still Rose. It’s always her.”
“I thought I was going to spare my little sister from a little pain… but I guess I’ll have to carry on with my plans.”
Jennifer smirked.
Her fingers, which had been secretly gripping her phone, snapped a few perfect, erotic photos.
The camera clicked.
But Rolan’s eyes were glowing red. He wasn’t in the right state of mind to do anything except lose himself in the moment.
“Do you love me, Rolan?”
Jennifer’s voice dripped with honey.
“Will you die for me? Will you give me anything I want in this life?”
At some point, she had cupped his face, stopping him from going any further. His hands had already slipped beneath her nightdress, fingers trailing along her stomach, roaming below her navel.
“I’ll do anything for you,” Rolan murmured, his flickering eyes locking onto hers.
Jennifer chuckled.
Her voice was hypnotic as she whispered, “Stay away from Rose, Rolan dear. Stay away from her. Can you do that? You promised.”
Her lips curled into a smile, waiting for his response.
“I can’t.”
Rolan’s voice was hoarse, his mind confused.
She was Rose.
And Rose was asking him to stay away from her.
But he couldn’t.
He felt like nothing without her.
“What the hell, Rolan?!” Jennifer roared.
And just like that—
Time was up.
Rolan’s body collapsed, unconscious.
Jennifer caught him, but barely. His weight was too much for her petite frame, and she winced as she struggled beneath him.
“Why must it always end at such a time?” she muttered, rolling her eyes with an annoyed hiss.
His dead weight pressed heavily against her, so she did the only thing she could.
She shifted.
A massive wolf took his place, its fur dark and thick. With a swift movement, she lifted him onto her back and carried him to the bed, dropping him down with a thud.
Jennifer let out a breath, her human form returning.
A sly smile crept onto her lips as she pulled out her phone, scrolling through the intimate pictures she had just taken.
“Oh, Rose, dear sister…”
She grinned, tilting her head as she admired the images.
“How will you feel when you see this?”
