Chapter 76: A kiss for a thank you
After a long time of Rose standing and looking at Tobi, her mind drifted back to the fact that Rolan was here. She turned, her gaze settling on his face as he watched Tobi.
His expression was calm—no twist of emotion.
She knew what she was doing, and she knew her attitude was wrong.
But what right did he have to receive her kindness?
She couldn’t forget the pictures Jenifer had sent her. Rolan was here to comfort her now, but just moments ago, he would treat her like she was his entire world—like he loved her, like he would never break her heart or let her down.
She almost fell for it. It was as if he was truly sincere.
But the memories of her past life told her otherwise. This man was a master at acting.
In the past, when he was cold to her, he always knew how to act just enough to make her give herself to him. And every time, she was vulnerable—falling for him again and again.
She had been so stupid back then, thinking his vile behavior was just because they were still strangers. She believed that once their marriage grew, they would become a happy couple—the perfect couple.
But it was her own foolish thinking.
He had feelings for her sister. He never lied—he would never love her the way she wanted him to.
An hour had passed, and Tobi’s temperature had finally returned to normal.
It would be a lie to say she wasn’t relieved. Seeing her child safe and well was all that mattered.
She couldn’t deny that without Rolan’s help, things might have gone terribly wrong. If he hadn’t been here, something might have happened to Tobi.
For that, she was grateful. Very grateful.
And she wouldn’t be disrespectful by ignoring his efforts.
So, she turned to him. As if sensing her gaze, he raised his head, meeting her eyes at the same time.
“I want to take this moment to thank you for staying with Tobi,” she said sincerely. “You really helped me. I’m so thankful.”
Rolan looked at her, his expression unreadable.
She had thanked him. He wasn’t surprised, but a sour feeling lingered in his chest.
She only ever thanked him when it came to the child.
She only ever smiled at him when he did her a favor.
To hide his frustration, Rolan forced a smile.
“Bunny, if you’re thanking me, I won’t accept it.” His lips curled slightly. “I don’t accept verbal thank-yous.”
He stood up, his tall figure towering over hers.
Rose raised a brow, looking at him like she didn’t understand what he was talking about.
“Verbal thank-you? What else do you want?” she asked, acting clueless, though suspicion flashed in her eyes.
“A kiss as appreciation would be better than a verbal thank-you,” Rolan chuckled.
Rose hissed, clenching her fists.

“You’re daydreaming, Mr. Rolan. I’m not giving you a kiss.”
Rose’s cold eyes stared at him, lingering on his annoyingly handsome face, which carried a smug smirk.
“Oh? Okay.” Rolan’s deep, husky voice held a teasing edge. “I wasn’t asking—I was telling you what I’m going to do, little bunny.”
Before she could react, Rolan caught her chin between his thumb and forefinger, tilting her face up—and then his lips crashed into hers.
Rose’s body went stiff. Her hands instinctively gripped his arms for support as he kissed her.
She tried to shut her lips or bite him, but his tongue had already slipped past, wrapping around hers—hot and cold at the same time, snaking through her mouth, sending a shiver down her spine.
His tongue sucked on hers, slow and deep, like a baby drinking from its mother’s breast.
His lips, his fangs—everything about his kiss was overwhelming. It ignited a fire in her, spreading heat through her body, making her tremble.
She wanted to resist. She really did.
But she was melting.
It hadn’t been that long since she had last been with Rolan. It hadn’t been that long since she had sworn to stay away from him, to have nothing to do with him ever again.
And yet, the heat between them was still there. Strong. Unrelenting. Sparking through her like electricity.
Her legs wobbled, unable to hold her up, and she almost collapsed onto the bed.
Rolan held her tighter.
She was too close to the edge—too close to where Tobi lay sleeping. He noticed. He didn’t want to disturb the child.
So, in one swift motion, he turned her away from the bed, pinning her against the wall.
His other hand found hers, lifting it above her head, holding her in place.
He couldn’t get enough of her.
She let out a small gasp as he kissed her deeper, and he swallowed the sound greedily. He loved hearing those noises from her.
But kissing her wasn’t enough.
His hands moved to her shirt, finding the buttons. He undid them slowly, trailing his fingers down her soft, bare skin.
He loved touching her.
Her stomach, the gentle curve of her waist, the smoothness of her skin.
But what he wanted more… were her breasts.
So he gave in to his desire.
His hands found her chest, but—
A barrier.
She was still wearing a bra.
He growled in frustration, biting her bottom lip in annoyance at the unwanted obstacle.
He didn’t have the patience for this.
With one sharp tug, he tore the delicate fabric apart as if it were nothing.
A trivial task for an Alpha.
Finally, she was bare to him.
His hands eagerly cupped her soft, round breasts, kneading them, teasing them. The moment his fingers brushed over her hardened peaks, Rose let out a sharp gasp—a sound like music to his ears.
His thumb flicked over her sensitive nipples, circling, playing, while his mouth trailed lower.
Rose’s body trembled in his arms, her breath ragged.
She was so sensitive.
And it was his mission to break her.
To make her beg.
And then—she did.
“Rolan… please… touch me there…”
There was no shame in her voice anymore, no regard for their surroundings.
A smirk curled Rolan’s lips as he pulled back just enough to meet her dazed, desperate gaze.
“That’s my bunny,” he whispered, his voice thick with satisfaction.
Rose’s eyes widened, staring at him wondering—what would he do next?
Seeing the confusion on her face, Rolan suddenly lifted her, throwing her over his shoulder with ease.
She gasped, nearly yelping in surprise.
“You wouldn’t want your precious son seeing something unholy, would you?”
He grinned, his voice dripping with amusement.
“Are you eager? Don’t worry, little bunny… I’ll get to you soon enough.”
